Great bakery and coffee spot

Wide selection of baked items and coffee options. Staff is kind and helpful. Located in a vegan strip mall which makes for fun shop hopping.

Pros: Delicious, Nice staff

Amazing Pasties

I recently had a breakfast sandwich and almond pastry and the pastry was probably the best I’ve ever had. One of the few vegan bakeries that’s NOT also gluten free.

Pros: All vegan , Next door to Food Fight (vegan grocery), Not gluten free

Cons: Unfriendly staff, Dirty

Could Be So Much More...

I stopped by Sweetpea on my way to Food Fight Grocery and thought it looked a little rough around the edges upon first walking in.

It's a pretty massive space, though it seems as though it's not being utilized or taken advantage of which was unfortunate to see.

I got a vegan peach cobbler pastry and it was pretty good.

I went to Sweetpea a second time with a friend and tried their granola breakfast - and sadly it was really no good at all. The granola was overly sweet and very little fresh fruit on top. I ate less than half the portion I was served.

I don't have any desire to return.

Pros: Vegan Baked Goods is always a Good Idea., Free Wifi., Casual space to work or chat with a friend.

Cons: Interior is a bit dingy and rough around the edges, Slow service., The food is nothing special. Coffee is pretty bad.

cute place, pretty good food!

My partner and I took a couple of pastries to go, a chocolate croissant and a savory tempeh croissant, those were veryyy good. We also shared a breakfast sandwich, which was absolutely delicious, and biscuits and gravy, which was just okay. Both the biscuits and the gravy were a little bland and not savory enough for me. Overall we had a good experience here and I would like to return to try more from their menu. Had hemp milk in my coffee for the first time here and loved it!

Pros: both pastries and breakfast dishes to choose from, very cool location

Cons: some food needs more flavor/finesse

Best Croissant I Have Had

I just had the best croissant, vegan or not, at Sweet Pea. The Croissant was light and flakey, and was stuffed with spiced tempeh. This is a great place to chill and eat with a laptop or company.

The Vegan Reuben is also absolutely delicious!!

Pros: great croissants, great atmosphere

meh

Went here on a hot Sunday within an hour of closing time. They only had a few dessert options left; the display cases looked completely picked-over, which was a disappointment. Inside was incredibly warm, so it wasn't comfortable to sit there. Husband and I each picked a different cookie; nothing special. I've had better vegan cookies at Whole Foods. I really wanted to like this place, but this particular visit wasn't the best. Probably going earlier in the day would mean more options.

Pros: all-vegan, next to other vegan shops in the vegan "mini mall"

Cons: no air conditioning?

Don't bother.

Ugh. So not worth stopping in. Place is small, dirty and visually unappealing. Tea was like water and croissant had zero flavor and was hard. It has so much potential in this cute vegan mini mall. Too bad.

Pros: yes.

Yep

Hollandaise biscuit was outstanding. Fresh squeeze OJ was great. Very casual spot. Pressed my nose up against the bakery case but avoided that temptation for now.

wow.

The baked goods here are simply out of this world. The savory croissants are some of the best pastries I've ever had. Their danishes, donuts, and other sweets are also phenomenal. They serve sandwiches for lunch, and the tuna (chickpea) sandwich is probably my favorite sandwich anywhere.

Amazing Quiche

Seriously the best quiche I have ever had, not to mentions the super satisfying buiscuts and gravy. I love this bakery and wish I could eat there every morning. Not only were the entrees perfectly seasoned and delicious, the prices were very reasonable. We also bought a box of day old baked goods to take home, and they were great!! We had a chocolate chip scone, chocolate muffins and cinnoman crumb muffins, all this great food and vegan scene at this restaurant and others in the area made us consider moving to Portland.

Pros: best buiscuts and gravy, best quiche, and the best scone I've ever had, I would be here

With choice of milks?! Soy, almond, coconut, hemp, hazelnut, rice!! And a big cookie to go with it. I missed out on the wide selection earlier in the day and still happy as heck. :)

Beautiful spot to work

I stopped here to have a look at the cakes and actually ended up buying a cookie. It was so sweet and buttery despite being vegan. It was amazing!! I sat inside the bakery to do some work and felt very at ease - there was even free water available. The place was very busy!

Pros: Beautiful food, Wide selection, Good prices

Cons: Can be quite busy, Runs out fast, A bit dark inside

Vegan muffins, cookies, bagels...

Such a treat to walk into a bakery and be able to choose anything on the menu. Plenty of indulgent treats. Thought the muffins and cookies were delicious! Lovely, super-friendly staff too. And a cool wee vegan clothes/accessories shop next door!

Amazing!

I've been here each time I've visited Portland, and have never been disappointed. My husband says it has the best vegan reubens he's ever tried, and I always love my sandwiches, ice cream, baked goods - I doubt there's a mediocre item on the menu! Super awesome.
