I love Jude's! - Edit
Hella surprised to see someone on here say the red beans are bland bc I’ve had them a few times (sans rice) + they were phenomenal. I’m also a huge fan of the sautéed greens, tho they were kinda off the last time I got them, so obviously there’s consistency issues, but the hand-cut fries are always 10/10. I don’t love the Cajun tofu sandwich, but I do keep an eye on their rotating specials waiting for the lentil gumbo to make a comeback.

Pros: some great flavors, cool neighborhood, radical politics
Cons: a little inconsistent

Didn’t have a good experience - Edit
I had been wanting to come to Judes for some time as I saw they had vegan option. We arrived and placed our orders. I ordered the tofu sandwich and red beans and rice. The red beans and rice tasted very under seasoned. So much so that I didn’t even finish it. The tofu sandwich just didn’t taste good to me. In my opinion, all the ingredients of the sandwich just didn’t go well together. Attention to detail also lacked when my gf, who is not vegan, ordered an appetizer and specified chicken (this was heard and repeated by the waitress) and brought out the vegan version instead. It seems as though that they have diminished vegan items from the menu as a lot of items spoken about in previous reviews are no longer there.

the b e s t vegan sandwich! - Edit
Saw so many great reviews for this place on Happy Cow and was excited to finally try it out! I tried the Vegan Spinach Artichoke Dip which was delicious, and I also got the Cajun Tofu Sandwich which was an immediate favorite-the tofu was cooked to perfection. For a drink I got a N/A Cocktail (Afternoon in the Orchard) that was really cute and fun to sip throughout dinner. I’ll definitely be back again!!

Great Food & Atmosphere - Edit
Visited Jude's Old Town for the first time this weekend based on the other reviews and I was not disappointed! Great food, great atmosphere, a nice place to chill and hang out for a while. I had the vegan mushroom etouffee. The bartender mentioned one of the cooks is vegan, which explains why the vegan options they offer are yummy.

Quaint hidden gem - Edit
The service, atmosphere and most of all food is quality. Jude's is a fully employee owned and locally operated small business. 100% worth the try. Make sure you take advantage of their date night option for 2!
