No Oil = No Problem! - Edit
I recently began "eating to live." In essence I'm following the advice of Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn Jr., M.D. (Prevent & Reverse Heart Disease: The Revolutionary, Scientifically Proven, Nutrition-Based Cure), Dr John A. McDougall, M.D. (The Starch Solution), Dr. T. Colin Campbell, PH.D. (The China Study), and many others who promote a whole-food plant-based lifestyle. These doctors provide scientific evidence as to why this is critically important.
Read moreHowever, it is always such a struggle when eating out, especially when I try to explain how I desire food with NO ADDED OIL. I get such strange looks when I ask a waiter/waitress what foods can I order that have no added oil.
However, at my very first visit to Portia's Cafe, when I asked my "no oil" question, the waitress completely understood, and provided me a list of their menu items that have no added oil! And before I knew it, Portia herself came to our table and made a suggestion on a wrap they could prepare that would meet my dietary requirements!
Portia and her staff are clearly on the cutting edge of the paradigm shift that will dramatically improve the health of our world!

Hippies galore! - Edit
This diner is so homey and the portions are huge, the menu has almost too many options and it’s hard to decide what to eat! The red lentil soup and overnight oats were tasty, for main fare I loved the Great Tofu Wrap. The blonde macroon desserts were delightful!

All vegan, GF, GMO-free, and organic spot in Columbus - Edit
Traveling for work is tough. Long days turn into late nights, and eating healthy often falls by the wayside. That’s why I was excited to discover Portia’s Cafe, a spot dedicated to fresh, nutritious ingredients. Their menu is vegan, gluten-free, GMO-free, and organic, using local produce whenever possible. After a marathon day at the office, I ordered delivery straight to my hotel room.
Read moreWhile Portia’s leans toward lunch with its quesadillas, salads, and wraps, good food is good food any time of day. I went with the Notuna Salad and Red Lentil Soup—a classic combo that absolutely hit the spot. The notuna (made from mashed, seasoned chickpeas, I believe) was flavorful, especially with the creamy cashew dressing over fresh greens and shredded carrots. The red lentil soup added a comforting heft to the light salad. I couldn’t resist finishing with an apple almond cookie for a sweet ending.
Portia’s got me through my work night. I’ll definitely be back on future trips to Columbus.

Vegan food truck - Edit
They have a fully vegan food truck and it has great pizza. Today I finally ate at the restaurant and the food is just as great as the food truck was. I got a 1/2 gyro wrap which was amazing and spinach artichoke dip which my mom would have loved. The desserts feel very decadent even though they are very healthy.

100% Vegan, Healthy but Tasty - Edit
This place strikes a good balance between tasty and healthy. We enjoyed the food and appreciated that it's not fast-food vegan restaurant. It felt like a throw-back to the late 90's/early 2000's, but with veganaise and daiya. It's also 100% gluten-free, so if you're looking for a tortilla or bread, you'll only find a gluten-free alternative. They have the best chai tea I've had a in a long time— it's actually spicy and not overly sweet!!

Fantastic food - Edit
Didn’t visit in person but wound up ordering to our hotel when hung over. Honestly great options and I was kind of surprised - usually places like this lack flavor but I wound up ordering it again a day later because it hit the spot so well. Delivers very well too, for what it’s worth.

Portia's Cafe has breakfast all day. Always vegan. Always good. We had the breakfast burrito bowl. Loaded potatoes. Breakfast pocket wrap. Strawberry chocolate chip waffle and a soy latte and a cortado. And check out their bar of hot sauces. Great food. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Check them out !

Healthy and tasty - Edit
Very friendly staff. Food is healthy without sacrificing tastiness. I love that they use Ethiopian bread for the wraps. Gives it a unique spin on wraps. Great for eating in or taking out.

Very fresh, thoughtful food - Edit
I got the Pad Thai over rice with grilled tofu and liked it much more than I expected to. The veggies were perfectly fresh, the sauce was really yummy and portions were good. Only note is that the tofu was kind of bland, but cooked properly. My boyfriend had the "flat-chos" and really enjoyed them as well.

Good food, good atmosphere, new favorite place in Columbus - Edit
It is always a promising sign when a restaurant has a vegetable garden, and they lived up to the promise! Everything on the menu looks so good, I wish I could eat more at one sitting! I had the salad with curry dressing, a half wrap, and a slice of cheesecake. They were doing a brisk business of takeout and had plenty of people dining in as well.

Delicious Vegan and GF - Edit
Entire menu is vegan and gluten free, but has all of the flavor. I loved seeing all the regulars that the staff knew by name coming in. Maybe one of the best waffles I’ve ever had. Rosemary potatoes were delicious, I added the cheese and bacon. Tumeric latte was so good too.

Healthy, Gluten-free and great variety - Edit
Portia's is a staple in Columbus. She owns multiple vegan businesses, including Portia's Cozy, Portia's cafe, a food truck, and a vegan store. Yes, she is known for her stance on vaccines and covid, but despite your beliefs and even if you disagree, she is a very nice person. She is always willing to help everyone and just wants people to eat vegan food. The majority of the produce used in her cafe is locally grown, and everything is organic. She has great wraps, salads, pizzas, and desserts. She also has a great breakfast served all day. The gluten-free waffles are a must try! Portia's is definitely pricey, but everything is organic and great quality.

I love me a good vegan restaurant! I always have such a hard time choosing what to eat. I had the super Cindy breakfast wrap and got some other things to go! We tried the breakfast wrap, savory wrap and spinach and artichoke dip (which was my fav!). Everything was so good. Can’t wait to go back and try more!
