Life changing - Edit
This is one of my new favorite restaraunts EVER. The pistachio cheesecake legit changed my life. HIGHLY recommend the chorizo croquettes. The Caesar salad and mushroom burger were also amazing.

Very expensive for the experience - Edit
While I thought the food was really tasty, I think the overall experience isn't worth the price.
Read moreThe staff was not the nicest. Not rude or anything, but not the most welcoming.
It's quite a noisy place when busy.
Dishes are expensive but very good. However, desserts are definitely overpriced. It was really good too, don't get me wrong, but this was just not a justified price for a dessert.
Pros: Tasty food
Cons: Noisy place when busy, Very expensive, especially desserts

Friendly, easy to reach, excellent quality 👑 but everything contains garlic - Edit
Close to King's Cross train station & many bus & subway stops. Friendly staff. Medium site place, a few seats outside. Often completely overcrowded after 6 p.m., probably go there around 5 p.m. or rsvp on their website. Garlic free menu available 😉 Nice desserts, drinks and cocktail creations. Menu changes. Very good fries. Excellent spices in Indian food. Sadly, as of 2026, everything contains garlic and not one single food item except of plain bread — according to staff — can be prepared garlic-free.

We've been to Mildreds before but this was the first time at King's Cross.
We shared spinach gyoza, szechuan cabbage, Cumberland sausage and mash, and artichoke caesar salad.
The gyoza were the least impressive, but everything else was great.
We really liked the pecorino wine too.

Mildreds the third comes in second. - Edit
After the disappointment of the Camden Mildreds I contemplated taking my ear plugs with me but half the reason for this night out was of course to catch up with an old friend so I determined that if the muzak was anything like the Camden branch I'd forgot doing a meal review and go to Itadaki-Zen round the corner instead. Thank fully the new spacious style Kings Cross Mildreds is pleasant and welcoming. Not as cosy or decibel friendly as the original Soho "branch" but equally busy - though in truth we did sneak in on the last night of the opening month special offer !
Read moreThe staff are a little too keen, it felt a little "american" in terms of service that borders on hassle. But I was lucky enough to find an old comrade amongst the staff from the old days at Pogo cafe and so got the low down on how things are. The menu is veg with most offerings having vegan options. We couldn't see the daily specials board but the waitress knew what was on it and we ordered a soup to share. The main course arrived before we had finished the soup, and instead of taking it away and waiting - the table we were at had no space for extra crockery - I mopped up the soup and went straight in to the main course. Not good. The food was great, ale pie with sweet potato chips instead of fries went down a treat. The Polish burger that my friend ordered was very tasty and solid, though the bread bun a little too hard.
Mildreds Kings X suffers from the same lack of sugar free dessert options that the others do which is a shame. It's weird that when the powers that be have finally realised that sugar and eating meat aren't healthy options, vegetarian outlets like this are still serving up refined sugar soaked sweets with no alternatives.
That being said we shared the cherry truffles- one a piece - which are delightful, if likely to bring on early diabetes.
Update 1/4/26 we had a Shared Menu meal for 3. First course was fab. Main course sweetcorn was lovely but the curry and the rice bowl were way too hot/spicy for us to eat. They made us a quick and simple alternative but it was a shame that there was no warning about the curry as we would not have ordered it. Service was great, menu info not so.

Dramatic quality decline - Edit
I used to come here all the time, but in the past couple of years the food quality has gone seriously downhill. It felt like the sort of mezze plate or burger thrown together in a pub, once it was a real treat coming here. Now you get a fake meat burger slathered with chutney or vegetables covered in harissa. I imagine new ownership or they’ve become too chainy.

Always a winner! - Edit
One of my favourite restaurants in London. Conveniently located on Pentonville Road, close to Kings Cross station. This bright and airy restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner where vegetables and plants are to star of the show. Different type of international flavours. Excellent service. Reservations recommended.

Super disappointing - Edit
Given it was £44 for 2 breakfasts and 2 drinks, I expected a lot more.
Read moreMy cappuccino came in a cup with no handle, so you have to scold your hand to hold it. They automatically included gratuity in the bill - I usually tip but hate this custom of adding it for you - especially when the service was so slow.
The full English didn't include bacon, that was an extra £4. It came with one sausage, an extra £5 if you wanted another. No hash browns either. The beans were spicy beans in a cup, the tofu scramble was wet and tasteless, the spinach and tomatoes were just a soggy mess. There was some nice toast and potato cubes but that was about it. It was worse than a wetherspoons vegan breakfast, yet 4 times the price.
Absolutely will not be coming back and I think this is my first negative review on HappyCow. It's a £5 breakfast at best and I would give 1 star if I could.
Pros: Potato cubes
Cons: The food, The price

Worth all the Positive Reviews! - Edit
I was surprised to see they had so many locations, but after trying it, I could see why. I went on a weekend at lunch time and was lucky enough to get a table, but I'd recommend booking in advance. There's a nice selection of sweet and savoury brunch options. I had the meze brunch, which was a little pricey, but, with the exception of the tofu scramble, all the components were delicious. I did like the tofu scramble, but I just thought it could have been a little more flavourful. Otherwise, a great experience.
