More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

Being anything else than vegan only perpetuates the idea that animals are commodities that can be used at will. Hence, I'm vegan for ethical reasons. Animals do not belong to us; and we are not the ones who should decide their fate. They should not be exploited, and of course not be killed. And, oh yes, it even helps to the environment!

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I found the site is extremely helpful when travelling, so I joined to give back by helping to keep the vegan restaurant list up-to-date. As a member, I found very useful that the site allows getting updated on the latest vegan listings, so that's another reason too.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

I'm very fond of Tokyo, Paris, Riga and Lima. Other cities I enjoyed visiting were Kyoto and Itsukushima in Japan, Cusco in Peru, and Luxembourg City. The vegan scene in Berlin is fantastic too.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Without a doubt, my favorite vegan food is the Japanese Buddhist cuisine, followed by the vegan version of the Macrobiotic cuisine (the version without fish). Some of the best vegan sweets I've had were in Tokyo, far better and creative than I have tried anywhere else. I'm not a big fan of raw food.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

It always depends on the person, on the moment.
