A lifesaver when you’re away from home.

This place is the best on the island if you’re vegan or vegetarian. The whole staff can tell you exactly what is in any dish. They have dozens of options. Everything is delicious. We are here for breakfast 4-5 times and stopped in for their fresh juices on several occasions. The desserts are amazing and all are vegan. Staff is fun and friendly. Coffee is the best we had anywhere.

Pros: Options, Fresh Ingredients, Staff

Cons: Pricey

so delicious!

A ton of vegan options, including amazing desserts. We had chai, sangria, buffalo wings, sweet potato fries, key lime pie, and mocha chocolate chip cake. Everything was amazing. Would give five stars if I could.

Yummy and cozy (5 stars, App won't let me select last one)

My vegan husband and I (vegetarian) came here after a long day of traveling and walking around the neighborhood. It was warm, welcoming and the food was delicious. The portions were large and I ended up taking half back to the hotel. There are lots of beers on tap and I had the MOST delicious fresh watermelon cuke lime juice. The vegan options weren't copious, but were clearly labeled. We plan on visiting again before our trip is over!

Pros: Convenient location, friendly service and not too

Cons: Not lots of vegan dishes

omg vegan chocolate pudding

Had a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese. The marinara sauce on the pizza was incredible. The pizza came with a salad, the ginger miso dressing was very flavorful. I was too full from dinner, but took the chocolate vegan pudding to go. It was topped with whipped cream.

Excellent

Would’ve given five starts, if that wasn’t reserved for only fully veg restaurants, because this place has a 50% veg menu with veg signage all over.
Anyways, food is excellent - better than some fully veg places I’ve been to.
Recommend the kung pao tofu!

Cozy vibe

Great lunch spot, not to crowded mid week. The service is a bit slow, but I guess you're not in a rush when visiting the Keys.

I see some think it's pricey, but the servings are huge.
Looked like most veg dishes could be made vegan.

Pros: Vegan key lime pie!!

Cons: Slow service

Amazing Vegan Food

For some reason this restaurant did not initially show up on the happy cow app but we found it through a google search. Amazing vegan food. Tons of vegan options. Many of the vegetarian options can also be made vegan. Would give it five stars for its vegan food, but the website only allows 4 stars for restaurants that are not fully vegan. Also, according to their menu, they have the only vegan key lime pie in key west!

awesome food. worth the wait.

Have visited three times - never disappointed by the food. But service is slow - glad they are so busy. Don’t be in a rush - just enjoy. Quinoa salad amazing. Curry vegan chicken salad - a two time favorite. Excellent vegan carrot cake as well as red velvet cake. Empanadas - wonderful crust but wondered about unfamiliar spices within - tasty.

Pros: this is a great vegan option. don’t miss.

Cons: I’m

Great Vegan Options for Breakfast

If you're ever looking for vegan options for breakfast like we were on our recent trip to The Keys, then The Cafe is the go-to place. I had the Tofu Benedict which was excellent. I didn't think I would like all the Kale on the plate, but it was a pleasant surprise, other than being a tad bit too salty, but delicious non-the-less. My wife enjoyed her Breakfast Tofu Veggie Scramble. We were stuffed when we left and had to come back later that day to try the Vegan Key Lime Cheesecake and Chocolate Espresso Cake. Both were delicious! This place comes very highly recommended by us.

Pros: Vegan Breakfast Options, Selection of Vegan Desserts, Atmosphere and Staff

Amazing!

My husband and I wanted a fancy dinner but we didn’t want to go out for our Anniversary so we ordered food here for delivery! They serve you a lot of delicious food so, the price might seem a lot at first but it is worth it. My husband and I discovered we could have both eat from one plate (we ordered the Kung Pao Tofu) if you see it that way, it is way cheaper. I also ordered the vegan Key Lime Cheesecake and it is to die for! The meanu is easy to read and specifies what is vegan and whats not which for me is super important. We will definitely eat here again.

My favorite restaurant

This is my all time favorite restaurant. I come to the keys for work often and always stop here. I've taken many friends here over the years and most of the meat eaters have liked it. If you aren't a vegan the truffle fries are the best. The Asian peanut bowl is also one of my favorites. If you are vegan, vegetarian, or just a healthy eater you will like the cafe. I would have given it 5 stars if the website would have let me.

Pros: Lots to chose from, Great service

worth the money

This place is expensive, but definitely worth it! There's so many vegan options it was hard for me to order. The spring rolls are the best I've ever had anywhere else..you only get 2, but they're huge! I also had the peanut stir fry and it was packed with veggies with such a good flavor. I definitely recommend if you're in key west. My non-veg boyfriend also loved his pepper steak cheese sandwich, so great for omnivores as well.

Cons: server was lacking

Key lime cheesecake!

I'm so glad I stopped here for lunch. I had the vegan steak (seitan) pepper sandwich and key lime cheesecake, and both were amazing! My omnivore husband loved his meal as well (the same sandwich, but with regular cheese instead of vegan).

Pros: Many vegan options, Nice area

Cons: A little slow

Amazing

We went to The Cafe for lunch and we were very pleased. They have many vegan options and most, if not all of them, of the non-vegan options can easily be made vegan with a simple change. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was great!

Pros: Great food & amazing vegan desert, Very friendly staff, Fun atmosphere and decor

Cons: On the more expensive side

Excellent vegan options

This cafe is 'almost veggie'.. I'm not sure why they don't just sub the few meat options they have with vegan meats instead. Saying that, the vegan options here are really good and it's by far the best place in Key West for Vegan food. Went here twice during our stay: had the kung pow tofu and the curry noodles; both were delicious!

Pros: has vegan deserts!, great vegan options

Bravo. Beyond my expectation. Incdredibly good and serving size too big for my 6' 3", 250 pound body to eat. Leftovers were great. Go there.

a must when on vacation

Key West isn't the most vegan friendly place. The Cafe is in a great location, near Duval where most of the action is. The veggie burger was better than the falafel, I love the bean salad side.

great cafe in key west

I ate the kung pao tofu dish and it was amazing! it had a slight kick to it and the portion was huge, I was struggling to finish it. But i still ordered 2 desserts (1 to take away) I had the chocolate/white chocolate pudding which was one of the best vegan desserts I've ever had! I also had the watermelon, cucumber and lime juice which was so refreshing!

Pros: really good vegan options!

Cons: a little expensive. the tofu kung pao was around 1

Deserves 5 Stars!

Happy Cow won't let me rate 5 Stars, max 4 because of non- veg restaurant. But this is a 5 star review. The Cafe honestly caters for everyone! There are many items on the menu marked as vegan, but don't forget to actually mention when ordering you want it vegan. Meals that can be made vegan have a star next to them on the menu. The first time I got a sandwich with regular cheese, which was promptly changed for me. The deserts are amazing and there are plenty of vegan deserts. My favorite of course the Key Lime Pie!
They also have pizza and even though I didn't try it yet it looked very tasty! I highly recommend this place as there is so much choice.

Pros: Large choice of vegan meals and deserts

Cons: You must mention that you want a certain menu item
