I've been to this place on two separate occasions. On the first occasion, I got their chicken salad sandwich and, on the second, I got their sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. The chicken salad was just okay, but the breakfast sandwich was delish. I can't really explain how it was delish because it's literally comprised of some kind of homemade, sausage-tasting grain patty, an egg-y tofu puree, and an everything bagel, but it is worth the try! For two sandwiches, we paid $20 with a tip, so not too bad. These are hefty sandwiches.
Read moreThe deli also serves some of Dottie's Donuts, and you can get a lot of their meats and cheeses from the Herbiverous Butcher to go, so there are lots of items to choose from. Reading Terminal Market, where this place is located, is a fun and high energy atmosphere, making this place extra worth the stop.

Impressive selection of products they sell. Breakfast sandwiches were pretty good, “egg” could use a little more seasoning in our opinion. Empanadas, turkey, coffee cake, and brownie all pretty good too. The guy that helped us our second day there was very friendly and accommodating.

They had some great options, I went for the bbq sub made of seitan (that’s their mock meat of choice) - it was delicious. I should’ve also had some of their cakes for dessert, it looked very tempting.

Had the Cheesesteak, which was awesome! They have a lot of options on the menu and in the grab and go fridges, so I will have to go back and try more of their food. Was a touch salty but otherwise awesome and the service was quick.

I’m at a conference right across the street where the provided vegan lunch was lettuce, taco shells, salsa, and cauliflower. (Commence sobbing) Luckily I had time to duck into Reading Terminal and get the best corned seitan sandwich ever!!!! It was so good!

I was only in Philly less than 48 hours, but I was able to go to 2 vegan places. I was familiar with LUHV from their black bean and plantain frozen burgers at Whole Foods in Virginia. I enjoyed the "crab" cake sandwich, it was hard to choose because several things sounded good. Had to throw out the garbanzo salad, it was bland and I also don't like things permeated with cucumber flavor. The chocolate cake was good though. Would go back!

Food Stand at the Reading Terminal Market with many options for vegan sandwiches. They have their home made meat alternatives, most made out of seitan. I had the Italian Sandwich with vegan Salami, Ham and Capicola, Provolone, Tomatoes and Salad, and it was delicious!

We tried the spicy superfood salad, energy soup, and a Philly cheesesteak (made from seitan). The spicy superfood salad was not spicy, and not very superfood-y either. I would skip this. The energy soup was also not that good IMO, not much flavor other than saltiness. The cheesesteak was really good though, and if you’re looking to try one then this is great spot for it.

For out-of-towners staying downtown, Luhv was perfect. Our meal was delicious & fast, and we got to-go deli items to take back home. Reading Market isn’t an ideal location, but we were grateful nonetheless.

Great having this option at the market. Makes this a great place to come to when with your non-vegan friends. The menu is great large with take away groceries for sale as well, and of course their food is excellent.
