Great little spot

My first time at Jude's last week, Ive haven't eaten much Cajun food before but the menu was interesting with lots of vegan options.

I had the tofu sandwich and the chickpeas which were both delicious.

I recommend booking a table as the venue is small, so we ended up sitting at the bar. The staff were really attentive.

Pros: Lots of options to choose from, Interesting cocktails

Hey Jude

Hella surprised to see someone on here say the red beans are bland bc I’ve had them a few times (sans rice) + they were phenomenal. I’m also a huge fan of the sautéed greens, tho they were kinda off the last time I got them, so obviously there’s consistency issues, but the hand-cut fries are always 10/10. I don’t love the Cajun tofu sandwich, but I do keep an eye on their rotating specials waiting for the lentil gumbo to make a comeback.

Jude’s is 100% worker owned + operated + that rules.

January ‘25 update: Hit it again + damn, the beans were a tad underseasoned + the greens were the same as last time, like maybe they changed the recipe. I also tried the new pineapple tofu app + it’s good but overpriced. Whatever, I’m still a fan + I want them to add more vegan dishes to the menu.

Didn’t have a good experience

I had been wanting to come to Judes for some time as I saw they had vegan option. We arrived and placed our orders. I ordered the tofu sandwich and red beans and rice. The red beans and rice tasted very under seasoned. So much so that I didn’t even finish it. The tofu sandwich just didn’t taste good to me. In my opinion, all the ingredients of the sandwich just didn’t go well together. Attention to detail also lacked when my gf, who is not vegan, ordered an appetizer and specified chicken (this was heard and repeated by the waitress) and brought out the vegan version instead. It seems as though that they have diminished vegan items from the menu as a lot of items spoken about in previous reviews are no longer there.

the b e s t vegan sandwich!

Saw so many great reviews for this place on Happy Cow and was excited to finally try it out! I tried the Vegan Spinach Artichoke Dip which was delicious, and I also got the Cajun Tofu Sandwich which was an immediate favorite-the tofu was cooked to perfection. For a drink I got a N/A Cocktail (Afternoon in the Orchard) that was really cute and fun to sip throughout dinner. I’ll definitely be back again!!

Pros: The vegan options!, Cute ambiance, A new favorite sandwich 🥪

Great Food & Atmosphere

Visited Jude's Old Town for the first time this weekend based on the other reviews and I was not disappointed! Great food, great atmosphere, a nice place to chill and hang out for a while. I had the vegan mushroom etouffee. The bartender mentioned one of the cooks is vegan, which explains why the vegan options they offer are yummy.

Pros: Great food, atmosphere

Cons: No designated parking lot

Quaint hidden gem

The service, atmosphere and most of all food is quality. Jude's is a fully employee owned and locally operated small business. 100% worth the try. Make sure you take advantage of their date night option for 2!

Pros: Lots of vegan/vegetarian options, Flexible menu, Rotating/seasonal menu

Cons: Pricier side, Dine in fills up quick
