Exciting Vegan Options and Nice Vibe

Flat White Kitchen is a really good option for brunch in Durham, with a few vegan options including seasonal vegan pancakes, vegan breakfast bowl, and avocado on toast. The vegan breakfast bowl offers scrambled tofu, hummus, tomatoes, sourdough, beans, and sautéed kale (showing a little more effort than a cooked tomato, some mushrooms, and a vegan sausage, which is nice). But, with my sweet tooth I'm more drawn to the vegan pancakes they offer. I have tried the vegan rhubarb crumble pancakes which were yummy, with thick pancakes and a sweet and almost tangy taste from the rhubarb compote.
During my most recent visit I tried the vegan poached pear, walnut crumble, and custard pancakes which were really nice, with a sharp, unique flavour from the poached pear, and a good amount of custard.
I believe they have also done vegan matcha pancakes before, I didn't try them but I'm sure they were great.
They also do good drinks, I usually go for the vegan chai latte with soya milk which is really nice (good balance between floral-ness and sweetness). My dad got raspberry and rhubarb matcha with oat milk (I'm not sure I like matcha so it wasn't my cup of tea personally, but my dad liked it).
The vibes are also really nice, with lots of plants dotted around and cool fish-shaped bottles of water on each table, and the staff are always friendly. Definitely worth a visit for filling portions and exciting flavours.

Pros: Friendly Staff, Unique Vegan Options, Nice Aesthetic Interior with lots of Plants

Cons: Could be More Vegan Options

Tasty coffee

This beautiful cafe is in the heart of Durham. The coffee was delicious, one of the best in Durham. They also have some vegan options which are nice. Discretionary Service Charge is included in the bill, you must ask to remove it if you don't want to pay for it.

Best Coffee in Durham!

Flat White is a staple for any foodie / coffee lover coming to Durham ! Literally the best coffee and hot drinks - I always take my sister and mum here when she comes because she is such a fussy eater 😭😭 AND they do the best vegan breakfast bowel and matcha pancakes - I swapped the blueberries for candid pecans and it was yum! Just lacks a bit of variety in the cake selection usually it’s just a date oat bar available - more vegan cakes please! 🙏 No bookings just a long queue on busy weekdays/weekends (but so worth it!)

Pros: Coffee (premium roast gorgeous latte art), Vegan brunch options , Cute artisan vibes

Cons: Lack of variety in vegan cakes , Charges for alternative milk 😢

Brunch!

There isn't loads of vegan options but the ones present are decent. I had these lovely matcha pancakes which were delicious and kept me full ALL DAY. Everyone deserves pancakes. Especially me.
