Tasty, but pricey ice cream sandwiches

Stopped here for dessert after dinner at Hakkou Ramen Izuru since we passed by a couple of times trying to find the ramen place! Saw they offered vegan ice cream sandwiches so we decided to try.

We ordered a Fig (because it contains alcohol) and a Hanamitu Caramel. Both were very good, but very small, and quite expensive. The two sandwiches were the same price as half of our dinner! They also appeared to be prepackaged, so mass produced and just sold as is.

We probably won't try any other sandwiches, but if those are your thing, you might want to give them a shot.

Pros: Vegan ice cream sandwiches!

Cons: Expensive

Variety options!

I had a great vegan wrap at this place. The seating is limited. It’s in the middle of up Yokohama station, so it might be a bit hard to find. They have a variety of vegan and vegetarian options. A great customer service.

Pricey but great food

Great place to eat some flavorful Arabian dishes. Their vegan shawarma was delicious! The staff was accommodating and polite.

lovely Arabian style coffee

I tried a vegan rolled sandwich with falafel, which tasted great
1320 yen sounds a little pricey, but this cafe/delicatessen is a casual version of the fancy restaurant of the same name, so the presentation is quite nice and I really enjoyed Arabic coffee (300 yen)
According to a staff member, they will change menus soon and stopped serving a vegan burger now, but there will definitely be many vegan options including new vegan curry
It is located in the "Foodies' Part II" section of the basement of the Takashimaya Department Store

Good shawarma!

Every time I've walked past this place, they've been sold out of their vegan burger. But I decided to stop here and try the roasted cauliflower shawarma and it was good! The sauce was especially good and a little citrusy. Very fast service and vegan options are clearly labeled. There is seating next to the counter but not much and it feels like an afterthought. My dining experience was less-than-great due to two of the rowdiest children ever, but that is not the restaurant's fault and the staff even came out to try and entertain the children. The staff was very nice and made sure everything was clean. I'd like to come back sometime and try the vegan burger if they have it in stock.

Pros: Quick and easy, Good shawarma

Cons: Difficult to find, Limited seating, May be sold out of some things

The worst vegan burger I ever had

We paid almost 4000 yen for 2 burgers and a small salad!
Wouldn't mind the price that much, but the burger tasted just like a piece of bread with boiled cauliflower...
So disappointing.
We talked with the manager about the taste, and suggested for example to have a soy patty instead or something else. Or, at least make it taste better...

In the future maybe I will try something else

Lots of options, a bit overpriced for the quality

I got the three sides and one salad option for 1,404 yen prior to tax (drink ordered separately). The serving size is a bit disappointing for the price. And the flavors are a bit too mellow. The falafel was very dry and the sauce isn't too good either. The potatoes and the tomato dish were ok, and the salad is mediocre. I also tried the ice cream sandwich. The taste is also too mellow, it was hardly sweet. Imagine it's like eating ice cream without any sugar in it.

Would give five stars if I could

Really enjoy the cauliflower, cauliflower burger, cumin rice and salads. There are unusual ingredients like pomegranate and sacha inchi nuts in the salads. Fries and hummus were also good. The only thing that I didn't care for was the moroheiya itself in the Moroheiya and Falafel with cumin rice- it's a leaf that has a sticky, gelatinous texture, and when it was cooked down it was somewhat reminiscent of yamaimo- extremely sticky and just not to my personal taste. If you like things like natto, it might be for you.

I've had all the ice cream sandwiches at home via the Far East Bazaar online shop and particularly recommend Hanamitu (Flower Nectar) Soymilk, Fig, and Almond.

They do have some seats for eating in.

Love how they even mark the beers vegan (rare in Japan). They have some original beers.

Worth the Struggle to Find

We were super excited to try this new restaurant, but after almost an hour of looking around the Takashimaya Food Ports for it, we nearly gave up. That is, until I swallowed my pride and asked the concierge for help (note to the wise: start there if you can’t find it right away) and was pointed straight to it. Although the price was a little steep, the flavors more than made up for my earlier frustrations. The roasted cauliflower burger was absolutely fabulous. The hummus, potatoes, stuffed peppers, and falafel were all good as well. And the gelato sandwiches? My goodness, I couldn’t tell you the last time I was able to eat an ice cream sandwich and these absolutely lived up to my distant memories. Overall, I highly recommend this place. And for reference, it’s located in Food Port 2 on the backside of Audrey and across from House of Rose.

Pros: Many vegan options., Ice cream sandwiches!!, Everything was tasty.

Cons: Difficult to find., Expensive for the quantity of food.

Spicy wonderful

Carvaan Delicatessen is brand new Arabian take-out restaurant located in the Foodies’ Port area of the Yokohama Takashimaya department store (level B1), operated by Far East Bazaar. So new, in fact, that it opened yesterday! We swung by on our way home from work, and were very pleasantly surprised.

The shop is beautiful to look at, with artfully-crafted food, a small eat-in corner, and friendly staff. The surprise came in how many vegan options there were— the majority of the dishes were vegan!

Everything looked delicious and we couldn’t make up our minds, so I asked the kind and helpful gentleman behind the counter to make us two Arabian Mezze boxes (1296 yen each) with different items. His selections did not disappoint. Everything was healthy and delicious, with a wide variety of aromas and flavors. YUM!!

Of course, a visit to Far East Bazaar is not complete without one of their famous gelato sandwiches. It was every bit as good as I’d heard it would be.

The food is a little pricey, but if you’re looking for something a little different to eat, I can’t recommend this shop enough. They get bonus points for the compostable packaging too. Eating here is like a trip across the world.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, clearly marked , Delicious , Friendly staff

Cons: Not cheap
