5 STARS! - Edit
When eating vegan at a restaurant, a terrific restaurant leaves me with the impression that it’s “terrific for a vegan restaurant”. The Cafe’s food competes with the best casual restaurants I have ever eaten in - vegan or not!! Fresh, delicious, extremely tasty. The chef is a genius!!! Also the staff is amazing and knowledgeable - especially Branden. She is a star!!!

Hands down best vegan and veg options in Key West - Edit
We stumbled across this GEM of a restaurant last time in Key West 8 years ago and we were very excited to go back on this trip. It is not full veg, but most of the menu has vegan/veg fare. The food is FANTASTIC and plentiful. I had the quinoa salad my wife had an Asian inspired salad with cashews and edamame with blackened tofu. Incredible. We had vegan carrot cake and vegan green tea ice cream for dessert. It was probably the best carrot cake we have ever had. We would give it 5 stars if We could.

Deserves 5 stars! - Edit
Tons of vegan options for breakfast, lunch and dinner! They have lots of dishes with tofu, and any breakfast item with egg can be substituted with scrambled tofu. The staff is very knowledgeable about veganism. They also have vegan friendly drinks and desserts. What I found most exciting is that they have the only vegan key lime pie in key west! It was so good
Read morePros: Knowledgeable about veganism, Good location, easy to find parking , Everything very good quality
Cons: Slightly expensive, Not completely vegan

RUDE - Edit
Excellent food but AWFUL service. We have visited twice and the staff were extremely rude to us both times. We ordered take out due to us both feeling under the weather and not wanting to expose the staff to our illness. When we ate outside a staff member came out and yelled at us for wasting the take away packaging. We explained to her our reasoning for not wanting to dine inside and expose them. She actually asked us to leave, stating ‘you can’t be here’. We also hate wasting anything and take utensils, etc everywhere we go to reduce our waste. By far the rudest people we have encountered on our trip. Despite their amazing vegan options, we may not return.

This needs 5 stars. Literally they will make anything off the menu vegan. - Edit
The staff is well versed with what vegan is. And it’s true they will modify everything on the menu to suite your needs. They have vegan meats, cheeses, and probably the best dips and sauces you have ever had.

Spicy Noodles - Edit
The food was really great! I tried the Szechuan noodles with tofu and my friend tried the falafel and Israeli bean salad. Both were delicious! The menu was really confusing on portions and had a section weirdly labeled “food food.” I added tofu to my noodles and that was $4 USD. To me that was expensive but the portions were pretty large, it’s just a lot of money compared to similar cafes.

Don’t miss this one - Edit
Almost everything on the menu can be made into a vegan dish. The food is DELICIOUS and the service is wonderful. We’ve only been in key west for two days and we’ve eaten here both days. No complaints here at all. If I could’ve given five stars I would’ve but happy cow wouldn’t let me because it’s not completely vegan/vegetarian.

One of the best around KW - Edit
Until today, every Key West place with vegan options had about one option and pretty much was a bar food place. This place, for starters, the staff were friendly and took great care of us. We started with truffle fries, edamame, & the spinach gyoza. Everything came out hot. Tastiest, crispy truffle fries ever (but withold the parmesan cheese or ask if they have vegan parmesan). Delicious spinach gyoza. Nice, crispy, crunchy gyoza. Good picatta. A massive amount of food. A good, non-bar food restaurant. Menu has many choices.

Great Vegan Meal - Edit
We originally visited The Café on a recent family trip to Key West. My husband and I, the vegans and our family found the food excellent and the staff very accommodating of our dietary preferences. Our omnivore children (adults), however, were unimpressed, even though we've had plenty of successful vegetarian meals with them at other places.
Read moreMy husband and I know visit Key West annually (without children, who are now grown). We’ve come to love The Cafe and often visit more than once during our trip. We really love the large selection of vegan options, something we rarely can find I a restaurant at home. We enjoy the wide selection so much that often, we are pigs, getting appetizers as well as entrees. Although The Cafe offers several vegan desserts, we always find we like the appetizers & main dishes best.
The brunch also is excellent! Breakfast is available, but I’ve never eaten that meal.

Food so nice we ate here twice - Edit
Ate here for dinner ordering the Philly (filled with seitan and mushies- so juicy and flavorful) and built our own stir fry with tofu, soba noodles, spicy Szechuan sauce. Came back the next day for brunch getting the vegan Benedict (avocado hollandaise was delish) and the falafel pita. Everything was fantastic but the Philly and falafel were the favorite. Don’t forget to order the vegan key lime cheesecake.. the best in key west!!

Cute spot off Duval Street with some outside seating. Very friendly staff and several vegan options. We had the veggie (vegan) burger and vegan meatball sub - because as the server reminded us, where else can you get a vegan meatball sub? We were also excited to have their very delicious vegan key lime pie! Definitely recommend!

Fantastic food - Edit
What a great find. Clearly marked vegan options on the menu with plenty to choose from. The quinoa avocado salad was amazing. Added tofu which made it a large portion. Only room I had left for was the vegan key lime cheese cake. Oh sooo good!!! The staff was very friendly and attentive. I will come back in 2 days to try some other food.

Not a Happy Vegan/ rude response from management - Edit
I am very disappointed in my to go meal. We ordered the Mahi sandwich and Falafel Sandwich. They were good. We got a side salad and sweet potato fries that were supposed to come with ketchup I requested because the dipping sauce wasn't vegan. The fries were limp and undercooked so I guess I didn't need ketchup. wasted money there. Also ordered 2 orders of the Vegan spring rolls. They were dripping in oil, not sure why. Grease all over our shirts. I usually try to frequent Vegan friendly places when traveling. Not sure where I will eat next time. Definitely disappointed.
