Maybe the best bakery in the world - Edit
For my taste, the bagels and pastries and menu items are all pretty much perfect. The coffee was better in the heart era but that's a minor quibble.

Turtle sandwich - Edit
I ordered the Turtle power Sandwich, and my mom and sis ordered egg salad and chickpea salad and both said they liked it. I found my sandwich to be a little sloppily made and had too much sauce, tho the flavors were good, it wasn’t fun to eat and I didn’t finish it, it was just too rich. My sister did find a hair in her sandwich which makes things a little less enjoyable to eat. We also didn’t care for the pickle that was bright yellow, clearly still a cheap brand containing yellow number 5, why not do a nicer pickle if you’re a sandwich spot? The place is pretty dusty, shelves covered in dusty old artifacts that would be more interesting if they weren’t filthy. The place needs a deep clean. We ordered the chocolate peanut butter bar for dessert and that was very tasty. I’d come back but only for a baked good.

Great food and pastries! - Edit
Came here on a Sunday morning and it wasn't too crowded. Ordered a pastry (the almond ring), an almond milk latte, and a breakfast sammie. Everything was DELICIOUS! I could only get through about half the almond ring and half the sandwich but everything was just so good. I cannot say enough nice things. The staff was super friendly.
Read moreI also took a chocolate croissant to go and it was also delicious (even after a day).
Only negative thing I can think of is that it took awhile to get my food but I think that's just because I was hungry and impatient😄

Where do you get your protein? - Edit
Here. I came here for a pick-me-up lunch on a trip and ordered the tofu scramble. Now this. Is the BOMB. It's a giant mound of tofu scramble and tempeh bacon to top it off. Essentially a protein platter with some veggies in between. Delicious. I also shared their charlie brown bar which was stellar, a peanut butter lover's dream. The sandwiches they had were also enjoyed and the maple bacon waffles are a welcome twist on traditional waffles.

One of my favorites! - Edit
I have loved all the coffee, sandwiches, and pastries I've tried. I want to try them all, but the menu is extensive and the pastry case is huge! The pastries I've had (snickerdoodle, & tofu scramble croissant) have had the chewiness to them that I seek in pastries. The sandwiches are filling and fresh. The staff are great, too!

We used Sweetpea dessert for our wedding! Everything was amazing and all of our non-vegan guests were shocked that the pastries, cake, and cupcakes were vegan. Highly recommend for your next special occasion!

Came for lunch and could not be happier with what I ate! I got the Higgins (think vegan Italian) and it was so yummy. Came with a side salad. In addition, my group split a coconut pecan scone (soooo good) and their “Charlie brown” treat which was a chocolate, peanut butter, and graham cracker crust thing that was delightful.

Great Impromptu Stop - Edit
My husband was hungry and I wasn't so we stopped in here and I'm so glad we did. He got the Portlander-a huge plate of every yummy vegan breakfast food. I got a small chicken Caesar salad which was the perfect light meal, especially after I added a piece of the tempeh bacon from the Portlander into it. Kind staff, great vibe, lots of locals.

Very disappointed:( Baked goods seem very hit or miss. - Edit
Went to sweet pea and got a chocolate chip cookie, blueberry coffee cake, and a tofu scramble croissant. The cookie was really good, and had a nice texture. But the blueberry coffee cake was very tough almost like a dry sponge? And not moist…almost seemed like it had been overcooked or left out too long. (I went in the morning though) The tofu scramble croissant was bad as well, not very flaky like a croissant should be, and the middle was very raw, like play dough. So raw that I just ate the tofu scramble inside and only the first layer of the outside, I had to discard the rest since it was just way too undercooked. Overall disappointed because there was so much hype around it.

Obsessed - Edit
I’m obsessed with their almond pastry and the Charlie Brown bar(also available at New Seasons 😁). So far, we have had the Grilled Cheese, Reuben and Untuna (grilled with cashew cheese 😋) Sandwiches and I would order all of them again. Probably one of the best Untuna and Reuben sandwiches I have had. Definitely a must stop while in Portland.
