Local and Vegan - Edit

What kind of crazy city is this? You step out of the hotel and are faced with a vegan place, namely this one and at least least 10 more within 5-10 minutes walking distance. I've been away 3 years and this happens. It's a pleasure to be back, as Scottish crooner Jim Kerr from Simple Minds still says at all of their gigs. And why not. You can't knock them. I had a quick stop off for some wifi action and possibly the best Thai soup I have ever had in my life. It was tomato and coconut milk but made in the Polish style with lots of chunky vegetables and noodles for only 14 PLN. I absolutely loved it. Big portions too which is exactly the way I like things. Sometimes it's about the quantity for me but here we have the quality too. Unfortunately I probably won't be back but that's only because I have dozens of other vegan places to squeeze in. The adventure continues.

Pros: friendly, great food, great prices

Lokal Love - Edit

Great food. The two of us had a Hungarian goulash, the snitchel, and some street food "pizza". All were excellent, and, of course, 100% vegan! Menu was in Polish but staff was happy to help us navigate the menu in English. Great vegan find in Warsaw!

Pros: All vegan, Helpful staff, Tasty food

wonderful, delicious - Edit

It was nice too eat traditional polish meal since a long time. Soy meat "Schabowy" tasted like real Schabowy but could be more juicy. Sauer cream on the vegetables was just the same as dairy cream. I'm going to ask them how they can make it. Maybe they give me a littler of the secret? And "jagodzianki from Magda", which means sweat, soft bans with forest blueberries or raspberries, were amazing! 6 zloty for one ban but very big, can be divided for two girls. We're so good it was too late to take photo:)

Pros: sauer cream, sweat buns with blueberries , tasty prepared soy meat "Schabowy", outside tables, helpful stuff

Must visit when in Warsaw - Edit

I think it's safe to say this place is one of the most popular vegan restaurants in Poland. If you're ever in Warsaw, this is definitely a place you have to visit. They serve what I believe is the best vegan traditional Polish cuisine. I went there with my meat-eating parents. My father and I both ordered schabowy: a kind of cutlet/schnitzel and a Polish staple, quite possibly the most popular dish in the restaurant, served with seasonal veggies (in our case it was delicious potatoes with tomatoes and mizeria - cucumbers). It was just mouth-watering and my father said it tasted just as good as the meat original; the portion was so huge I has trouble walking when I got up from the table! My mother got a salad with avocado, tomatoes and chickpeas, which she said was really good too with a yummy sauce. The staff was kind and the interior was a mixture between modern hipster and oldschool. In summer there's an option to eat outside too. They also offer vegan snacks for pets.

Pros: best vegan Polish cuisine, huge portions

Cons: some dishes may be fatty

Yummy! - Edit

I tried the baba ganoush with mash and fava beans and the soy chicken salad and both were tasty. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and an English menu. What more could you ask for?

Pros: tasty, interesting, beers

SO good! - Edit

Oh god, this place is so good. I'm from Austria so I grew up eating Schnitzel and finding a vegan version, that tastes amazing, was heaven for me! We had both schabowy and the tempeh "meat balls" and we thought both was excellent.

Delicious! - Edit

I ordered the 'schabowy', aka a schnitzel, and my dad ordered these mushroom roulades or rolls or something, for takeaway because it was so stuffy and hot inside despite the two large ceiling fans. The schnitzel came with perfectly cooked potatoes and dill, lettuce leaves and some 'mizeria', a cucumber salad, and some radish slices. It was very tasty, and the texture and look of it was spot on in my opinion. My dad's little mushroom rolls were crunchy on the outside, and the inside had mushrooms and sauerkraut. When I tasted one of these rolls I couldn't believe how delicious they were, I recommend these rolls 100%, one of the best vegan foods I've ever had. These rolls came with some beautifully cooked kapusta (I guess this is called sauerkraut also), and some orzo and salad leaves. I actually preferred the mushroom rolls to the schnitzel. The restaurant itself was not very big, but had enough space inside for a few tables. There were tables on the outside as well, I assume because it is the summer months and it was actually stuffier and warmer inside than outside. The prices were absolutely adequate. My non-vegan dad really enjoyed his meal, and so did I :) Definitely coming back again!

