Good vegan options! - Edit
We visited different Le Pain Quotidien restaurants when on holiday in Belgium. They are always in very central touristic places and offer some great vegan options. For coffee/tea time, I really loved the “Chocolate Delice” cake, but didn’t like the berry muffin too much (too dry). For breakfast, the avocado toast is good, granola is good but a small portion, or you could just have bread (e.g. cranberry and nuts flute) with sweet spreads/jam (the “Noir” chocolate spread is sooo good – the spreads are on the tables but there are different ones. If you don’t find this on your table, it is worth checking out the spreads on other tables or asking for it). I was with a non-vegan friend and sharing the “Le Pain Quotidien” breakfast (where she ate the non-vegan Pain au chocolat and I ordered an additional soy cappuccino) was great value - you could probably replace the Pain au chocolate with more baguette/bread . For lunch/dinner they also have salads/soups/bowls and dishes like that. Although Le Pain Quotidien is a chain restaurant, there’s a good and cosy atmosphere.
Read moreAt this branch I once got a small milk chocolate with my soy cappucino (the cappuccino was with soy milk, but I wasn't so sure about it at first). In other "Le Pain Quotidien" restaurants they were more thoughtful and friendly!

Nice Café with amazing croissants - Edit
I went here for breakfast and had an amazing hibiscus croissant. They also have a bowl with coconut yogurt or a vegan granola for breakfast.
Read moreTheir matcha latte is made with almond milk and it’s quite big.
Pretty pricey but it’s standard in Bruges
Pros: Multiple vegan options , Options clearly labeled
Cons: Expensive

It's okay - Edit
I liked le pain quotidien very much when I was in Paris, there are tasty vegan options. But I didn't like the service here, I wasn't sure if I should wait to be seated so I waited and the server looked at me and walked away many times so I just took a seat and after some minutes and ask me if he could help me... yeah, I am at a restaurant, how would you help me?! Well, I want to eat food.. Very weird and he wasn't very friendly after.. Anyways tasty food.

Delicious - Edit
Delicious bread!! Absolutely. A few vegan pastries and muffins and a good amount of vegan options on their eat-in menu. Always reliable as it is a chain.

Questionable.. - Edit
We had some amazingly delicious and it’s amazing that they have quite a few cruelty free, vegan food and drink options, however we were quite disappointed that three items that we ordered were labeled as vegan arrived accompanied with non vegan products. First of all this could be deemed very offensive to some vegans. This makes us loose trust in your business and question weather the vegan meals were even vegan. Also, some people may order vegan options due to dairy allergies so it can cause a big health issues for them. If I order something labeled as vegan I’m not supposed to check all the ingredients again. We explained this to the waitress but she shrugged it off and said “well some people who order are not vegan”. Then you shouldn’t label that as vegan in the first place.

Teuer & Seifige Dragon Fruit Bowl - Edit

VEGAN - nice food - Edit
Lots of different vegan options clearly labelled and hot drinks with soy and almond milk. I had the turmeric almond latte and it was lovely! I then had the vegetable pot pie, it was not a pie and was just vegetables in a bowl with quinoa but it was gorgeous and would get it again. It cost around €10 which wasn't too bad for what I got. In general however it is pretty pricey with avocado on toast meals etc costing around €15/16 but we found it was only average for Bruges in terms of price comparison.

Nice light lunch, in vintage decor - Edit
This is from a visit at the end of 2016.
Read moreThis is the second location of LPQ in Bruges, and I like this one much better than the other one (near the Market).
It has a charming vintage feel, with seperate rooms. Although it can be quite a busy atmosphere.
There's also a large terrace at the back.
Vegan options are indicated with carrot on menu. Light lunch options.
Reasonably priced (we had lunch for two with drinks for about 40€). Didn't have to wait long.
AGAIN, the bread came with cow butter, despite asking everything vegan. Has happened on all our visits to different LPQ's throughout the country.
Surely by now they could have vegan butter available?
Toilets in the back were a bit dirty though.
Paying at the counter (where there was a long wait).

Good vegan lunch - Edit
This is a nice location, part of a chain of restaurants in Belgium and they all have the proposal of vegan dishes based on salad, bread, toast...
Read moreThey include things like quinoa, chickpeas, avocado, zucchini...so it's definitely very tasty.
For the desserts it chagnes apparently from location to location.
In Bruges we just had 1 blueberry muffin and none of the cheese cakes we are used to in other locations.
Good experience.
Pros: Good vegan ingredients, Nice place
Cons: No RAW cheese cakes when we passed by

Always a Good Backup Place - Edit
Visited in October 2016.
Read moreLike other Le Pain Quotidien (LPQ) branches, vegan items are marked with a carrot sign in the menu.
They offer tartines, soups, salads, and one "vegan plate" which comes with different things (and bread, of course).
This branch is located in the city center, in a nice building, so the atmosphere is a bit different than the other LPQ in Bruges.
For those like me who are used to LPQ in France, in Belgium they give you a chocolate with your coffee, which is nice. :)
The place was crowded; but still the staff was friendly and attentive enough.
Since there are always many choices for vegans, it's a good back-up place (and I think you need one in Bruges!).
Pros: vegan marks, good value
Cons: not fully vegan
