Super burrito

We were there after our trip trough Zion NP.
It's marked which food could be made vegan.
The staff was also very friendly and knew about what's going to work as vegan.
I ordered a burrito and it was so awesome!
Definitely try this place out if you're nearby.

A few clearly marked options

Oscar’s was quick to seat us (5 mins). Basically you can get a veggie burrito or a mushroom sandwich as the vegan options. All is clearly marked. As someone else mentioned the salad dressing has honey, which my waitress told me when I ordered. Huge portions

Miserable for vegan breakfast

Avoid for breakfast if you can. A couple things can be made vegan minus multiple ingredients, and the result ain’t great. No labeling at all on the breakfast menu.

Your burrito will be down three ingredients but ask for soy with your coffee and you’ll be charged for a “side.”

The guac on my burrito was forgotten and not really acknowledged when I asked for it.

Vegan options in Springdale!

The tiny town of Springdale, while quaint, doesn't really offer too many dining options. We went to Oscar's on the recommendation of our tour guide, who is a regular. Fun vibe, great service, and packed. We had a 15 min wait. The best part is they have 5-6 vegan options and generous portions. Almost everyone walks out with leftovers. The beer is also huge! I ordered the sweet potato burrito plate and it was pretty good, especially the rice. Came with a fresh house side salad, but the dressing was too tart and could use some balance. Main food came nice and hot to the table and within a reasonable time. Would dine there again. 👍🏽

Pros: Vegan options , Quick Friendly service , Generous portion

Cons: Salad dressing

How desperate are you?

If you’re vegan, you have to be pretty desperate. This place lists “vegan options” which essentially amounts to to removing 90% of the dish. I enjoyed the pickle that came with the Impossible Burger on a semi-fresh bun. Blech. This place sucks.

Pros: The pickle

Cons: Everything else

Delicious dinner!!

We got carry out from Oscar’s and it was so good! I had the sweet potato burrito, made vegan. It came with rice and beans, also vegan, and a side salad. The woman who took our order was extremely helpful and doubled checked everything to make sure it was vegan. We also had chips, salsa and guac and they were great too. Overall, super delicious and a ton of food!

Pros: Delicious vegan burrito, Huge servings, Very friendly and helpful staff

Great post-hike

Ended up coming here 3 times during our stay in Zion because it seemed like one of the best vegan dinner options in the area. We were looking to load up on kcals post-hike and got just that. (They also have vegan salads if that is more of your vibe.) Location is convenient and the staff is very friendly.

Taking off a star because we found that not all staff were 100% knowledgeable about the menu. They're aware of the basics (no queso, no sour cream) but not everyone was aware of "hidden" ingredients. We came to learn about each note below during different visits, from different waiters.

Important Notes:
• Their signature salad dressing ("Oscar's Dill Vinaigrette") has honey in it. If you order a burrito, the side salad that comes with it will have this dressing. Most of theie entree salads use this dressing as well. We were told we could sub oil vinegar or guac salsa.
• The buns for the burgers/sandwiches supposedly have milk and egg. You can sub in a sourdough.

I'd recommend this restaurant to a hungry hiker who is aware of the above restrictions. I tried the nachos another reviewer recommended (was huge), the sweet potato burrito, the impossible burger, the black bean guac salad, and the portobello avocado sandwich.

Pros: Large vegan portions!, Can sub sweet potato fries free of charge!, Spicy jalapenos

Cons: Not all staff is knowledgeable, Proteins are limited to impossible burger + beans

Friendly carnies

Bro, order the nachos without cheese and add rice and portobello mushroom. They need to add vegan items like it to the menu, and tell you what's vegan and not. But it's always friendly and good service here.

Pros: Service, Atmosphere, Attentiveness & Accommodative

Cons: Meat surroundings, A bit pricey, No vegan menu items

Pretty mediocre

For the area, it seemed like our best option but pretty lackluster burgers. Maybe we should have ordered the burritos.

Always a popular choice

Oscar’s was my favorite place in town as a non-vegan and it’s also great as a vegan now. Wish they had more vegan options though.

best food in Springdale

Had 4 nights in Zion and this was our last dinner in Springdale, sad that it took us so long to get here bc we probably would have eaten here every night. They turn those tables so fast, don’t be nervous by the amount of people waiting. They run an efficient, well oiled machine here, service is fast, friendly, and the food is amazing. Portions are HUGE. enjoy😄

Surprisingly good!

Cute spot, a few options that can be made vegan (burritos, salad, burgers). Server was very knowledgeable. The sweet potato burrito (came with a side of rice, beans, and salad; topped with guac) had so much flavor; I was not expecting it to taste that good. Pricey ($20) but very, very yummy. My omni husband loved his order too. Will definitely be coming back on our next trip to Zion.

Delicious and generous

The portions are enormous. The waitress was friendly and food was tasty. Plenty of vegetarian dishes but vegan dishes were by subtraction. They could do better by offering vegan cheese and sour cream.

Pros: Taste, Size, Waitress

Cons: No vegan cheese , No vegan sour cream , Didn’t substitute veg meat

Great Spot for Zion Vegans!

Oscar’s Cafe was excellent. They had multiple options and they were very clearly marked on the menu. Very big servings and only about a mile from the Zion entrance. Would absolutely visit again!

Excellent service that understands vegan!

We ordered several dishes off the menu that were clearly marked vegan. They were large portions which we were not expecting thus had way too much. 🤪 Everything was hot, fresh, came out super quick, and our server was phenomenal!

Pros: Vegan options clearly marked , Quick service , Outdoor patio with a view

Delicious salads

I liked that the vegan options were clearly marked on the menu, although I was confused when I noticed a chicken dish was marked vegan. Perhaps it meant it could be made vegan without chicken?

I had the portabella mushroom salad. My husband had the non-veg salmon salad. It was SO GOOD! The dressing was delicious. There were all kinds of beans and corn and olives and surprises in the salad. It was large but I couldn’t stop eating. It came with what I assume was non-vegan garlic bread that I gave to my husband.

I rigidly recommend for the salad alone!

Pros: Clearly marked veg options, Can order to go, Cute place

Uninspired mediocre at best

Offer more vegan dishes instead of veganized dishes, where animal products are simply subtracted. Add a variety of fresh greens and herbs to the salad.

Not Really Vegan Friendly!

Warning signs should have gone up when the waiter bragged to the next table about how the chef makes his own pulled pork twice a week.
I classify the food eatable after spending all day hiking. I suggest that you skip this place and go to the salad bar at the grocery store across the street.

Pros: None

Cons: Expensive for the quality of food

Fantastic vegan options

The staff is very knowledgeable, and several dishes can be made vegan. I recommend their burritos (ask for extra veggies).

The lunch / dinner menu has vegan options marked, the breakfast menu hasn't although a couple can be made vegan and were delicious (incl. the Huevos Rancheros).

Pros: Good selection of vegan options, One of the best 🌯 I've had, Friendly staff

Cons: Vegan options not explicitly marked on brkfst menu

Careful separation of veg dishes

They have separate cooking areas for veg dishes. We really enjoyed the food.
