Just amazing - Edit
The presentation of the food alone is worth the money but of course, the proof is in the pudding. On this occasion though I didn't actually have a pudding!! I had the Pea Panelle and the Glazed Okonomiyaki. Both dishes tasted amazing, full of flavours. Highly recommend this place if you want good quality tasty food.

Delicious vegan food - Edit
Went out for a meal with my boyfriend and his parents.
Read moreTried a bit of my boyfriend's broccoli soup starter and it was delicious! Also his dad had some little fried bites that were super tasty.
For my main I had a Caesar salad which was yummy, the dressing was nice and creamy, the vegan chicken was great, the croutons were gluten free and I don't have much to compare them to gluten free bread-wise but they were nice enough (Coated in a caesar dressing its hard for anything to taste bad).
I also tried a bite of the fish pie, and mushroom wellington which were also just as tasty, the fish pie had a very fishy flavour just like I remember it. I managed to squeeze in an affogato for pud - yum. Left very full and satisfied - everyone really enjoyed their food!
Also the staff were nice and friendly! Good atmosphere and such a pretty surrounding area too. Definitely will be coming back :)

Very nice food in a lovely location - Edit
This restaurant is light and airy, serves different dishes to suit different plates, we visited on a Sunday and there were classics like a "sea" pie and roast on the menu. The starters were delicious if a little on the oily side. We had a "sea" pie which had samphire, tofu and sweet potato in a creamy sauce topped with potato mash and it was a very creative version of the classic fish pie (which to be fair I have never tried in my life). We also had a plate called "okonomiyaki" which was not what I expected at all because it really didn't look like an okonomiyaki, but nevertheless it was very good, with flavour and lots of textures. The desserts were good too, we had a chocolate sundae which was massive and very filling and a raspberry dessert a bit like a fool, very refreshing.

Delicious - Edit
Lovely restaurant with friendly, interested staff. The chef himself ambles around to see how you are finding it. My friend was singing the praises of the mushroom and chestnut wellington we all had and wants to make this place a regular Sunday lunch venue for us. Forgot to take photos of the desserts, but they were all great, and smaller than expected, so easy to fit in after a substantial main course

I am regularly here now, one of my favourites. The menu changes seasonally apart from a few customer favourites which are staples. Enjoyed an aloo gobi burger, and f*shcake with samphire (a Norfolk gem), plus chocolate ice cream sundae with brownie bits and a strawberry mousse tart - all gorgeous. Always friendly service. A great restaurant

Food with care - but way overpriced - Edit
This is a nice little place, in a good location close to Norwich. We had high expectations, and whilst some aspects really delivered, some really didn't.
Read moreThe food was clearly freshly prepared. Some aspects were delicious (the Okonomiyaki) and packed with flavour. We also had the Panelle (a little bland but with a nice garlicy aoli) and the parmagiana which, whilst tasty, was a little oily.
All fairly minor things which usually wouldn't bother us, but the main reason for 3 stars, and sticking point here is the price. When paying £20 for a main meal (especially at lunch) you expect a lot and this just didn't justify the price. For example, the Okonomiyaki (although delicious in individual components) comes with a tiny portion of rice, a pretty half hearted salad (leaves) and only a couple of stems of tempura broccoli. For us, the food just didn't justify the price. The parmagiana (the dish itself was tasty and the cheese sauce was good) was £18 and to serve it in a pretty small portion, with another small half hearted salad and a tiny portion of coleslaw (one spoonful) just felt like a bit of a rip off. If this was the only thing you were eating with no sides, as an adult, for either lunch or dinner, you would be very hungry very quickly...
It's unclear what this place is trying to be, the atmosphere and decor suggest a lunchtime cafe for a bite to eat but the prices suggest high-end dining and for us the food just didn't deliver, in quality or quantity. We happily pay these prices elsewhere (and indeed were happy to pay them here otherwise we wouldn't have visited) but usually we get a meal that feels worth the price, and here we just feel a little frustrated.
In total we paid £64 for two mains, one starter, two scoops of ice cream and two coffees. Sadly, there are much much better value options in Norwich and we just couldn't justify coming back here.
Pros: The waitress was really lovely, The Okonomiyaki is superb, A rare fully vegan option is the area
Cons: Way too expensive, Portion size-price ratio

You know, I could respond to all those points, but, 80 hours into a 90 hour working week (I can't afford to pay the staff, so I have to do it myself for nothing,) frankly, I don't have the energy, and I'm looking forward to my day off and forgetting about this review... Chris
Read moreEdit, if you're talking about going yo those chain restaurants where they bulk produce and don't involve a chef (for instance, you can get a remarkably unremarkable vegan pizza at Pizza Express for 18 quid,) then, by all means, please go there in future, and save me the stress...

Well worth a visit - Edit
We booked a table here on the back of the 5 star reviews on Happy Cow & were not disappointed. It was hard to choose what to have as everything sounded delicious - such a luxury to have so much choice.
Read moreWe decided to share a starter & plumped for the panelle (fritters served with aioli) which were delightful. I had the okonomiyaki which which delivered an umami punch whilst my partner went for the mushroom wellington which he devoured.
Neither of us are usually dessert people but we couldn’t resist the dessert menu. The orange crème brûlée was zesty & light whilst the rhubarb cranachan was a perfect combination of tart, cream & crunch.
Well worth the 10 min taxi journey out of Norwich city centre. Would definitely come again if we’re ever back in this area.

Never ever fails - Edit
One of the last remaining all vegan eateries in Norwich. I have eaten here many times, and I can honestly say I have never left disappointed. Love and care go into every meal. I particularly adore the Okonomiyaki. Like no dish you'd get elsewhere.

Outstanding vegan restaurant - Edit
This is a lovely place, seeking to use fresh produce sourced as locally as possible. The restaurant itself is spacious and airy, with a modern calm environment. The menu is wholly original, with a good range of choices to suit different tastes. We enjoyed the fabulous Okonomiyaki and Burrito, prepared and presented to perfection. We liked that River Green bucks the 'small plates' trend (although it looked like this available for those that want it), providing imaginative, curated meals.

Amazing & interesting food - Edit
We come here when visiting our daughter in Norwich. I wish it was closer to our home in Cornwall! Even better now they're completely plant based. We had the Japanese pancake which has won awards & it's obvious why - the flavours are so interesting & wonderful, great mix of textures & perfect quantity. The tacos to start were delicious. The red wine we had was excellent too. Service is great & the staff are very friendly. A lovely, calm atmosphere too.

Really delicious food. They managed to squeeze us in as we passed through from Birmingham on a rainy busy evening which we really appreciated. The food we had was flavourful, comforting, fresh and all locally sourced. Would highly recommend and will return if ever in the area again!

Every one of us loved our dishes. I had the delish gluten-free chestnut and mushroom wellington which was the first time I'd been able to have this dish since I went vegan/GF. I also had the meringue sundae which was dreamy!
They also brought me out a yummy birthday brownie! 🎈
Service and atmosphere was fantastic. Will be coming again soon and bringing more friends!

Yummy imaginative food in lovely surroundings. Great staff, friendly and informative. As was my birthday i received a small brownie with candle, the staff member made a joke about singing to me and i said go on and he did! Fun. We had a shared starter, two mains, 1.5 puds and a lovely espresso Martini. Would 10000000% go back!

We visited a few days ago for hubby's birthday. We sampled quite a few dishes between the five of us. The okonomiyaki has to be the star dish! Only took a photo of my dessert (Eton mess)
Recommend!
