Top Tier Vegan Restaurant - Edit

Read moreI did get there in a busy time. They mentioned it will be a wait to get food. About 15 minutes. Which was fine for me. I was there to try the place.
I first got roasted mixed nuts as a little pre-appetizer. Also got a local sake. Very good sake. It was called tenpoichi. I do recommend. I guess it’s also part of the culture, they filled that glass to the brim. Not once, but twice since I got a second one and they do it on purpose. Balancing that glass making sure to not waste a drop felt like a mini game.
Next I got Karaage. I’ve seen the meat version before and always wanted to try a vegan version. So when I saw that, I told myself I’m getting it, no matter what. Had that and it was so good. Crunchy on the outside and juicy inside with a vegan mayonnaise I think you can dip in and it adds a whole other flavor profile. I think it’s mayonnaise, I could be wrong. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
Next I asked for Spicy Dandan noodles. Presentation was just gorgeous. Tasted amazing. The little decorative things are edible. Made me want more but I knew I needed to save room for dessert and I couldn’t decide while I was finishing my first dessert.
I got a parfait. I wish I took a picture of it on the menu but it looked so pretty and amazing and tasted even more amazing. While eating my strawberry and chocolate parfait, I was contemplating getting the chocolate cake like thing.
It’s supposed to be this high end, very rich chocolate, if I’m not mistaken like a French dessert. Sorry I didn’t get a picture of the menu item but death by chocolate coma. In a good way of course. So rich, you add a little of the vegan wipe cream to it, amazing. Just amazing. So glad I got it. I love chocolate and since back home, vegan desserts are very rare thing, I had to go all out.
I was surprised how much food I got and the two drinks. I wasn’t 100% full but I felt like 80% full which is exactly how you should do it from a Japanese proverb. I wasn’t content and off to my next experience.
The waitress who cashed me out noticed all the Hello Kitty plushies on my bag and I had to show them off. I love Hello Kitty so I showed them all the other Hello Kitty items I have and she loved it. Kawaii she kept saying. Definitely made my night as I understood. It was worth every yen. Thank you so much JoGeSaYu.

Paid for a reservation in the Tabelog app long before coming, but they did not have it. Hard to communicate, staff did not speak English. Dinner menu only on reservation. Very disappointed. Ended up trying different dishes, was underwhelmed.

Read moreThe food was good and tasty, but not outstanding. The portions are quite small, while the prices are relatively high. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re really hungry and looking for a filling meal. It’s more suitable if you’re looking for a slightly more fine-dining-style experience — although the atmosphere doesn’t quite match that concept.
The service was friendly and quick. I also tried the desserts, which were good as well. Overall, everything was tasty, but for the price, I would have expected slightly larger portions and a little more of everything.

While it is great that the place is all vegan and there is a reasonable choice of dishes, the food tasted somewhat bland and the portions are quite small for the price. Had the Katsu bowl, which lacked sauce. Unlike other restaurants, they also don't offer free water. Desserts were pretty good though.

Ordered a tan tan and tonkotsu ramen. They tasted similar, as if they were using a pre-made soup base. There wasn’t much spice or flavour, and the noodles had a smell of chemically tap water. The owners that started this restaurant are a big fried meat company that have meat restaurants around Japan, so not super happy about supporting them. However the chocolate cake was nice.

I gave 3 stars because the food was okay, it was flavourful but I’ve had much better in japan and less expensive. Service wasn’t great, they didn’t have anything from the menu available, portions are very small, I left still hungry..

Great spot in Hiroshima - Edit
The food was great and the staff so attentative. We had Ramen and Karaage and it was really delicious. Unfortunately we had to leave Hiroshima the next day, otherwise this would have become our go-to Dinner spot.

The food was soo delicious. We had the Tonkotsu-Style Ramen, Curry Udon and the Katsu Bowl. For dessert we chose chocolate taste and banana bread. I can recommend any of the above~

This place has a huge variety of Japanese food (tonkotsu, sushi, udon, ramen, etc.). The food tasted wonderful and was nicely arranged, and even convinced my non-vegan family. Highly recommendable for vegans visiting Hiroshima!!

Best ramen I had in Japan - Edit
I’ve been in Japan for almost two weeks and this was the best vegan ramen I had. The sushi that my partner had was beautiful. We also had a potato salad and the karaage. However, it was one of the more expensive meals we’ve had in Japan and the food came out slower than other places

Really fancy and appealing presented food, that also tastes really delicious. The restautant was almost totally empty when we visited at dinner time, so you won't need a reservation. Its also a little expensive, even more so for japanese citizens.