One thing I would also like to mention is that if I thought it was hot and stuffy inside, I can't imagine how hot it was for the workers! I saw that they looked very warm and exhausted, and so I would love if they had better working conditions because that kind of stuffiness is just unhealthy. They should have their own little fans pointing at them, or maybe even some sort of air conditioning or ventilation system, because they were literally baking themselves in there. I hope they do get better working conditions!

Pros: Delicious food, Didn't wait that long, Take away available

Cons: Too hot and stuffy inside, lacks air con, Lack of fans or air con for the workers at the cou, Could be more spacious

Nice place! - Edit

I am a regular customer and in my opinion it's perfect place to take meat-eating friend.
There is always one main dish just for 10 zl, so everybody can afford it.
The food is delicious, mayby a little bit to fat sometimes, but the variety is huge and the menu changes every 2 weeks.

Pros: food, good value, dogs are welcome

Cons: crowded, close on Monday

A go to place for fake meats and more - Edit

The "schabowy" is what made this place famous in Warsaw and that's probably why, every two weeks when there is a new menu, you always can find it. It's really good and tastes almost like the real deal.
Every time I ate there I wasn't disappointed, the food was great and the size of meals was just perfect. The price is not the lowest but there are lunch options, entrees and fast foods which are somewhat cheaper.
A great place to try polish dishes which normally are with meat and not only that. Every two weeks there are dishes from around the world also.

Pros: Amazing food, Big portions, Friendly staff

Cons: Some dishes a bit too pricey

Traditional heavy Polish cuisine - Edit

I heard a lot of good things about this place from my friend and visited when was in Warsaw. I was a little bit disappointed. Everything was heavy, greasy - mostly fried, no any fresh salads. I ate one set meal in the restaurant and the second one to take away, the taste was ok, but I prefer lighter food with fresh salads.

Pros: Big portions, Not expensive

Cons: Heavy and greasy, no fresh green salad in the set menu

Delicious Polish food - Edit

This place is really bright and spacious, a nice relaxing restaurant. The staff explained the menu to us in English, and said that the menu changes quite often but the "schabowy classic" is a constant fixture, so we had to try it. It was like a huge, delicious schnitzel served with mashed potato and salad. The soy steak was juicy, crispy and delicious! It was a really hearty, satisfying meal.

Wonderful Polish cuisine with a healthy twist - Edit

Similar in simplistic hipster interior decor to the other vegan spots in Warsaw, this bistro is cosy spot for a vegan, mouth-watering take on traditional Polish cuisine. We had a Schnitzel with mashed potato and cucumber salad - definitely the best schnitzel-style vegan "meat" we've tried. The breading, neither oily nor dry, complemented the "meat" instead of overpowering it and the overall taste as well as texture surprisingly authentic. Another dish we tried consisted of veggie patties, perfectly roasted whole carrots and cabbage salad. A very rich (not in the sense of "oily"!) Polish soup/stew rounded our meal off. It was easily my favorite dish, a caleidoscope of flavours created by the potatoes, very savoury kielbasa-style veg sausage, vinegar and herbs. One of the best dinners we had in Warsaw for sure.

Pros: Flavourful, Wide range of dishes, Not heavy

Ok here we go - Edit

This place is basically Warsaw's equivalent of London's Black Cat Café. In other words it's absolutely great. I had a 'refugee burger' (basically a burger with vaguely Middle Eastern flavours) and a beautifully peanutty/fruity milkshake. Highly recommend. Most days I'm alive I'm sad I don't live in Warsaw so I could eat here.

Yummy vegan food - Edit

I finally got to try some 'traditional' polish food! It was good, tasty food and they serve beer. The staff speak English and there's an English menu. My omni boyfriend had a burger and loved it. I think the most expensive dish was 25zl (~£5).

Pros: Great food, Locally inspired dishes

Cons: Ran out of most dishes (we went late at night)

Traditional polish food - Edit

Modern and cozy place at center of Warsaw that serves traditional polish food in vegan style at inexpensive price.
The staff are friendly although they don't speak english very well.
The food is good but no amazing. sometimes is to much heavy, they put a lot of greasy sauces to everything.
Isn't a bad place but you can find better places to eat in Warsaw.

Pros: Traditional polish food, Inexpensive

Cons: Heavy food, A bit greasy
