very nice atmosphere and authentic Korean cuisine - Edit
This quaint spot is hidden in the side alleys. Once inside you will find low tables with cushions on the floor. The portions were generous and the food very good. Loved the kimchi that came as a side dish to the soup. The restaurant also sells some frozen faux meats and cheese. Complimentary tea and water and free wifi.

Tasty, cozy and warm stuff! - Edit
I tried the 손 짜장면 (noodles) and it was very nice. It's a good opportunity to tried asian cuisine and some typical korean dishes. The place is very comfortable and pretty. The stuff was very kind. They offer korean and English menu. Their break time was at 4pm which was very convienent since most korean restaurants have it at 3 pm.

Check it Out for the Crispy Shrimp - Edit
Lots of options. The women running the restaurant don’t speak any English.
Read moreClean bathroom.
Get TO GO containers for 500 won.
I didn’t feel like returning here again when I was nearby. Chose to go back to Insa Veg instead.
Maybe I’d do a side of crispy Shrimp for takeout in the future. The other places I visited in Seoul were more worth return trips for their vibes.
Insadong area. So if you’re nearby it’s good.

Korean food - Edit
Authentic Korean food, and we arrived pretty late, they were still happy to serve us. In fact, we got there just before closing and they didn’t mind at all. We ended up ordering way too much, but everything was really tasty. I’d definitely recommend this place.

Bland food and rude owners/staffs - Edit
System forced me to put 2 stars
Read moreI had the spicy tofu stew and it was extremely bland and not spicy at all (and I am not a big spicy food fan). Pretty much eating slightly salted tofu so would not recommand.
Edit: Went back on my last day as it was close to my hotel and the experience was worse. After an awkward welcome, I had the bibimpap and it was sooo salty. Worse I had in Korea. And then when I went to pay, my card did not work (first time in my month long stay) and they refused (rudely) to try it a second time. So I had to pay using the last bills I had, which I had saved to recharge my subway card to travel to the airport.
Bad food, rude owners/staff so I definitely do not recommend.

Great food, tons of options. Omni friends said they couldn't tell the difference between traditional fried shrimp and the vegan version they offer here!

Lot of options for typical Korean food - Edit
I like this place as they offer so many veganized Korean dishes. I went there 3 times and had jjajangmyeong, fried mandus, tteokbokkis sweet and sour soy protein and the spicy noodle soup. Everything tasted good and the service is fast.

Pretty good vegan take on traditional Korean food but weird vibe - Edit
This was a nice vegan place conveniently located in Insa. Unfortunately the vibes inside were a little off when I was there, can’t put my finger on exactly why but what didn’t help was the fact they have two massive TV screens playing Ching Hai propaganda!
Read moreThis is fine to eat at as a solo traveller.
The food selection was good and very quick. I recommend the tteokbokki! Honestly worth coming here if you’re vegan based solely on the food offerings, I didn’t see anywhere else in Seoul offering vegan jjamppong.
The staff speak no english but food is ordered via tablet so not much communication is needed.
It was quite spicy for me (although I’m not good with spices anyway) so keep that in mind!

Pros: Portion size, Food choice

Strange vibe and tasteless food - Edit
There was very strange vibes in the restaurant - a sect cult show was shown on mutliple large tv-s and everyone was silent in the restaurant. The food was tasteless, the chicken bites felt like just fried batter coated in sweet sauce. Do not recommend this place

Really cool location serving all kinds of traditional Korean food. Very delicious. Staff didn't speak any English but it wasn't an issue as you order via tablets (and there you can pick your language).

Everything we tried at Oh Se Gae Hyang was absolutely delicious! The portions are large and perfect for sharing, so you can try a bit of everything. This is definitely a must-stop spot for anyone visiting Seoul — great food, generous servings, and a wonderful dining experience overall.

Not as I remember it - still ok tho - Edit
The first time I was here was in 2015, and I was a regular between 2015-2017. Since returning in 2025 the food is still the same: home made, good and affordable. Somehow I remember Oh Se Gae Hyang as a bit cozier before, but now it seems that they removed their floor seating, opted for screen menus and dimmer lightning. The ipads on each table kill the vibe - I miss the menus and the interaction with the servers.
Read moreFood is not bad - their gyozas are good and their side dishes to the main dish are plentiful. There is also free tea on the house. The spice soft tofu stew is good, they make their own tofu inhouse, but I wish it had more veggies.
There is free wifi, and a TV running in the backgroun with Supreme Master Chi TV - I dont mind it, I find it charming. The TV programs are about environmental issues and veganism.

Osegyaehyang - Edit
Ordered the sundubu jjigae. Iirc the soft tofu is homemade(?). I REALLY enjoyed the texture of the soft tofu. The broth also had a nice depth of flavour. Seems to be associated with Supreme Master Ching Hai/Loving Hut (who has had many controversies) but if you're not too concerned about that, a very solid option.
Read moreMy verdict: 4.5/5. Would absolutely return again to try other options on the menu, if not to have the sundubu jjigae again!
Pros: A variety of options on the menu, Delicious sundubu jjigae!!!

If you want to try a vegan twist on the classic Korean dishes this is definitely a place you should check out. It’s convenient that you can order over a tablet now and that they changed their seating.
