Our chicken was burnt? - Edit
I really wanted to like this place but our chicken sandwich was burnt. Also it was spicy. We only discovered it once we got home (takeaway), which was quite disappointing. My husband had a chicken salad which he liked though, but I didn’t think it was anything special.

UPDATE: THe CHICKEN - Edit
Well what happened is that so many businesses closed in S. Ontario we now have very limited chicken options. Stefano's chicken sandwich, now a whopping $17+ is the best chicken sandwich in town. So I gave it an extra star and might try some of the other options. Also, they how have a PERMINENT location, so the vagueness is gone. Good job!

10 years ago I would have thought the sandwiches were fabulous and wouldn't have scoffed at paying more than what other vegan fair was charging.
But I'm being spoiled here in Toronto. The sandwiches were good but I wasn't bowled over. Likely the price held me back. The hefty $14+ gets you just the sandwich. I liked the chicken but it was similar to all the other deep fried chicken now available in town.
Actually, thinking about it more, I realize they are smaller version of the now closed "Too Cool for School" bakery (honestly I could never remember the name of that place!) Smaller and more expensive.
Also, the sandwiches aren't really available all the time? Just a special pop up at that location? Or just every Sunday? It's a little vague...

Best Tiramisu! - Edit
Holy smokes! This place was great. I loved it all. I went for the salmon and mashed potatoes and was blown away. It had that algae, flavor spot on. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. And the tiramisu!?! Chefs kiss. One of the best I’ve ever had.

Incredible place to eat! - Edit
I travel for a living, so I get to try a lot of different places and this place was AWESOME! I got the STEFANO’S STACKED FOCACCIA SANDWICH I gotta say it was in my top 5 meals I've had. And the Tiramisu was so rich. Looking forward to my next trip.

Great brunch - Edit
Went there on a Sat for brunch. Good that we made a reservation because it was a full house. The food was very good, even though service was a little slow. Highly recommended.

Brie was the highlight - Edit
We stopped at Stefano’s for dinner and started with the Brie. It was excellent, but sadly it was also the highlight of the meal. The New School Salmon was interesting and definitely fish-ish but the texture was quite dry and I think a creamy sauce would have helped. The muffuletta was a big letdown. It didn’t have a good strong olive relish, it was cut with too many other veggies like celery. The tiramisu was good.

Pros: Excellent Brie

Hidden gem with comfortable atmosphere. - Edit
The exterior of Stefano’s is very unassuming and we almost walked by before noticing “plant forward” on the door. Delicious vegan brunch or lunch spot, with great service and a comfortable atmosphere! I could easily see becoming a regular.

Tried the vegan chicken sandwich and tiramisu for delivery - Edit
solid plant-based comfort meal! 🌱🍰 The vegan chicken sandwich was flavorful and satisfying, though a bit standard, and the tiramisu was creamy, sweet, and a perfect ending, small portion though

Cute Diner - Edit
I ordered the eggs in purgatory with a side arugula salad. The eggs in purgatory also came with a side of bread. The tomato sauce was pretty good, but nothing really wowed me. I might come back to try more of their menu with my partner who likes Italian food.

Great casual spot - Edit
Stefano’s is the second restaurant from the same chef as Gia, and I think that the quality is just as good with menu items that are slightly more casual. I think the service here is incredible. There’s a lot on the menu that’s delicious. I think their sandwiches are really good and we also enjoyed many of their apps. Really delicious onion rings too.

Mostly Great - Edit
Stefano's is a fine vegan restaurant for a satisfying meal. We ordered two meals: a Chicken Parmigiana and Mushroom Bistecca. The Chicken Parm just fell flat. The pasta and sauce was serviceable, but the chicken was thin and tough. The Mushroom Bistecca was worth the order. The mushroom is moist and flavorful, and the sauce really lifts the dish up into something special. The Tiramisu was equally as impressive, using biscoff cookies instead of lady fingers, and dressed with a to-die-for cream. With all that being said, Stefano's mostly brings an exceptional experience and is worth the trip

With ordered a large array of appetizers to share and everyone agreed the entire meal was fantastic. Great staff and amazing food. We will definitely return. The only negative is the potential for having the direct sun in your face as

Funky atmosphere, great staff, delicious food. The New School salmon was unreal. The meatballs had a uniquely crunchy exterior that I’ve been dreaming about. Great spot for lunch or a light supper.

Great spot for Italian food - Edit
Good food and service
Read moreWe tried
Meat balls and Arangini for appetizers
Then had lasagna and chick'n Parmesan for main
Cheese cake for dessert
Everything was good and fresh but could have used a bit more spices and herbs
We had to ask for chili oil to add some flavor to the food
Also the chick'n was good but a very thin piece like a cracker
Would like to try other food options
Pros: Good vegan food, Good service
Cons: Lack flavours, Could use more spices and herbs

Ah-mazing - Edit
This place is fantastic! The staff were warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, aranchini balls, and meatballs for apps. The meatballs had a great texture and were so flavorful, the mozz sticks were on point and the rice balls were very tasty. We all really liked the lasagna. My daughter liked her chicken Parm minus the sauce and cheese 😂. My husband had the mushroom steak which was very good. I absolutely LOVED the bib salad! We actually had all this for lunch then CAME BACK the same day for more lasagna and salad, it was that good! The staff again are amazing! Can't say enough about this place! It's so nice to have vegan food that not just comfort, fried food. This was so fresh and delicious!!

Dinner was perfect. Really cutting edge vegan food - Edit
Was really excited to come here after trying one of their sandwiches at VegTO fest, and was not disappointed! Everything we had was a winner, my top picks are the lasagna and olive oil cake.
Read moreI tried the “salmon” dish and was mindblown at how realistic it was! I’d been following NewSchool Foods (the supplier of the salmon cut) for a while and was sooo happy to finally see it available. It was fun to try once but it was so realistic it actually spooked me a bit. If you don’t know about New School I highly recommend giving them a look, they use really interesting tech to create their product.
Stefano’s seems very connected to the vegan community which is another huge plus. Their deli cuts are from Nonno’s in Hamilton, who are also amazing.
