Not THAT hard to find and great food - Edit
I read so much about how hard it is to find so I got curious. Yokoyama station is big. Everything is hard to find, took me years of coming here to take the right exit. If you have the correct address as indicated on their website it’s actually super easy. It’s in the JOINUS mall on the restaurant level B1F (basement). Assuming you come from the gates, just take the ‘west exit’ and you’ll be right there. JOINUS is on the lefthand side, you can’t miss it. Then go downstairs and follow the ‘JOINUS DINING’ signage. Took me mere minutes. Walked in and there was it. The food was good, what’s not to love about Japanese curry. You can pick your size and toppings from traditional to curios (falafel) and customize your experience. One thing that stood out was that unlike any other vegan place in Tokyo I was the only foreigner there and it seems to be frequented by locals much more than other restaurants, but that’s just my very subjective impression from going there once. Usually that’s a sign the food is authentic. Wish I had time (of the appetite) to try more. I’ll definitely be back.

Excellent Curry - Edit
This place can be a bit difficult to find. To be honest, I went twice and the second time was more or less mostly because I wanted to know if I could find it again. That being said, everything I had was really good. Probably one of the best places I went to during my recent stay in Tokyo and would have been well worth the trips to Yokohama by itself even if I hadn't had other business there.

We’ve always wanted to try the curry of Peace Cafe, but we were too lazy to go outside Tokyo to try it…until today. I tried their spiciest curry, which I like better than the spinach curry. My partner prefers the spinach curry tho.
Read moreWhat I like about their curry is that it tasted like it’s hand-made. Maybe because it is? We’re not sure since we didn’t ask, but either way it was so good. The tofu katsu and the soy meat karaage were okay since we’ve tried better ones from other cafes.

You can get here by walking underground from Yokohama station. Ask for directions towards the JOINUS area. There are multiple eateries and shops.

Went with someone else and we both had curries with tofu katsu and I had vegetables on mine as well. They were both delicious! You can choose how much rice you get as well. They have an English menu but it is missing a few things that the Japanese menu has for some reason. My curry was about 1400 yen (about $10 usd) and the portion was good for the price. I would definitely stop by again if we’re in the area again to try the ice cream.

Much much better than your average Japanese curry - Edit
This was an absolute gem in the middle of Yokohama station. I made the mistake of not looking at the address and relying on the map within the app which didn't show my current location correctly. Once I used the Google Map app directly and noted from the address that it was in the Joinus area, I was able to find the location within the foodcourt, by Takashimaya in the basement.
Read moreThere were about 4 or 5 curries, all looking great. I love spinach curry which is not easy to get. I got that plus additional toppings of roasted vegetables and a delicious tofu cutlet. The price was not bad, and I topped it off with lemon and ginger ice cream. There were two other flavours.
If I'm ever in the area I will definitely try it again.

They have their second branch in Hawaii and I bet it’s as good! But the service here is outstanding so polite and fluent in English

Read moreI had the spicy curry with brown rice and soy chunks karaage and a free ice rooibos for 1140 yen. You can choose from three sizes of rice for the same price. The largest was very filling and I had the next size down the next day.
Spinach curry and tofu cutlet (tofukatsu) were amazing. This cost 1200yen. The salad bowl looks amazing too. Many gf options, just ask. The curries are naturally gf I think.

Even though the menu is all in Japanese it's super easy to order. The toppings all look delicious, I tried the tofu katsu and the sunny side up egg, with their original curry and brown rice. I also ordered a salad and coconut ice cream for dessert .
