The Best Street Food! - Edit
V Street is my go-to favorite place in the city. The night I asked my fiancé to marry me, we ate at V Street afterwards -- that's how much we like it. Everything I've ever had was amazing. Street food and small plates at its finest. The drinks are expertly crafted, even the space itself is nice. Reservations are recommended for dinner. The street tacos and Peruvian fries are my favorites but honestly you can't go wrong with anything!

FIRST AND FOREMOST ITS YA BOY MICHAEL BACK WITH ANOTHER JAM PACKED HIT SINGLE HAPPYCOW REVIEW FOR YOUR RETICULAR ACTIVATION SYSTEM. SECOND OF ALL....let's take a moment and talk about this....who the [censored] came up with this recipes son. I swear my mother would drive down to Philadelphia and slap me if she knew how disrespectful these menu items were to every other dish served anywhere else on earth. The Dan Dan noodles took a dump on my whole existence and made me rethink every time I've used a skillet in the last 10 years.
Read moreThis [censored] is the pinnacle of high class vegan luxury cuisine. I swear the head chef hiked to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in shorts and found these recipes on the back of a stone tablet inside a 200,000 year old glacier you feel me.
They literally just brought out a [censored] waffle and I don't know if I can ever eat breakfast again. My taste buds will never respect me again after experiencing this level of flavor and succulent textures. I paid $12 for 4 pieces of broccoli and I ain't even mad.
I'm gunna have to give this a solid 💯/10 and go into solitary confinement to think about the culinary odyssey I just lived through, peace.

excellent menu and atmosphere - Edit
Coming to V Street was a birthday surprise from my husband. We brought 3 friends with us. We ordered 1 of each item on the menu. Everything was so delicious and preparred perfectly. I'm the only vegan within my group of friends, but I think V Street's food may have changed their opinion as to what vegan food is like. Staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was warm and artistic. I definately would return. I highly recommend reservations.

Very foodie, (but amazing) - Edit
This is probably my favorite restaurant, though I feel it has been mis-represented on happy cow. Me and my dad stumbled in after hiking the mile-and-a-half hike from the art museum thinking this place was a casual eatery. It's not. The restaurant is tiny, in a cosy way not a claustrophobic way, and was SUPER full. We were "stuck" in really cute little window seats and given a menu. The waitor informed us that the plates were tiny and designed to be shared. We ordered 5 plates pretty quicky (there were maybe 20 to choose from). The best thing about this place was how they spaced the food. First up was the Cauliflower "65" and the phili flatbread. The 65 was amazing, the mint chutney perfectly accented the SpIcY red curry. The flat bread was more mild, and had awesome complex flavors (though it didn't really have the mouth-feel of broccoli b/c it was cooked different then Im used to). Next was the cooked carrots w/ avocado, a black bean puree and colwslaw. Every aspect of this was FANTASTIC. I probably could have made something similar to the carrots, but the bean puree and the coleslaw where DIVINE. Next came the Korean Tacos with radish kimchee and tofu. These were awesome and by far the largest dish. They were spicy and sweet and crispy all at once. I could have just eaten a whole plate of these! Finally came the spicy mushroom noodles (they have a proper name, but it escapes me). These were insanely spicy (though my mouth started burning after the tacos so it might have been partially residual), but I suffered through for the flavor. Best. Mushrooms. Ever. Most mushrooms are trying to be something they're not, but not these. These were basking in their crispy mushroom-y glory. The sauce and noodles were great, the mushrooms were simply divine! I finished off the meal with a sweet-tahini icecream. It. Was. Awesome. The cherries were soaked in some delicious syrup and the sweet tahini flavor, while it sounds off-putting, was the best vegan icecream I had ever had. I am writing this and trying to digest as I ate WAAAYYY too much. If I went again I would probably not order the flatbread, it was fantastic, but it was expensive and I don't feel it added much to the meal.

As good as Vedge and open for lunch! - Edit
This is a phenomenal restaurant in its own right and especially if you can't go to Vedge because it's booked, or not open. V street has different opening times, including lunch. They also do small plates, and it's street food themed. All around excellent!!

Fine Vegan Dining - Edit
I had lunch here with food that I never heard of, could not pronounce, and enjoyed immensely. The portion sizes are smaller than you'd expect but otherwise appropriate. I WISH I had more but that allowed me to order something else. I'm sure to visit again. Here is what I ordered:
Read moreLANGOS- smoked chioggia beets, dill, sauerkraut remoulade
PIRI PIRI TOFU - “shakshouka” sauce, avocado, chermoula
Their nonalcoholic drinks are unique and refreshing. They also serve cocktails, beer, and wine.
Pros: Taste/Flavor, ambience, Speed of service (lunch)
Cons: Price to portion size ratio

Flavor checked in here to stay for good. - Edit
If you know anyone who isn't willing to eat vegan food or says it doesn't taste good, bring them here. Non-veg*ns are big on flavor, fire and liquor, and all of those are here in spades. The plating is also phenomenal for such seemingly simple takes on street food. The lighting makes it all better, allowing for a cozy and intimate feeling to your meal. The seating is limited. The good thing about the seating is that there's a good selection of views from varying places- including people watching, the bar, and the open kitchen!
Read moreReally though, the food??? Hello, the food. Actually, you don't even need to try to greet or become familiar with the food. Your first bite will bring you into a swimmingly blissful state of, oh yes, I know this feeling, it's the feeling of comfort food... with a new twist. They are heavy on grilled food, but you don't have to have grilled mushrooms, peppers or tofu. They are heavy on Asian food, including the infamous dan dan noodles with the beautiful variety of flavorful mushrooms (they are the real treat!). There are also amazing interpretations of tacos (Asian fusion - not gluten free, though), french fries, salads and.... wait for it, soft serve ice cream.
If nothing else, vegans will flock to places with soft serve ice cream. They mix it up here, so it's not just plain vanilla or chocolate. You will be happy with their soft serve, but don't forget.... waffles as dessert? Yes, please.
This place is an amazing choice for a party of 3-4 people who are interested in sharing lots of small dishes. Because if you see what other tables order, you will want those dishes, too! The suggestion is to pick 3 small plates, one from Sticks, one from Market and one from Plates. However, once you add in liquor and drinks, you may not have room for dessert. SAVE room. You'll be happier if you do.
Pros: 100% vegan, Flavor-packed creativity, Small dishes = more variety
Cons: Slightly salty, No gluten-free markings

FAB food and great service!! - Edit
We ended up here because our other choice was noisy and crowded. We were SO happy!
Read moreDon't be daunted by the menu. We have eaten around the globe, but still didn't know all the ingredients. However, our server explained everything and we were amazed at the great tastes. Dishes are small and meant to be shared.
The beers and wine are good and cocktails are really interesting and tasty.
Please tell your server if you have any concerns about spice or allergies. They are very knowledgable about all dishes or will get you the info you need.
Perfect for a date, solo dining or a group meet up.
Great location, right off Rittenhouse Square. Will definitely go back.
Pros: Excellent flavors, Friendly Ambiance, Staff
Cons: Little Expensive, Not average choices

excellent and so flavorful! - Edit
This just opened last month (October '14) and is owned by the same couple who owns Vedge.
Read moreLoved it! There were four of us at my table and everyone agreed. For me the highlights were the smoked beets and carrot choripan...actually we ordered almost one of everything on the menu except the bowl dishes and were delighted. Will definitely return! Some dishes are spicy (for me who can't handle a ton of spice) so just ask your waiter.
