A solid vegan bistro in Warsaw

I was impressed with Lokal, they do vegan versions of traditional polish food and accomplish their goal quite well. I just wouldn't exactly call it healthy, the food is balanced and fresh but with many high-fat sauces which is a PERSONAL turn-off. Many people would really enjoy it but it's just not for me, however I do recommend it!

Pros: Tasty food, Fresh ingredients, Hip atmosphere

Cons: High-fat sauces, "Heavy" food, Kind of pricey

Huge meals

This is a very cool spot with nice atmosphere. We were looking for more traditional Polish food done in a vegan style and this was the place. The dishes rely a lot on cabbage and potatoes with soy meat done in different styles. They warned us that the plates are large but the meals are really huge. You don't need a starter and you won't have room for dessert. Show up if you're hungry it's good value for money. They also have a small selection of local microbrews. The staff were really helpful even though we showed up close to closing time. If you're in the mood for a big meal of Polish comfort food this is the place.

Polish comfort food

The bistro offers homemade-style dishes that are typically served in Polish homes, including some of our comfort foods, veganized.
The interior is very spacious and bright, but not fancy. Again, feels like home.
The food is very tasty and reasonably priced. Big portions.
Offers not-so-healthy indulgence food, as well as healthier options for a proper meal.

simple & tasty

We had a tempeh salad, some kind of schnitzel with potatoes, and plum cake for dessert. All very tasty and in a lovely clean environment.

Extremely boring. Can't recommend.

I'm really impressed of vegan boom in Warsaw, but should notice, that not every vegan spot would become a something special. I can't recommend the third main dish in menu (soy steak with potatoes and salad), because it's almost boring and not healthy vegan dish. It hasn't fantasy. Moreover, I'm pretty sure, that this soy steak isn't organic. It costs very little money in ordinary polish supermarket. Potatoes is also very cheap veggie and extremely simple as a salad. You can't name a dish as a "traditional polish" if you just offer a bit of soy instead of meat. It can't costs 16 zl. It's not organic. So, unfortunately, i can't recommend this place at all, maybe, you can try another dishes, but not the third one...

Pros: Vegan

Cons: Boring (not simple!)

Very Tasty Traditional Polish Food Veganzed!

This is a great choice for a restaurant if you are looking for very tasty traditional Polish food made vegan.

I ordered a pasta with a white cream vegan sauce, and it was quite tasty, but I more enjoy my friend's Polish soy 'schnitzel'. I have been told that this is very close to the original traditional dish. Either way, it was delicious.

This restaurant does fill up, so if you are looking for a quick bite, you might want to call ahead to see if there are tables.

Pros: Delicious traditional vegan Polish food

Delicious polish cuisine!Pyszna polska kuchnia!

I have visited Vegan Bistro twice few days ago and cannot forget these flavours!Polish cuisine has got plenty to offer, Im happy to try tradiotional dishes in a vegan version. Ive tried the schabowy with potatoes and salad; and roasted veg with lentil patties and red cabbage slaw. Both delicious!Nice and friendly staff.

Odwiedzilam Vegan Bistro dwa razy i nie zapomne tych smakow!
Polska kuchnia ma wiele do zaoferowania; fajnie ze mozna sprobowac tradycyjnych potraw w werji weganskiej.
Probowalam schabowego z ziemniaczkami i surowka a takze pieczonych warzyw z kotlecikami z soczewicy i surowka z kapusty czerwonej. Obydwa dania pyszne.Mila obsluga.

Pros: Polish vegan cuisine, Location, Good size portions

Cons: Only soy milk for coffee, Interior design could be moreInteresting

Vegan Polish Heaven

Recently opened 100% vegan bistro serves only traditional Polish food. They serve a couple of Polish main courses and soups as well as Polish fast food called "ZAPIEKANKA".The food is delicious and stunning. The prices are very good. Quality the highest. I highly recommend Polish tomato soup- "POMIDOROWA" and traditional Polish main courses- I've tried 3 of them.Everything tastes exactly like my grandma's cuisine. I will be back asap.Portions are big- which is a very Polish thing :) This joins the group of my fav vegan heavens. The place is very popular and usually crowded.

best vegan traditional polish cuisine

Yummy, tasty, fresh and refreshingly not overengineered menu with traditional polish dishes vegan way. Cozy, yet modest interior fits well the DIY vibe of punk crew that runs this place. Arguable the strongest spot on Warsaw vegan map!

Polish Vegan Comfort Food

Lokal Vegan Bistro is the newest addition to the ever-growing Warsaw vegan quest.

The menu is limited but offers four main dishes (two excellent Polish-inspired options, Penne with tempeh and Goulash), two seasonal soups, two fast food items (seitan kebab and vegetable pie), and some desserts.

We tried the tomato soup with homemade dumplings (polish-style green gnocchi), the beetroot cutlets with millet, and the soy "schnitzel" with mashed potatoes. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented and I'm very eager to try the rest of the menu!

The restaurant is welcoming, bright and spacious, and the staff is very friendly.

Gluten-free. Pet-friendly. Wi-fi and card payments available soon (payments by cash only).

Pros: Tasty food, Bright restaurant, Affordable and friendly
