Very vegan friendly - Edit
We had a lovely experience. The concept is simple: you eat the food you can see grown around you in the greenhouse.
Read moreThe dishes are simple and pure in their preparation. For (southern) Europeans who have easy acces to (flavourful) tomatoes, the food might possibly not be exceptional, but to dismiss this as a tourist trap, is to ignore the effort it takes to grow tomatoes year round, in freaking Iceland!
With your meal you get unlimited bread, as well as a cucumber salsa, butter and skyr as a topping. Not mentioned on the menu but they have a plant based alternative to skyr and butter, and gluten free bread, at no additional cost!Included in the meal is also coffee, tea and water.
It’s known for its unlimited tomato soup. We didn’t order it but we asked to try it and got a little cup to taste that we shared. Nice touch!
We ended our meal with a walk through and around the greenhouse!
Overall an unforgettable experience! Great food, unique location and excellent service, shoutout to Sonja! All of this for a very reasonable price. For me definitely a highlight around the Golden Circle area.
Pros: Multiple options, Plant based skyr and butter available
Cons: No plant protein (except bread and seeds on salad)

Tomato themed restaurant located inside greenhouse - Edit
The all you can eat tomato soup is vegan. Food is delicious but what really makes the experience is the location inside a beautiful a greenhouse. We went twice in our 6 months in Iceland. Can be busy and often you need a reservation. If you didn't manage to reserve a table, they do have a small Winebar and Bistro next door, also with lots of plants inside and light meals and there you don't need a reservation.

Dining in a greenhouse, amazing! - Edit
I absolutely loved this place. We dined at the Bistro and it is a very well decorated greenhouse. We had the antipasti, the bruscetta and the tomato basil soup (all the vegan options on the menu). The soup was incredible. You haven't tasted real tomato like this before. The basil oil was the cherry on top. The vegan dessert were strawberry's in prosecco or champagne. Bit to fancy (and expensive). They wete tasty, but not that special.

Unique and beautiful dining - Edit
This is a tomato greenhouse with a restaurant and bar included. The do offer dairy and seafood dishes. I had their signature dish, tomato soup and the salad and both are designated vegan on the menu and I also double checked with the waiter. The soup comes with bread, and some varieties of bread are topped with cheese. The soup was flavorful and delicious, as was the fresh crispy green salad. Basil plants are on each table with scissors, to cut fresh for your meal.

Great place - Edit
I really liked this place. Its restaurant in greenhouse. You can take as many refills of tomato soup and bread as you want. Coffee ( also oat milk) and tea is also for free on bar (from termos). I ate also vegan pizza. I wanted to eat some dessert but i was too full. Nice food, nice Staff and tomatoes are really so good!

SUCH AN EXPERIENCE!!! - Edit
This was not only a wonderful meal but a total experience!
Read moreWe arrived early to our reservation because we wanted to have time to walk around. We stopped at the wine bar and bistro first to have a drink. I ordered a Strawberry Gimlet, without the egg and it was so refreshing.
For our reservation we went over to the restaurant. Incredibly cool to eat inside the greenhouses that grew the tomatoes that we were eating! The menu for sure is tomato focused and they are used in some very creative ways!
First we had a Friðheimar salad. The toppings that already were on it were great but we did add a veggie skewer. The veggies had no seasoning on them whatsoever but they were wonderful! So fresh and naturally flavorful. The carrots in particular were my favorite!
I can’t even tell you how many bowls of soup I had. Three? Four? There are multiple bar stations set up with soup tureens and massive piles of fresh baked bread that you could refill as many times as you wanted.
For dessert we ordered the Froðheimar sorbet. Three different varieties of tomato sorbet! We originally ordered this for the experience. Because when will we be back to a tomato farm and get to eat tomato sorbet? It was so surprisingly good! Definitely suggest it.
Pros: Very creative uses of tomatoes, Incredible atmosphere, Very unique experience

Fresh tomato everything! - Edit
The tomato soup was vegan and divine. Had tomato juice- also delicious. You can sit in the greenhouse surrounded by vines but if the wait is too long, go to the bistro! Also adorable vine and same delicious tomatoes!

Excellent soup - Edit
The menu in general is very small, but they did ensure vegans have several options which was nice. Everything was incredibly fresh. The soup was all you can eat. The menu says the bread is vegan, but it looked like some of them have cheese. I didn’t ask for clarification. I just didn’t eat the ones that looked like they had cheese. You can sit outside or within the greenhouse. Everything has tomatoes, so don’t come here if you hate tomatoes 😂

Good & quick lunch - Edit
The soup was great! Sadly we couldn't get a table, so we had to eat at the bar, which was also nice (but making a reservation is a good idea if you go with more than three people, and/or want access to the full menu). Unfortunately, no vegan options are marked on the bar menus, and the staff working there are unaware of vegan options at all (two friendly bar tenders stated none of the bread, beer, and desserts are vegan, with "maybe" the exception of the sorbet). This made us apprehensive about eating anything besides the soup.
