Great vegan Tex-Mex food! I had the Brisket Birria (Jackfruit) tacos when rice and black beans and the hubby had the Picadillo Beef (Beyond Meat) Quesadillas and both were great choices. We also had the chips and queso. Queso was a bit runny but still yummy! Go check it out for yourself.

Took my brother here for lunch and was seriously impressed. I really wish this place had existed when I was an art student across the street! Really great food for inexpensive prices. Finding good vegan mexican food is hard but look no further than Pepitas! Their elote was so good and their horchata was delicious.

I had the tacos al pastor and hubby had the brisket jackfruit. Both delish (although I thought mine had a leg up with the pineapple). Guacamole and chips good too. Very quick service. Parking in the back. Cute place. Does not serve alcohol yet. I can’t wait to try the guisado.

We often miss living in Denton solely because of the truly awesome small, locally-owned shops and restaurants. Pepitas is one of those businesses and they are absolutely phenomenal. We got the Piccadillo taco plate and Beyond Meat nachos. It was some of the best Mexican food we've ever tried. We love the curbside service, fair pricing, and excellent customer service! Keep up the amazing job, Pepitas!

Wonderful menu options - Edit
I’m always a little bit hesitant to go to Mexican food because I worry that I won’t be able to find food that’s not spicy and doesn’t have cilantro. Luckily the menu here has options for people who love spicy food and people like me who are spicy sensitive.
Read moreUpon entering the restaurant we were confused because the building is shared with another restaurant. But once someone appeared at the front they were able to help us out. We ordered our food for takeout since that’s the only option versus service for the outdoor seating area. The hostess was a wonderful and friendly lady.
The food was very tasty! My only concern was how much plastic is used for the takeout. Had I known, I would have asked them if they would make an exception and deliver our food on plates to reduce the plastic waste.
I was glad to find such a great vegan Mexican food store that I like!

YUMMY!!! This place is absolutely outstanding. I’ve had the black bean tacos, the avocado tacos, and the portobello fajitas. All were really flavorful and delicious. The rice and beans are fantastic as well!

All Vegan Mexican food - Edit
I’ve been twice now and I loved it both times. I’ll get a pic next time I I got the chimichanga both times (just can’t help myself) and it was fantastic both times. The only thing I didn’t think was 5 stars was the queso which was just a bit bland but hey I’m not complaining. I can’t wait to try everything they have.

Excellent Vegan Mex - Edit
I tried the tamales and a horchata. Wish I had taken a photo, but there wasn't much chance as the food was too good! The tamales had perfect consistency with the masa and a tender red chile soy filling--a nice spice level. I added diablo sauce to mine which was delicious (but very hot!). And the horchata? Delicious. Especially on a hot day like today. I'll definitely be back :)
