Stellar place with delicious fake meat. - Edit
I used to eat mammals 3 meals a day, so when I had to take it out of my diet, I kept looking for meat-like options. This is the best restaurant I have found for fake meat yet. Go out of your way to eat here. Every dish is delicious.

I'm OBSESSED with The Butcher's Son. Absolutely amazing deli meats - 100% vegan. I'm drooling again just thinking about it. As you can see I managed to not even get good pictures because we were so excited to eat. Picture 2 has Brian's hand already snagging the burger. Can't wait to go back.

This place always has a line out the door. The staff are friendly and work hard to get orders out quickly the food is fresh, amazingly good and the dessert are incredible. From the pancakes to the vegan turkey with pesto and melted mozzarella, you can’t go wrong. Just be sure to finish the meal with a cannoli or piece of cheesecake.

If you need a very good vegan fix then this is your place. I had the cheese and steak sandwich and i just cant wrap my head around how awesome it was. The pancake stuffed donut is a must try for breakfast.

I got an original grinder today. I loved my sandwich. It was interesting with not only fake meats but a mashed potato like filling and Jalepenos. I don't really know but I enjoyed it. I would highly reccomend.

Worth the wait for absolutely amazing food - Edit
My friends and I got the Killer BLAT, the Fried Mozzarella and Meatballs, and the BLT and they were each so delicious. When we got there the line was out the door, however the food was definitely worth the wait. We also got the maple donuts and we’re not let down at all! Such amazing vegan food and I wish there was one closer to me!

I mean...is there anything to be said that hasn't already been said in the previous reviews? This place is amazing and I wish I could eat here every day. This is my go to restaurant to take non-vegans because I feel it's a bit of an eye opener. Vegan food CAN be delicious and satisfying! And that's definitely what you get when you eat here.

Like heaven between two pieces of bread. I love this place and everything that I’ve had from their menu so far. I even took some of my non vegan friends and family here and have also brought a few sandwiches to my co workers to try and they all like and say “I can do this” lol. The Butcher's Son is phenomenal! Unfortunately, everyone else knows about it now. It's crazy busy like all the time. The food is worth the wait and crappy parking. Really hope there's a 2nd location coming. Peter and co keep things fresh by tweaking the menu often. Breakfast is insane and those sandwiches are game changers!!! There's no wrong choice off this menu!

This restaurant had a variety of sandwiches and some salads. I ordered the Original Grinder, which had a large portion of mock meat along with a lot of toppings. It was very good. I had a potato salad with it. The place was busy but not overcrowded when I visited, and pleasantly informal.

We only had time to get take away on our last day in the USA. The queue was long and the tables were full but I really wanted to try it. I got a brownie, a cookie and a cannoli. They were all delicious. Wish I’d had another day to eat a main meal.

Six of use went for brunch on a Sunday morning at 9:30 (two vegan, four Omni) and everything we ordered was delicious! Note: if waiting is an issue for you, it was already pretty crowded - no tables inside, but some available outside. Order at the counter, then food comes up at a separate counter.

They food is all delicious, and they have so many options! If you visit one place in Berkeley, this should be the one. During the 3 weeks I spent in Berkeley I think I went here for 6 meals.

While visiting my cousin (I'm the vegan) we went here 3 different meals. I would have gone everyday if I had a car! Absolutely incredibly delicious food! She even went back to pick up a cheesecake for her husbands early bday celebration the night before I left. They all loved it! The fried mozzarella is what dreams are made of! The fried buffalo "chicken" "bacon" "blue cheese" "ranch" sandwich was to die for! The Reuben was amazing as well and so was the deli hoagie! Can't say enough wonderful things about the food! The place is cute, very clean, funky fun vibe and great customer service. I wish I wasn't a 6 hour plane ride away!
