Napfényes Restaurant - Edit
Great vegan goulash soup. I was hoping for more Hungarian options though, since the restaurant apparently is supposed to serve vegan options for traditional dishes …

Nice Restaurant - Edit
I really liked the food. It was tasty and they had a large menu. Prices are fair. The waiter was a little bit inattentive. My friend ordered a salad and it was okay but could have been more creative.

Misleading reviews - Edit
I don’t normally leave reviews but wanted to warn other vegans visiting Budapest. This place is highly rated here and on google but the food is really awful. We ate the plate for two which after looking through other reviews was the wrong dish to order. It was a mound of deep fried, processed freezer food and rice. It tasted very bland and very oily.

Napfenyes Restaurant - Edit
Napfenyes Restaurant is my favorite place to dine in Budapest. Prior to the pandemic I had to travel to Budapest frequently for work and you'd always find me here multiple times during my business trips! My favorite is the vegan Hungarian goulash!

So many options! - Edit
This place was amazing for having such a varied menu to cater for everyone. They have pizzas, classic Hungarian dishes & burgers. We had the 4 cheese pizza & gyro platter - both were delicious. It’s also super reasonably priced and a great interior / atmosphere for a nice meal/date night.

A nice meal - Edit
Went here by myself and got the goulash and seitan stew. The food was good and comforting, and the portions were big. However, the service was slow, I had to wait a long time for my food even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. It was nice to try some traditional Hungarian dishes, but I wouldn’t come back for a meal

Great lunch! - Edit
Went for lunch for two and had 2 drinks and 2 mains (falafel platter and seitan and potatoes in paprika). All very tasty and good portion size. Price was very reasonable too. Would come back again.

Vegan Hungarian food - Edit
Charming restaurant and always happy to see a fully vegan restaurant on our travels. Like other reviewers, we got the lavish sharing platter in an effort to try some traditional Hungarian flavors, which we regretted. Looking around, we wished we had ordered something different, the pizzas and desserts looked delicious!

Veganised Hungarian Fare - Edit
If you want to try traditional Hungarian food but are vegan then this is a pretty good choice. Out of the five dishes we ordered four were delicious. However the main, a sharing platter, was terrifying. It consisted of various breaded and fried meat and cheese substitutes. These lay atop some disgruntled looking lettuce and a small portion of rice and peas. It was salty, greasy and despite this wholly inedible. We left most of it, and I’d advise you to avoid it at all costs. The starters we ordered, a bean goulash and a cold sour cherry soup were both very tasty. The desserts, particularly the vegan crepes were very impressive. Service was attentive and prices reasonable. If they got rid of the sharing platter it’d be a five from me.

Amazing - Edit
We had the lavish platter for two which was excellent, the cakes are amazing. The other time we had goulash and Sauerkraut Stew. Also very good. The long-haired waiter is such a professional, his presence makes you feel like you were invited here.

Good location, lots of desert options - Edit
Nice place with lots of indoor seating as well as outdoor. Tends to get busy around dinner time so make sure to book reservations.
Read moreWe ordered traditional dishes, the seitan stew was good the rest not so much. Could be because we are not a fan of the cuisine. Big portions.
They have a very large selection of cakes and some pastries and icecream. A perfect place to indulge. The cake we tried was very good, would love to try out more.
Pros: Large cake selecion, Big portions, Very inviting venue

Best vegan Gulash - Edit
I tried a few vegan Gulash here in Budapest but this one was the best! It was really filling, even when the portion did not look like that. It was not too salty, not like other Gulash I tried. My parents had the falafel plate, they said it was okay. So when you go there, I would defenetly recommend the Gulash!

Disappointment for the best reviewed in Budapest - Edit
We visited this restaurant as the best reviewed in Budapest. Got the plate for two and it was big dissapointment. Everything was deep fried and just thrown on a plate. Lemonades are just water with syrup (we would appreciate some fruit in it - maybe lemon or something). The unterior is little weird and service could be better too.

Very disappointing vegam experience - Edit
The main meal for two sounded good on paper- but was super disappointing. I wasn't opting for a fast food. The reviews are misleading saying its a healthy food place. Service could improve too. We asked of they could put the airvon on, we got a no as an answer. It was so hot in that place that it was difficult to breathe. Very expensive for what we got...
