Vegan food for your Sintra adventures - Edit
Little cafe with a good amount of seating in Sintra near the train station. Take the huge staircase down to the lower street. Open 09:00-18:00 Thursday-Tuesday.
Read moreLots of baked goods, juices, hot drinks, and gluten free choices.
I grabed a chai tea to go and sone croquettes. The chai was made from a tea bag inatead of powder so wasn't the best. The croquettes were tastey. Should have ordered a different drink and gotten more food but was already late for my day. Would recommend as a place to load up on food before heading out for your day exploring Sintra.

Mixed review - Edit
The empanadas were incredible, 5/5 but the quiche was really bad unfortunately, it was just a pile of vegetables with no tofu or egg replacement holding it together at all

Saved the day - Edit
We took a day trip to Sintra and were dropped in the city centre to find our own lunch. We had about 80 minutes so walked to this spot which was 15 minutes or so each way. Fairly straightforward to find and worth the trek.
Read moreService was a little slow (felt more-so due to time constraints) and the terrace was full so we found a seat inside. We were in a bit of a rush so ordered the empanadas from the showcase along with a lemonade and iced tea. Both drinks were green! The iced tea was unsweetened and tasted a little minty and gingery, the lemonade was quite tart. Both refreshing.
The empanadas were served cold which was a bit disappointing but it was a hot day so we didn’t mind too much. They were very flavourful though came with a chimichurri sauce that was decent but could have used more punch.
The showcase had some delicious looking cakes and pies but we had to get back to our group. We left satisfied that we’d had a tasty vegan lunch in a tourist town that doesn’t offer much for vegans.
Pros: Tasty food and drinks, Lots of seating, Easy to find
Cons: Slow service, Food served cold

Shady oasis - Edit
Such a treasure of a find. Shady spacious terrace, lovely small plates. We had croquettes, tofu empenada and rissole - fresh and flavoursome. Delicious fresh juice too - watermelon and mint. Just 2 mins from the station but tucked down on a quieter street. Very handy for a break between the two main tourist bus routes and all the sightseeing. Lovely staff too!

Many options and great hummus - Edit
Really great place. We got the starter with hummus and olives and the vegan feta cheese on the side and loved it. We didn’t love the tofu sun-dried toast as much though. There is a lovely outside sitting area with plants and shade.

Did not disappoint - Edit
I was a bit scared of going here, as I had some bad experiences going to popular touristic cities with only a small vegan selection. However, im very happy and grateful for this place!
Read moreI had a quiche which came with a side salad, that was surprisingly big. The quiche was very good, the dough crispy and the filling soft and well flavoured. The slize was quite big as well, so it was definetely good to stop here before visiting the national park. I dont know what it was about the salad, but it tasted so special. Like something about the seeds or in the dressing have it this very particular great taste.
Pros: Close to the main station, Good pricing, Good portion size

Worth the trip to Sintra alone :) - Edit
Sintra is beautiful, but this gem was worth the train fare there from Lisbon alone😄was lucky enough to go there on a Sunday, so got to try their brunch special, which was huge. The staff was friendly and very attentive, and sent the leftovers with me, perfect as a packed lunch for the hike out to Cape Roca. The brunch consisted of yoghurt with topping and fresh fruits, a glass of juice, amazingly fluffy pancakes , a huge toast and coffee/tea.

Had a great breakfast here (Tofu scramble) then headed for a hike the Pena Palace/Castle of the Moors/Pena Gardens. The rushed back before their kitchen closes (17:30) for dinner. Highly recommend this place !!
