Perfect little lunch spot

We have visited Goji Cafe for cake before but we decided to sit in and have lunch.

Lots of the options are vegan or can be made vegan. I got the soup of the day with the cauliflower wrap. Both of which were flavourful, warm and just what I needed. The combo slayed as well!
My partner got the butternut squash tart which came with super crispy potatoes and a beetroot sauce. All worked very well together.

Pros: Lots of options, Great vegan food

Lovely cafe

Popped in for lunch, had a 15 min wait or so for a table (nice to see in a veggie/vegan place)! Went for celeriac soup with a cauliflower wrap and my partner had the vegan hotdog. Both were really lovely. Too full for cake - although they looked amazing, as did the salads out front. Pretty expensive but not surprising for the centre of a tourist city.

Best meal I’ve had in York

So much choice, fresh ingredients and focus on wholefoods rather than processed meat/dairy alternatives.

I had a cashew, leek and pea tart with roast potatoes and broccoli. It was filling, creamy and flavoursome. I’ve eaten out around York all weekend and this meal was best by a mile. And when I told the staff member who served me, she beamed and seemed very appreciative. So glad I cam here.

Excellent find

Been wanting to visit here for years but never been able to for various reasons, I was visiting York today though and decided to get take out from somewhere near the Minster. I had the tofu banh mi and sweet potato wedges (I also took home a potato salad which I had at tea time and was lush!) - stunning. I can't wait to visit again!

Pros: Vegan options are good and varied, Banh mi

Delicious food, lovely vibe

Best afternoon tea I've had. The vegan quiche was a personal favourite. Really lovely sitting on in their garden area. Very convenient location for tourist bits.

Fabulous food

Ate here after watching the Tour de France Grand Depart in York - they had an excellent selection of vegan food, the Portobello burger with smoked tofu was succulent and tasty and highly recommended. The cakes looked fabulous, so I had to follow it with coffee and poppy seed cake.
Everyone was really friendly and the prices were reasonable, I'd love to go again, but alas it is over 150 miles away from where I live.

Highly recommended!

Lovely place

Veggie place with loads of vegan choices. Me & my partner visited here twice over our weekend trip. We tried the vegan mushroom burger, the tofu banh mi & the cashew tart with new potatoes. Also had some cake, of which they had a lot of choices. Really nice place, beautiful garden seating & friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely little backyard

Had lunch in the sun at Goiji. Choose the platter with hummus, falafel, salad etc. Was good but not special. Friendly atmosphere. The cakes looked great but I couldn’t eat more 🙃.

Delicious Healthy Food

Me and my husband dropped by here for lunch during the Jorvik festival and we’re not disappointed! We both had the tofu mushroom burger with the roasted sweet potato. It’s great they had a whole foods burger on the menu - portobello mushrooms she Pom was juicy and delicious and the almond pesto with greens was a lovely touch. Sweet potato perfectly cooked and creamy , way better than fries.
Place has a cosy old school veggie cafe style, round the corner from York Minster. Highly recommend coming here!

Pros: Great food and varied menu, Staff were super friendly and service efficient , Reasonable prices

Cons: Can fill up quickly due to limited seating and pop

Cashew Tart

My lunch here was delicious. I’ll be getting the cashew and butternut squash again! It’s served with two salads of your choice - I went with a butter bean and carrot and tabouleh. I’ll return!

Delicious

One of the few pure veg places in the city and we were more than happy with our food.

We had limited time and the food was delivered quickly and both of our choices were pretty delicious! The wine was tasty as well.

Compliments to the chef. 👏

Nice lunch spot

Vegetarian but most of the options are vegan. All the cakes were vegan when I went. It's quite pricey for the portion sizes but I think that's common in York. The staff are friendly and informative. I went when I was ill so couldn't taste the food properly but it seemed nice! The actual place is a little worn out looking but overall I had a pleasant experience and would go again.

Absolutely sensational

Had the cashew cream quiche (comes with with two salads) and a side of sweet potato wedges which in honesty was probably unnecessary because it was only a lunch and the quiche and salad was both filling and unspeakably delicious. The pastry was great but the quiche was like... melt in the mouth but so well flavoured and hearty.

The salad is also really well flavoured, seems like basically any vegetable they touch turns to gold.

Honestly I could not recommend this more highly, will definitely be coming back.

Didn't take photos because I wolfed it, unfortunately. But it was also nicely presented.

They also gave a lot of dessert options but I only came for lunch. Will report back...

Pros: Excellent use of flavours and textures in salads, Quiche absolutely sensational honestly, Good portions

Lovely cafe

Lovely little cafe and we enjoyed our lunch here very much. Lots to choose from. I had the flatbread from the daily specials and my partner had the Greek platter - both very much enjoyed. The staff were lovely and helpful.

Pros: The food, The staff

Cons: The stairs up to the toilets
