I don't think they understand the concept of vegan - Edit
They accidentally served me a mear moussaka instead of the vegetarian one. I only realised after I had started eating :-(
Read moreMy wife, who is 100% vegan, enjoyed her meal but started complaining of a headache halfway through the meal; she has a dairy allergy and anything that is milk based will result in a migraine. Her meal was listed as vegan but later inspection of the menu states that rice contains butter. How can that be a thing when the item was on the vegan menu!
As good as the food and service was, I'd have to advise against eating here.
Pros: Tasty food, Nice staff
Cons: Not vegan!

Can’t believe this wasn’t already on Happy Cow! - Edit
I was in Durham for the evening and I was worried I wasn’t going to be able to find anything. So many of the places listed in Happy Cow had already closed and one of the places open was out of many of the vegan ingredients. It ended up working in my favor because I found Turkish Kitchen!
Read moreI ordered the Falafel Main for takeaway and was so happy! Everything was packaged perfectly. I had a big container with lots of delicious hummus in the bottom with four large (and tasty!) falafel balls on top. I had another container with with a small salad and two cups of sauce. The red sauce was too spicy for me tonight but I loved the tzatziki sauce. I couldn’t believe that the bread was gf and vegan. It was SO good!!
The staff were nice and had VERY fast service. I couldn’t believe that my meal was ready, hot, and fresh in five minutes. Hopefully more Vegans will find them and enjoy their food as much as I did.
Pros: Fast service , Multiple vegan options

Thanks so much for this recommendation. We arrived in Durham this evening for a short stay and had no idea where to eat as we’ve never been before. We read your review and booked a table at Turkish kitchen. We were not disappointed, we had a fabulous meal and the service was excellent. Thank you for spending the time to post your review.
