10/10 Excellent Mexican cuisine! - Edit
The food was phenomenal! They have a fully vegan menu offering so many great options. It was hard to choose. We ordered a burrito and soft tacos and it came with so many extras,— guacamole, chips and salsa, nacho cheese, beans, and rice. The nacho cheese sauce was delicious. Portions were excellent and everything was so filling. The staff was kind enough to gift us a free, vegan dessert (also incredibly tasty). This place is a great option for those seeking extremely tasty vegan Mexican food.

NOT VEGAN!!!! - Edit
This place sees animals as objects. They are not vegan. They only have “vegan” menu while serving flesh of beings and their secretions.

Tuesday Taco Deals - Edit
There are $1.50 tacos on Tuesday and that makes it a good deal. The food is good, but was better before when it was a stand-alone vegan restaurant. Now it’s a shared omni kitchen with another restaurant called Milpa and “Fiesta Eats Hub” so there is not really a place to sit and eat and zero ambience.

I’m from New Mexico… - Edit
I’m from New Mexico where, in my opinion the best Mexican food comes from. This beats any chain Tex Mex restaurant hands down! I had the “brisket” (jackfruit) tacos and it was enough food for both me and my husband. The salsa and salsa verde- oh my gosh- delicious!!!

Good portions - Edit
Some of the food was good and some needed a bit of help. The veggie quesadillas were good but the fried chicken tacos didn’t have a lot of flavor except for spicy. The fries were undercooked and the chips were stale. They didn’t have margaritas and didn’t know what was gluten free on the menu. The deserts looked good though.

Vegan Taqueria! - Edit
We came by on a Sunday morning while in town visiting friends. We got recommended the place by two different friends to go here since I'm vegan! The food was really good and tasty, very hot and made fresh! I really enjoyed the "chicken" pieces added as the protein on my dishes. I believe they are deep fried and battered tofu? I don't know, hard to say but definitely tasty! Everything here is vegan which is so nice. I don't have to worry about what I order, just pick anything and chow down! My nonvegan omnivore friends really enjoyed it too!

The TexMex Burrito was really good! If it wasn’t a vegan restaurant, I’d worry I got real meat! Very convincing “beef.”

Just okay - Edit
I visited Pepitas with someone else. We split the chicken tacos and the veggie flautas. I ordered the veggie tacos and they gave me flautas instead. Not a big deal, but unfortunate. They gave me a free order of veggie tacos at the end, which was kind. Flavor was fine, not great. The guac was pretty watery, acidic, and seemed like mostly onion, though I usually have high expectations for guacamole.

Tasty beanz - Edit
Enjoyed the al pastor tacos best. We got an assorted platter. The quesadillas and little bean burritos were meh. But the side of beanz and rice were delish! The beanz were spiced so well. The elote was just ok, but I kept comparing it to the one I had at spiral which was amazing. Ordered carry out which was easy enough.
Read moreWent back a year later and it’s WAY better. The flautas were amazing and so were the in house margaritas. Al pastor tacos and seasoned beans were still fantastic.

Very Good, but Hit or Miss - Edit
My husband and I are total fans for Pepitas. The Flautas and Loaded Nachos are are favorites! We love a good Tex-Alex eatery and so happy to come across one that’s fully vegan. We just have noticed lately that depending on who’s working, the food might be a little off as far as taste.

Food had no taste - Edit
If I could give a one star I definitely would. The pollo loco sandwich was so nasty j didn’t even finish eating 🤮 and The chickn strips were not good either they were so tough to eat and no flavor. Not only that but they did not give us what we paid for. We paid extra for a bread and we paid full price and didn’t give us the 5 strips as stated on the menu. I can’t go back cause I live 45 minutes from them but save yourself a trip because that food was a hell no. I am Hispanic and this food was not it.

Super amazing vegan Mexican/tex-mex food. Good variety & not too expensive, and great service. Although everything I've tried has been great, I recommend everybody to try the al pastor taco plate, flautas, and tres leches cake!

Lovely spot near campus - Edit
Extensive menu that includes tacos, quesadillas, a hamburger, flautas, chimichangas, bowls, sopapillas, churros, tres leches cake, margaritas, and mimosas. Came for lunch on a Friday, and it was fairly busy without a wait. Sat outside and enjoyed our meal in the sunshine. Service is top notch: even though my brother's order was heard correctly but rung up wrong, the staff graciously corrected the order without having us worry about paying the price difference between combos 1 and 2. Tacos are street taco sized (i.e., small), so if you're hungry, you might want you get at least three. And the tres leches cake is huge! If you haven't learned to share already, it's never too late.
Read moreThe shredded cheese in the quesadilla wasn't melted at all, but that might have been because they rushed making it to correct the order. I'd be willing to try it again to see if the cheese is more melted when they have time to prepare it.

Fab Food Nicest Staff - Edit
I had street tacos for lunch and ordered a quesadilla to go for dinner, and everything from the fresh chips and salsa, to the service, the quality of the food, and the hot crispy churros was ridiculously good. I couldn’t believe there was barely anyone in there at lunchtime on a weekday. They should have had a line out the door. I’ll hope to stop by anytime I pass through!
