Some of the BEST vegan & gluten free food! - Edit
We found this place on the Happy Cow app (again for the win!). We wanted to check out a different part of Seattle since we weren't here for very long and this menu looked like it had a lot of gluten free and vegan options for me. And they definitely did!
Read moreNot only was the service impeccable (this is an order at the counter and seat yourself kind of place where they'll bring you your food), but the atmosphere was awesome. Loved the layout and the decor, along with the really fantastic looking private back patio seating area.
We ended up getting a couple of the vegan gluten free cookies to try also (the Almond Dark Chocolate Chip one as an offering to try since they didn't have any vegan Morning Glory muffins that I really wanted). Both that cookie and the Pistachio one were some if the best cookies I've had to date.
I decided to try The Redwing TLT and added avocado with the pickled veggies and my husband tried the Seasonal Vegetable Hash with smoked tofu. I got a Chai Latte with a shot of espresso and he got a Cayenne Mocha with Almond milk. It was all so freaking delicious! And our server even gave us some great local places to check out afterwards while we were in town. If we lived in this area, we'd definitely be back!
Pros: Vegan options, Gluten Free options, Flavors

Too pricey - Edit
I really wanted to like this place. I was excited to see vegan biscuits and sausage gravy on the menu but was very disappointed. The portion size was very small for $18, and it wasn’t that good. I could discern no sausage at all. I have made much better at home for a quarter of the price (and twice the amount!). Better to go to Cafe Red for cheaper, better and all vegan food!

A Rainier Beach destination gem -deserves a 5 - Edit
From start to finish, we had a fabulous, perfect, eating and relaxing experience at this Ranier Beach restaurant. The moment we walked in, staff stopped us to make sure we understood where all the seating was and understood what our options were when ordering from the menu. This was just the beginning of great service; it continued throughout our dining experience.
Read moreWe enjoyed everything that we ordered, including: the Rainer Beach breakfast with smoked tofu, replacing eggs; the rancheros breakfast, again with smoked tofu; and the TLT.
The vegan options were unique and thankfully did not include processed food substitutes like the impossible burger. Options were either vegan ready or veganizeable.
I hope we can return here someday soon.
Pros: Vegan-ready or easily veganized options , Different seating options inside and outside , Seating upstairs or downstairs
Cons: Neighborhood street parking not easy to find

Cozy Community Cafe - Edit
Redwing Cafe is one of my favorite cafes for delicious food and great coffee or tea. The tofu scramble, TLT, and avocado toast are my favorite meals and they also have excellent vegan pastries, cookies, and cake. I especially love the vegan sesame roll and vegan croissant. On top of great food, Redwing is a community hub with great art being shown, good music occasionally, a cozy place to meet friends, and owners that are kind.

Community - Edit
This is my fave place to get a salad rn, so colorful + crisp. You might wanna add salt to the dressing before drizzling it on. They also make great biscuits + gravy, but the ratio is kinda wild. Next time, I’ll ask for the gravy in a soup container so I can plate it at home. I really love their tofu scramble, I just wish it was like twice as big. The $6 side of potatoes is pretty skimpy too. Unlike everyone else, I’m not super excited about the tea smoked tofu.

Pros: rad folks, cute place, good food
Cons: no vegan egg or cheese, no online ordering, some portions/prices are off

A very vegan friendly vegetarian cafe - Edit
This was our first morning in Seattle just in from New Jersey and we were so pleased to find this cafe close to our Airbnb. There was ample seating inside and out. We ordered at the counter where the staff was very friendly and helpful. (The waitress later gave us suggestions on what we must be sure to see in Seattle as well as the best way to travel around).
Read moreI ordered the seasoned vegetables with smoked tofu. We found a place to sit while our order was being freshly prepared. There was ample seating between the street level, the lower level and back patio. Coffee and water were self service which helps reduce waste.

Solid brunch - Edit
I wish this place was closer to where I live. I’d probably come more often. My partner really liked the biscuits and gravy. Hummus toast was my favorite. I recommend getting a side of the tea smoked tofu (so good) and topping the toast with it and the veggie pickles. Yumm Their soup was also very good. I’d love to come back and try more of their menu.

Great place! - Edit
I love stopping here for breakfast. The staff is knowledgeable (everyone with allergies appreciates that!!) and the food is really good. While most food is vegetarian, they always have vegan baked goods, like tasty blueberry muffins, and other great vegan options like the root veggie hash and vegan biscuits and gravy (contains nuts). The seating area has rotating art (I think from local artists) and from some seats, you get a view of Lake Washington. Street parking is no issue. There is an upcharge for non-dairy milks, but other than that, it's all love!
