Read moreEl primer día compartimos un plato en el salón y fue imposible terminarlo de tan grande que era. Las opciones que plantea como sugerencias tienen sabores muy interesantes, con "quesos" caseros y acompañamientos agridulces que no resultan para nada invasivos.
Las otras dos veces pedimos pizza para llevar (tres quesos y húngara) y resultaron muy sabrosas y llenadoras. Además, tanto lxs meserxs como el personal que atiende en mostrador es muy amable.

Thanks to the low prices of this beautiful city, I was able to have awesome local cuisine at unbelievable price at this lovely fine-dining. They offer an extensive course and I recommend you to try every possible menu you can have. I would definitely visit here if I come to Budapest again. A luxurious place with great vibes and friendly staff.

The oldest vegan restaurant in Budapest - Edit
Napfényes is the forst (or one of the first few) vegan restaurant in Budapest. They are still in business, which says a lot. The quality of the foods is OK. You should not expect here fine-dining, but it is always nice to have a lunch or dinner here. You might try some traditional Hungarian foods' vegan version in case you are interested in it. The quality is constant, so you should not expect any bad surprises.

Spoilt for choice! So many options to choose from, traditional, Italian, Asian cuisine - I really struggled to decide on what to order. The food was delicious, not too expensive and big portions. The inside was quite fancy a lot nicer than I expected. They also have a huge variety of cakes all of which looked amazing - though I think they were more style over substance and didn't live up to how good they looked. Regardless the main dishes were delicious and I'd go back again (if I wasn't so keen to try all the other vegan places in Budapest!). I had an Asian noodle dish which was kind of like a pad thai - definitely would recommend. But I was also watching everyone else's food come out and it all looked so good I wish I could of tried everything on the menu!

I’m slightly baffled by some of the other reviews saying this place was ‘canteen like’ or ‘expensive’ for Budapest. It was neither 😂 We really loved it! We ordered a soup, lavish health platter for two, asian style noodles, hummus, pita bread, and three drinks. All of this came to the equivalent of £40 for two people. It was really lovely, full of taste, and the service was great!

This place is a little gem, doesn’t look like much from the outside but inside it’s huge! You can call in and grab a vegan cake to go or sit down for a lovely meal. They have lots of vegan gluten free options too, and I love the little salad bar where you can hop up and top up on greens of your choosing! Very reasonable prices, friendly staff and fantastic cakes, just perfect!!

Stopped in here on a rainy day. Was pleased to be able to just get some cake and tea while I waited out the weather. Both were really delicious! They also have a small selection of vegan snacks I had never seen before. I got some waffle biscuits and carob bars. All was reasonable priced and the staff were really friendly!

Had dinner which was the local Hungarian cuisine of stuffed cabbage and sauerkraut, it was a generous serve and tasty but a bit on the salty side for me.

We appreciated the large menu with a really good selection of vegan Hungarian food. The soups were delicious, but we weren’t overly impressed with the lavish platter that we shared as a main. It’s certainly a lot of food, and the potatoes were excellent. The rest, however, was a disappointment. Way too much vegan cheese that overpowered the rest of the meal, and very deep fried and greasy-feeling. We would possibly go back to try the other platters or pasta, but wouldn’t recommend the lavish platter.

The place it’s self is very different than the classic vegan bar. It looks more like a hotel restaurant. We were quite sceptical about it but after we tasted the food we changed our mind. It was very, very good! Portions were very big (even for us, and we eat a LOT!) and all of the cakes looked phenomenal (we didn’t try it only because we planned ice cream for desset).

Great food, got lost trying to find restaurant but worth persevering as the food was delicious and was served quickly. I had grilled platter with strawberry smoothies and other diner had falafel platter and virgin mojito. Desserts= custard cream slice and chocolate slice.
