Serves chicken now 💔 - Edit
Every visit and take out meals use to be pleasant and delicious. Use to be one of the best vegan breakfasts around. There were so many tasty items. New owners do not understand the history and importance of this place being fully vegan, so sad.

Not vegan and bland food - Edit
The new owners really fell off when it was vegan. The fettuccine tasted like bland gelatinous goo and then they switch over to not being vegan. Sad what they became and you couldn’t pay me to eat there

Sad - Edit
This was one of my favorite restaurants back before Covid. The food and service has been weird, bad, and expensive since the new ownership. Now it’s not even a vegan restaurant.

Utter sadness - Edit
We ate here in February when we were visiting Seattle. It was incredible. We had it at the top of our list of go to vegan restaurants for every time we come back to Seattle. Couldn't wait for the next visit. Now I log on to give it a great review, and I see the sad news that they are no longer vegan. Unfortunately, have to join all of the one star reviews. Even without living in Seattle, I can tell if this is a huge blow to the vegan community there. Looking at their menu online, I see that they still have a huge amount of plant-based offerings. So I'm sure this is still a great place to go. The one star is for losing their ethical compass, which is important to me in my dining choices as an ethical vegan.
Read morePros: Fantastic food, Mini plant-based choices, Great, atmosphere and service
Cons: Loss of status as a vegan haven, Decision to offer animal products, and animal meat

No Longer Vegan - Edit
I used to always get food from here when in Green Lake. Not only are they no longer vegan, they have copy and pasted AI written responses to guests’ concerns and then turned off comments on social media. Not only will I not be going there any longer, I will discourage everyone I know from eating there. Disappointing to say the least.

Used to be my fav breakfast spot - Edit
Sad to see *another Seattle* spot rug pull switching from all vegan to serving meat and dairy. Will be missed. I hear there are still a number of vegan options but don't be fooled by the ratings on happy cow - it's all from when they were fully plant based.

Disappointing outcome - Edit
As others have said, this place had a long history of being vegan and even when the food quality started to change it was nice to have them around. Now there’s really no point to even pretending it’s the same place.

Omni restaurant. No longer vegan. - Edit
The owner has recently made an announcement that this restaurant will be adding meat, dairy, and eggs to the menu. Incredibly disappointing and disgusting for what was once a beacon in the Seattle vegan community and is now just another exploitative cash grab profiting from animal cruelty. I will never patronize this restaurant again.

No longer vegan. Never going back. - Edit
I've been here half a dozen times under the newest ownership, and the food was a bit bland, greasy, and very expensive. Now that the owners have decided to flip this place into serving chicken, saying it's a "hearty" alternative to the vegan selection which brought its customers in, I have no reason to support this place at all. All the Google reviews pointing out the hypocrisy have been pulled down. Why would I come here for mid, expensive food that doesn't even support my values?

Have nice memories of breakfasts at the old vegan Wayward. Now they're serving meat and trying to put a cheerful spin on it.

Miss the old Wayward - Edit
I used to go out of my way every trip to come to Wayward but since the new ownership most of what I loved about the restaurant is gone. The menu was completely overhauled and reduced in size, removing many of my favourite items. I typically would come here for breakfast or lunch. Last time we went the service was only okay despite it being almost empty and the food was not the best. Haven't gone back since. I'm sad one of my long time favourites ended up losing its appeal.

Started serving meat - Edit
Wayward had been a favorite vegan destination for me for over 20 years. No more. They were vegan for the animals until the current ownership group. “All vegan, all the time” was their ethos. The current owners have decided the way to get more business is to serve dead animals. I love a good Omni restaurant with solid vegan options, but I won’t support the destruction of a cherished vegan gathering place.

we love Wayward! So many delicious options. Albuquerque crunch wrap is my go-to but we've never not liked something. Service is somewhat lacking but that seems par for the course at lots of places.

Far removed from it’s humble beginnings, gone through multiple iterations. This latest version is no longer vegan. I’m done with them.

Honestly last few years the food has been bad in my opinion anyway. The coffee costs money to add milk and still manages to be bad. Now they aren’t all-vegan and not even all vegetarian. Can’t think of a single reason you would go here when sunlight is just a walk away.
