Vegan Hungarian - Edit
The best place to try vegan Hungarian food. We ordered stuffed cabbage, seitan stew, and goulash soup. Very tasty. The soup wasn’t as well spiced as we would expect it to be, but still good. Also, we loved the drinks - strawberry lemonade and iced tea. Not a place I would go to more than once, simply not my taste, but great to try Hungarian cuisine.

Hands Down....The Best! - Edit
I was in Budapest for a few days and ate here on 3 separate occasions. After the 1st visit I was hooked!
Read moreOn the 1st visit I had the Gyros Platter with a Strawberry Lemonade and for desert I had a cake. The spicy roasted seitan strips were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The pita bread was baked to perfection and the tzatziki sauce was lovely! Really nice dish. The Strawberry Lemonade had mint leaves, chunks of strawberries and lemon wedges. After a hot day it was just what I was looking for and the flavour was right on! The cake I had (can't remember what it was called) was the perfect end to a great meal!
On both of my other visits I had the Stuffed Cabbage a la Kolozsvar which was amazing, in fact it was my favourite meal in Budapest. This dish was loaded and came with a cabbage roll (filled with seitan, brown rice, faux sausage, oatmeal and garlic), a marinated - grilled seitan cutlet, a grilled soy wiener, soy sour cream all on top a bed of sauerkraut. I could eat this dish everyday for the rest of my life! Highly recommend!
I had a few other deserts as well which were all lovely! They have a wide range of vegan treats & ice cream. This is a great place if you are looking for a fantastic meal or if you were just wanting some desert and a coffee.
Pros: All Vegan, Tasty Deserts , Amazing Dishes & Good Prices

Restaurant proposant une version vegan de plats typiques Hongrois (Par exemple : Goulash aux haricots) , ce qui n'est pas évident à trouver autre part en ville. Proposent également smoothies, pâtisseries..

Wanted to have traditional hungarian food, which seems to be difficult being vegan. But then I found this place. It was so good!

Traditional food, veganized - Edit
My meal here was great: Finally not only the western vegan classics - wraps, burgers, etc. - but the chefs actually tried and succeeded in translating the heavy-in-meat Hungarian cuisine into special vegan versions. I had soup with dumplings, breaded "cheese" and a traditional dessert with "yogurt" sauce.

Best restaurant in Budapest - Edit
The Goulash was sooo good we went 3 times only to eat it again, also feel in love with the stuffed cabbage it was really good, both are traditional Hungarian foods and they have more. That's the best part that they give vegans the opportunity to try the typical food of the country obviously in the vegan version. Just amazing also tried a tofu salad which I liked too. 100%recommended. Oh and great natural juices👌🏻

A varied menu. Great cakes! - Edit
I have eaten here a few times now.. From carb heavy traditional meals (crumbed soy cutlets, creamy salads) to raw options; there's something here for everyone. There are so many delicious cakes to choose from, so make sure you leave room for it!

My favourite restaurant in Budapest - Edit
We went for dinner here twice and the food was amazing both times. The first time we had the 3 course International Women’s Day menu which included homemade pea soup, risotto and forest fruits cheesecake. The second time we went we shared a 2 person platter which included rice and peas, falafels, mash etc, it was delicious! The interior of the restaurant is lovely and the staff are very friendly. They have homemade cakes at the till which you can buy to takeaway. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Gorgeous place! - Edit
The reviews speak for themselves. You can't come to Budapest as a vegan and not come here. We had goulash soup which is one of the best soups I have ever tasted. My partner had fusilli which was gorgeous and I had ginger miso risotto with tofu which was exquisite. Partner then ambitiously had sponge cake which for 2 quid was enormous. Very courteous staff. Whole meal with tip for 30 pounds. Absolutely wonderful. Please come to England.

Budapest half term trip - Edit
We visited this restaurant on our first night in Budapest (18/02/20) Although the interior was a little too formal for my liking, the food was excellent! My wife & I had the sharing platter, which had so much food & so many different items on it! The non alcoholic cocktails were also pretty good too. It was just a shame that we had no room left for a pudding after as the Vegan cakes in the glass display cabinet looked totally amazing!

Cosy restaurant, reservation recommended, with a great cake display. The food and people are awesome. Original Bulgarian cuisine in vegan, and not just the usual burger and fries stuff. Ate my way almost through the whole menu and cakes and I am truly happy!

Great vegan hungarian food - Edit
Napfènyes restaurant is more then a restaurant, the owner and his staff are making sure to serve the best quality of food and to be as kind as possible with the guests. They have a wide range of food selection. Including sugar free, gluten free options and you can have raw food too. A great place to bring your non vegan friends to show them how delicious the vegan food can be. A huge variety of different options including high protein foods like tofu, tempeh , seitan . The bean goulash is a must try with the traditional style Turó gombocok .:)
