Fun and Flavourful Vegan Burgers - Edit
There's a clearly labelled vegan burgers section on the menu which I think is always a good start. There are four options: Five Lives (single plant based patty, vegan cheese, pickles, ketchup, American mustard and Cajun onion strings), Harlem Fake (southern fried plant based chicken, vegan cheese, pink onions, sriracha mayo, lettuce and purple slaw), Notorious VFC 2.0 (southern fried plant based chicken, Cajun tater tots, vegan cheese, lettuce, pickles, BBQ sauce + zinger mayo), and Sloppy Faux (single plant based patty, vegan cheese, sloppy faux sauce, BBQ, Chipotle mayo and pickleback slaw).

Me and my family were pleasantly surprised to see vegan dessert options too. We tried the vegan Baby Spice (little jar filled with layers of biscoff and ice cream) which was very yummy.
The vibes are cool and laidback, and I very much enjoyed my visit with the family. I shall be back.

I was disappointed with my order from Fat Hippo. I had walked by earlier and saw the vegan dirty fries on the menu outside. When I needed a snack later I knew that’s what I wanted!
Read moreOne of my biggest pet peeves is when sauces or toppings aren’t layered throughout, like nachos for example. No one wants just plain tortilla chips or fries at the bottom.
For the size of waffle fries that I had, I felt like it was not expecting too much to have sauce and fakin bits layered to the bottom. The flavor was fine but I wasn’t wowed.

We go to this fat hippo (and order takeout) often. There are usually a choice of at least 3 vegan burgers, plus a special whenever they have limited burgers on. They are always absolutely delicious. They also have loaded fries and tater tots which I highly recommend. Great place for dirty burgers!

Went because we were excited about the vegan options, but service was incredibly slow (1 hour between starters and mains with constant assurances of "it's on the pass right now"). The food was okay, but all quite oily and soggy, so not worth the wait in the end

Really disappointed this time Iv been in the past and enjoyed it but wouldn’t recommend taking away like we did. The waffle fries that came were just little pieces of crunchy shrapnel, the chips with the kids meal were really cold, the frickles were really soggy pickles the batter just fell off, and the Oprah sin free burger came flat with one piece of cheese and no onion rings on it as described. I actually felt so dissatisfied this time for so many things to go that wrong.

I had the Bloody Harrelson. It looked a little sad but tasted good. It was quite sweet with ketchup and smokey mayo. Fries were just like fries should be.
Price is reasonable at 11.90 for burger and (regular) fries.
All in all good, but not spectacular.

Eat here a lot, both as a family and with colleagues. Had a few instances where items have been missing from order so recommend you check your bag before walking away. Lots of vegan burger options, starters and sides. Would like to see a spicy vegan option at some point but otherwise not complaining!

Great to have vegan options and I would go again but I’m not rushing back! Could be just what I tried but it was average, very nice but could have made similar food at home. I will deffo try more on the menu and it is still nice!

Fat hippo is brilliant. I’ve taken non vegans there who say the same thing. Lots of choices for us vegans. The only thing I miss about meat, (haven’t eaten any in like 5 years) is gross meat like burgers and hot dogs and general pigging out, but fat hippo allows this and so I rate it.

I have been here twice. The first time, I had the notorious VFC and the second the Shroom Raider. Based on the VFC I would have awarded 5 stars as it was delicious! How the burger had been put together and the sauces used were perfect. The shroom burger was good but I wouldn’t order it again.
