We ate well here. The portion sizes are good and there are options for veggies and more limited but some options for vegans. We had Gyozas and two okonomiyaki between us!
Read moreStaff were very slick and friendly. We visited on a Saturday evening where we joined the queue at about 6:25pm and got seated at 7:40pm so may have mistimed our visit compared to some of the other reviews here. Last orders were around 8:25.

Only giving 3 stars as I preferred Jirokichis food. There was a decent sized queue when we arrived but it went quick enough (think we queued for about 20 mins), loved the style of the place, service was great and quick - the food, I found a bit dry but I still enjoyed it - it was my first Hiroshima okonomiyaki experience, but we went to Jirokichi the following evening where I personally preferred the food. I’d still recommend this place as it is lovely.

J'ai pris les gyozas et un okonomiyaki vegan, et tout était vraiment délicieux ! Et copieux en . Les cuisiniers cuisinent devant vous si vous demandez une place au comptoir ce qui est très chouette, et le personnel est adorable. En plus de tout c'est assez copieux pour un prix correct.

We sat at the counter, which was really fun, and got to see them making all the food, which was quite an experience
I'm lactose intolerant so it was reassuring to see my food was being made nowhere near the cheese options - and that they really cleaned down between the dozens they make at once.
The food was delicious, and they have vegan sauces which are clearly labelled

They have options covering the whole spectrum between Vegan and Vegetarian for both Okonomiyaki and side dishes like Gyoza. I went to this place in 2015 as a lacto-vegetarian. When I was back in Hiroshima in 2017 I made sure to return and try the vegan option. Both experiences were great.

if you're vegan, skip this place. they do have a vegan option but it's very simple and boring flavor wise, and it doesn't really feel like you "get" the okonomiyaki experience. fine in a pinch, but not if you have time for other things.

Customizable okonomiyaki and vegan sides - Edit
It was great that I could customize my okonomiyaki exactly how I wanted. They even had a separate vegetarian menu with vegan options for sides and okonomiyaki, which was a nice surprise. However, I did notice that the vegetarian and vegan options were a bit pricier than the other dishes on the menu. One downside was that it was extremely warm inside, which made the dining experience a bit uncomfortable. Still, the food was delicious and the service was great!

While the setting and experience is cool and if you wish to try okonomoyaki go for it, but this was absolutely flavourless. The sauce is nice but you’re eating a mass of food that tastes like nothing and has a thick layer of gummy substance due to the melted rice cake and dry noodles.

A couple of minutes away from Genbaku Dome. They aren’t kidding with their sign saying 90 minutes wait. But so worth it! Here you can try Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki, which has noodles and mochi in it (different from Osaka-style). They have both Vegan and Vegetarian options (even lacto-vegetarian) for both Okonomiyaki and side dishes like Gyoza. The Okonomiyaki was super garlicky and tasty with vegan condiments (okonomiyaki sauce, spicy sauce and even lemon Tabasco. Yes, lemon Tabasco). At least at table seats, you get your own clean Teppan (hot plate) in front of you so there’s no worry of cross contamination. Great place!

原爆ドームのすぐ近く。お昼時を外して行きましたが、だいぶ並びました。看板にある90分待ちは伊達じゃない...。でも、お好み焼きは最高！ガーリックたっぷり、麺と餅が入った広島のお好み焼きがヴィーガン仕様で食べられました。ソースも植物性で、味変に激辛ソースやレモスコも置いてあります。サイドメニューも豊富で食べられるものが多くて嬉しい。ただ、ヴィーガン・ベジタリアンメニューは普通の日本語メニューには載っていないので、別で持ってきてもらう必要があったのがほんのちょっと残念かも。ヴィーガンの広島お好み焼きはここがオススメです！

Very authentic okonomiyaki restaurant next to Hiroshima memorial area with a nice and friendly atmosphere. They are very busy so you have to wait a bit but it is worth the time in my opinion.

Both the vegan gyoza and the veggie/vegan soba okonomiyaki is great! Don't forgot to put the vegan sauce on it yourself. It's a little dry without.

Uninspired but okay vegan Okonomiyaki - Edit
The vegan okonomiyaki are okay, not bad but also not very good. It seems like the cook creating the vegan okonomiyaki was mainly thinking about what non vegan ingredients have to be removed to make a vegan okonomiyaki instead of thinking about how to substitute ingredients like eggs etc. with vegan alternatives. Also there is no vegan mayonnaise. You can get better vegan okonomiyaki in Osaka at OKO Okonomiyaki!
