Vegan Taiwanese Streetfood - Edit

I’ve tried Aubergenius and Jacko Wacko - as well as their lil dims.
Aubergenius is a bao filled with braised eggplant, fresh cucumber, fried onion and crushed peanuts! It’s umami and soft, simply divine.
Jacko Wacko is filled with pulled jackfruit (super meaty!), smacked cucumber, fried onions and crushed peanuts. This one was my favorite, the chili oil inside added an amazing spice.
Their lil dims are mini steamed dumplings with a veggie filling and hoisin sauce. Nothing special tbh, tasty nevertheless.
The staff is friendly and they also offer some good drinks, for example kombucha with chili and pineapple!

We were eagerly waiting a few hours for this place to open up for dinner. And it was WELL worth the wait.

We had four different bao: an eggplant one, jackfruit, meaty one and a chicken one. All of them were so diverse and so tasty. Can’t believe it. The meaty one and chicken one tasted like a burger in the most nostalgic way.

Great Vegan Food - Edit
My wife and I had dinner here while visiting Brussels. It is located approximately a 15 minute walk from the Grand Place. We were lucky that it wasn't very busy when we got there and were quickly seated. The staff is really friendly (and spoke great English!). We ordered the spring rolls and wontons for starters and the hot chick and rambao for our mains. All of them were really tasty! My wife enjoyed the spring rolls so much she had a second order of them! To top it off, we shared the chocolate mousse and Da Baomb. Both were delicious as well! By the time we left, almost all of the tables were full so it is definitely popular! Next time we're in Brussels, we'll definitely be back!

Can't complain about anything. The place is nice, the service is good and both baos I tried were really good! I recommend the Rambao because I really liked its pea protein fake meat. It's kinda expensive but that's what I expected in Brussels tbh

Very friendly staff, tourist friendly! Easy to order/pay. Chill open kitchen. We got 4 bao, two sides, two drinks and were plenty full. Price is similar to what we pay in the states so no sticker shock.

Have you ever tried eating fries with chopsticks? - Edit
If not - don't worry, I haven't either, but I tried for the first time at Lil Bao and it was surprisingly comfortable. The food is very tasty, spices are perfectly balanced. It's "Asia meets Belgium" on a plate - I loved their loaded fries and will definitely be returning. The place is very cute, not much space, but not very crowded either.

Both baos - amazing. Sadly I didn't realise the fillings were pretty similar so there wasn't that much difference between them. Nonetheless, fluffy buns with fried and juicy toppings.
But the WONTONS - wooooow. I could've eaten 20. Slightly spicy and the meat inside is actually perfection. I HIGHLY recommend them as a side dish!!!!

If Zero Stars was possible... - Edit
Style over substance? Perhaps. Ive had bao, wonton, dumplings etc more times in my life than I can count, but I have to admit I've never eaten so much raw dough before visiting this restaurant. The bao bun had elements of raw dough to it, the wontons were so raw that the filling(which could have been delightful...) was actually cold. The dimsum lacked flavour aside from the unmistakable sickening tang of raw dough. The dishes looked great for the sake of photos, but I'm not sure that the kids who served us have been remained in much more than presentation. This is sincerely the first time I've ever felt close to vomiting during a meal at an expensive restaurant. Really had to forced down almost every bite after the first couple of chomps. Each bao was at least 9 euro when they shouldn't have been more than 2.50. Feels like a wasted opertunity as the restaurant is in a good location.
