Super lekkere kibbeling! - Edit
Goede snackbar met een vriendelijke eigenaar. Vooral de kibbeling is een aanrader! Maar eigenlijk is alles lekker ;P Je kan er zowel vegetarisch als veganistisch eten.

The restaurant offers nearly every fast food dish, which you can eat in the Netherlands as omnivore food. The prices are cheap. We can recommend especially the vegan shrimps with garlic dip. Delicious!

In my vegan life (and even before?), I never had so much choice in high quality fastfood. We thoroughly enjoyed our snacks and the homemade fries were deliciously crispy. We’ll be back soon to try some other options.

One thing that my girlfriend and I often miss about vegan/vegetarian places is less pretentious, wannabe 'ultra healthy' places. Snackbars are a very nice Dutch and Belgian tradition. We miss that normally can't have the standard menu of fries+mayonaise+a snack, because normally there are no vegan options for the last two. Well, this place has it! We wanted to catch the train and weren't really hungry, but when we saw the name of this place we had to have a look. We said to each other that we'll leave in case there are no vegan snacks... The opposite was the case!! Rather too much vegan choice for that moment as we weren't hungry at all! :-). We ordered a few snacks and a "patatje oorlog". We couldn't finish it but took it home in a doggy bag and heated it in the oven the next day, still delicious!

Your typical Dutch snackbar but with veggie options! I can highly recommend the "bitterballen" and the shrimps. Staff is friendly, it's not too expensive and an ideal place if you're graving the typically Dutch snacks in a vegan version.

If you want a great vegan burger, this is the place to go in the Hague. The one I wanted had run out, but the second choice wasn't a letdown. Recommended. Not sure it's as healthy as it claims to be, but what's a single meal?

Went there since it was close to the station and had a good salad with vegetables. First time trying vegan mayo and it was nice. Can't say much of the menu since I had just a simple meal with nothing extraordinary. The staff were kind and helpful when asked questions about the menu

Probably one of the only places you can get all the different kinds of Dutch fried junk food in one place. Quality of food is really good; my faves so far are the kibbuhling and sate - great texture and flavour. A friend said that the berenklauw tastes like the real thing! Love the atmosphere - very snackbar-y with no frills which is perfect! Reasonably priced as well.

There are way too many options, but nevertheless I think it's hard to make a bad choice. I tried the vegan chicken burger, which was really tasty. I particularly liked the mayonnaise as well. Would definitely return & recommend!

Read moreNote to non-Dutchies: a 'snackbar' is a typical Dutch fast-food 'restaurant' where there is not much ambiance where it smells like deep-fried food. Don't expect a fancy seat ;-)

I really like the place, the food is delicious and the prices are good. I love the frikandel and shoarma. Nevertheless the decoration hasn’t been taken care of, everything seems oily and dirty. Even more if you compare it with most of the vegan/vegetarian establishments that always look so cute and welcoming. Because of that, I always choose other restaurants when eating with non-vegans or family. I’ve always been nicely welcome buy the staff but the owner/distant seems always distant. Even if being correct, smiling wouldn’t hurt! I hope they take the remarks on account and make some improvements so I can come to have lunch more often and show the place to more people :)

De Vegetarische Snackbar offers good quality fast food at reasonable prices. At the end of September, when I was there, they were in the middle of a renewal of the menu (no more pizzas, for instance!), and I had the burger menu (burger + salad + french fries + drink) for about 13 euros. I got out of there pretty full!

I had the pineapple burger and chips with curry sauce. I think the curry sauce might have had pineapple in too because it was soooo good.
They take card and cash and give a student discount which is always worth knowing.
With the all burgers (and perhaps the sausages too?) you have the option of vegetarian or vegan. I went for the vegan one because if the option is there then that just makes sense doesn't it?
I left absolutely stuffed full and very happy.
Pros: Tasty, Fast, Lots of choice
Cons: You might get fat because you have to go back :P

Read moreIn the meantime I've been there a few times already. A lot of my non-vegan friends and co-workers always talk about how vegans eat so healthy. Well, now I can tell them I can eat fat fastfood just like them, hahaha.
I was really surprised how many of their options are vegan. A lot of meat substitutes sold in the Netherlands contain egg or milk, but De Vegetarische Snackbar tried to find some great ones that don't. They have fries, burgers, deep-fried snacks, sandwiches, icecream, cupcakes, organic lemonades and much more. Most of it vegan.
Yeah this is not a place you go to eat some super healthy food. It's amazing for what it is though, and reminds me a bit of some of the great places you can find in Berlin. They will be seeing me a lot here :) Very friendly owner and staff too.
Update: I had them deliver something, it took them one and a half hour, the food was cold and soaked in beetroot juice... And you pay a 2.50 delivery charge for that plus a premium of about 25% on all food? No thank you.
