Wonderful food, great setting - Edit
Visited Aug ‘22. I absolutely should have reviewed this at the time, I loved this food. Not hugely familiar with Bristol but this did seem to be a bit off the beaten track – though I’m not a local. I only knew about it through word of mouth. Was super impressed with the lovely interior and the unique menu.
Read moreThe menu has changed since I went, but I think I shared the Koocha fried chicken burger (blue bun), sweet potato samosas, kotlet (mince/potato patties in a mint chilli salsa), gaymeh (aubergine & yellow split pea stew) & okra fries. I had the Turkish delight chocolate brownie for dessert. My only criticism was that this didn’t really taste like Turkish delight, just a regular brownie.
I think it was reasonably priced & the staff were lovely. I also loved the live plants on the wall.

Can't recommend this place enough. Lovely atmosphere, big menu and everything I've tried has been amazing. Staff always friendly and helpful and can talk you through anything on the menu you're not familiar with. Essential for any vegan in Bristol.

Stellar Vegan Nosh - Edit
Absolutely delicious completely vegan cuisine. Ate out with a party of 5, including several non-vegans, and everything was to die for. Best vegan kebab meat my partner has ever had. Lovely array of dishes to choose from and friendly staff, couldn't fault a thing.

UPDATE: NEW MENU!
Read moreI recently revisited Koocha for the second time to try their new menu and I can confirm that, despite the menu being smaller, the food is just as amazing! My dad and I had the Doner Kebab, Saffron and Tahini Kebabs, Kookoo, Sweet Potato Samosas, Osyter Mushroom Wings, Special Fries, and for dessert the Baklava…all of it was outstanding! All of the food was so fresh, portions were decent and as usual it was all so tasty! Even though they have taken things off the menu, I loved the new additions! Truly this is a unique restaurant with amazing food. The vibe and staff were even more friendly than last time and we cannot wait to return! The food is well worth the money! Such a gem in the heart of Bristol!
The food at Koocha is top tier vegan food in Bristol. The atmosphere is relaxed and upbeat but the food is, of course, the highlight. I visited with my dad who’s a meat eater and doesn’t usually enjoy vegan food but he wouldn’t stop raving about how amazing his doner kebab was! I had the saffron and tahini kebabs which were so tasty! The portion sizes are really decent here and the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. The menu is huge and there’s something for everyone; so much selection and everything is interesting and unique. The food at Koocha is unlike anywhere else; it’s very authentic. It’s an amazing feast spot for vegans but also non vegans can 100% enjoy a delicious meal here! There’s a huge array of mezze options to choose from on their menu, as well as their larger dishes such as kebabs, dirty fries and more! They also have a few delicious vegan desserts on offer; I had the Koopa which is fried cinnamon rice balls and they tasted amazing! This dessert was unlike any dessert I’ve ever had! It tasted like churros but was such a great texture and the portion size was amazing; my dad and I shared it! Overall, I will 100% be back to Koocha to try more on their menu and it has suddenly become one of my favourite restaurants in Bristol!

Divine food! - Edit
Wow, the mezze dishes here were so delicious! Finally some well flavoured and spiced food. Everything tasted differently, but all the flavours were really right. I can warmly recommend the okra fries, the samozahs, the Olivia salad, the za'atar flatbread... Pity they they were out of koopa for dessert, but the baklava and the icecream tasted so good too! 🤤 Man, I love this place! 🤩

Best vegan food so far - Edit
Wow. How good is this. We ordered 6 different mezze plates with flatbread and had 2 desserts to share. All. Just. Perfect. Must say, we both like our food to be full of flavour and spice, and this was definitely the case here. If we would have had a bigger stomach we would have ordered six more plates 😜 Bur I guess we will just have to return some other time.

Some of the most amazing vegan food ever! - Edit
On a visit to Bristol we were introduced to Koocha by a friend. The restaurant was very busy as it was a Friday night, but we were greeted in a friendly manner and shown to our table.
Read moreWe were absolutely enthralled with the menu; it was genuinely difficult to choose!
A plethora of side plates, each sounding as delicious as the last, arrived. We went with the gaymeh, dolmades, salad Olivia & two different portions of dirty fries (the shakshuka & the chick’n). All were delicious, and left me wanting more. For my main I chose the Kotlet kebabs, a Persian inspired kebab. My partner is Persian and verified the flavours were as good as any as he had ever tasted. My mouth was awash with the most wonderful flavours, and each dish was an absolute explosion of flavour that left me wanting to return to try more.
To finish we had baklava, which was a wonderful burst of flavour on the palate and the most perfect way to finish what had been a wonderful mezze adventure.
I am genuinely sad that I do not live in Bristol and will only get to visit this wonderful restaurant infrequently.

Amazing choice and great value for money - my new favourite place in Bristol - Edit
Came here on a Friday night and was glad I booked as it is clearly deservedly popular, with many people walking in having to be turned away. Great buzz to the place without being too noisy.
Read moreThe choice of mezze is great, with a great variety of dishes. We ordered six mezze between two people with a barbari bread for the artichoke dip and to mop up the gaymeh (kind of a stew) and that was plenty - and I speak as someone with a big appetite. Even if you're not up for mezze, the menu has burgers or kebabs as options.
Service was great - friendly, patient, efficient.
Really good value for money - we were absolutely stuffed but the bill came to around £22 per person even with though we had a mocktail each and service was included.
Pros: Huge variety of mezze to choose from, Friendly staff, Good vibe

Great mezze plates - Edit
Booked for dinner here and we sat upstairs. We asked how many mezze plates we should order and 3-4 per person was the advice do we ordered 3 each plus Zatar bread. Everything tasted amazing but the tabouleh and eggless kookoo and the broccoli were absolute stand outs for me. The bread was delicious too. 3 plates each were definitely enough for us. We also had mocktails which were nice.
