Useless for vegans

There was nothing vegan on the menu. Some adaptation was made to one item for me, but by removing the cheese they removed the flavor. Real vegan food places know how to replace the salty/sour flavors provided by cheese.

Cons: Not good for vegans

Menu changed

I was super excited to try this place based on the reviews. Online they list that they have a limited menu for COVID and on the same page are the menus. Decided to check out the upstairs Point 5 lounge based on the options I found on their website. Unfortunately, their limited menu was totally different than online with shishito peppers (yes, just peppers) being the only thing that was vegan. Since I was with an Omni, I was trying to be a good sport (usually I would have brushed it off and gone somewhere else) and asked if there was anything that could be altered to accommodate. She proceeded to suggest taking meat off all the cheese pastas. I nicely explained that I couldn’t have dairy and she was just like “oh” with no other options given. And then acted surprised when I “just” ordered peppers.

I totally understand COVID is making it more difficult for everyone, but for a restaurant that was previously so vegan friendly not to be accommodating or at least take their old menus offline (when already updating the website), it was very frustrating. I do the research in advance so that I’m not a “pain in the ass” when I go somewhere...hated that I still clearly was at this restaurant.

Pros: Upstairs porch seating

Cons: No vegan options, Not accommodating , Staff not knowledgeable

Sichuan Eggplant and tofu is so good!

I also recommend the caramelized Brussels in lemon oil, the roasted cauliflower with capers and the shishito peppers (just ask for no cheese or butter on all the things 😉)

Pros: Great cocktails too! , Waitstaff was really friendly!

Great lunch

This is a nice little restaurant with a better class of service than most in the area so the prices are a bit higher, but it’s a nice change from the din of Duval. I had the Walnut Pistachio Tacos and the Szechuan Tofu with Eggplant. Next time I’ll try the shishito peppers and Brussel sprouts (without cheese). There aren’t many more items for vegans, although there are more for vegetarians, but it’s a nice option when you’re dining with meat eaters.

Pros: Lots of vegetarian options

Cons: Limited vegan

Vegan Tapas!

There are many vegan options here. The walnut pistachio tacos come in a lettuce leaf making them good for gluten free and vegan/veggies alike. They were the best tacos I have had. Excellent. Other tapas can easily be made vegan by removing cheese just ask they will easily accommodate. Highly recommended.

Pros: Vegan tapas
