Good freshly prepared food in a bustling spot at Goodrington Beach - Edit
A fantastic spot for food or drinks near the sea with a bustling atmosphere. Sometimes they have live music on.
Read moreThey serve freshly prepared, beautifully presented delicious food, cakes, drinks alcoholic and coffees and soft drinks. You can see directly into the kitchen and watch food being prepared.
They don’t do as many vegan options as they used to (I wish they’d bring back the aubergine fish fingers from years ago!) but there are still some options and they do vegan cheese so can swap some stuff out. There is a vegan breakfast (9.30-11.45am), vegan sausage brioche, plant burger, cauliflower bowl, tomato and mozzarella pizza, florentine pizza with vegan cheese and no egg. (20p from all pizzas goes to the Wave project, and they’re super fresh yummy pizzas!!)
You can sit in, or out in the sunshine or under cover in a marquee area. It’s dog friendly. There are 2 baskets, blankets for humans and blankets for dogs.
Loses a star for the customer service being inconsistent - some staff fantastic but occasionally can be rude.
It is child friendly - there are some colouring supplies and high chairs (kept over by the toilets). There is a baby changing station in the accessible toilet.
Wheelchair accessibility: Some of the place is on the level. You can order via QR code or the bar to order from is on the level right by the main entrance.
For summer there is currently a sauna hut in the garden.
Pros: Freshly prepared good food , Great location - Youngs Park, Goodrington Beach, Regular live music
Cons: Some rude staff members , Less vegan options than there used to be

Really tasty - Edit
I had the pesto pizza, which was so nice. Well cooked, thin base and fresh flavours that I personally had never had on a pizza before but loved. Not greasy in the slightest and I felt comfortably full after. Really nice atmosphere aswell with it being dog friendly and family run. My boyfriend, a meat eater, also enjoyed his meaty pizza of choice.

Cons: No vegan fresh cake options that day

simply exquisite - Edit
We came here after searching for a vegan place in Devon which is often a hard find! This food was honestly amazing. The best vegan food I have eaten. It was green and full of flavour with homemade pesto and garlic based pizzas! There was lots of space and outside tables in a quiet location with dogs allowed. I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone who needs a break from the sun and some delicious vegan food 💚

Good location, vegan options, dog-friendly - Edit
Between Young's Park and Goodrington Beach, Cantina has a good location for visitors. They are at the end of the beach that's open to dogs all-year-round and dogs are welcome.
Read moreNicely decorated with a relaxed atmosphere and clean unisex loos.
The staff were friendly and seemed happy to help despite the cafe being busy.
There are several vegan options including a breakfast, vegan cheese for pizzas, burgers, and carrot cake.
The ice cream hut that's part of the cafe had a couple of choices of vegan ice cream.
Plant milk available for drinks too.
Pros: Dog-friendly, Near the beach and the park

Came to have breakfast and they just had porridge 😭 they don’t serve anything else until midday and even then there are around 3 options.

Popular cafe close to the beach - Edit
There are vegan options on the main menu including (when we visited) 'fish' and chips and pizza and other dishes can be adapted. Vegan ice cream too. The vegan 'fish' and chips was tasty, and the portion size generous. Good value at £7. Smaller light bite/children’s portions available.
Read moreI like their focus on local products. The Luscombe lemonade (made in Devon) was very good.
Despite being busy service was friendly and efficient. There are sofas to sit and enjoy coffee as well as tables. Board games and magazines (including a vegan one when I visited) .
Hours vary seasonally so check.
Pros: Close to beach, Good vegan options, Good value
Cons: Not all veg*an, Busy

Monthly vegan night - Edit
We went to the monthly vegan night this Thursday. This month was a barbecue with an amazing selection of freshly prepared salads and hot dishes, including chick pea burgers, tofu kebabs, quinoa, cous cous and a varied array of fresh and griddle vegetables, along with some delicious dips and salad dressings.
Read moreIt was good value with a set price (£15) for unlimited food, the place was incredibly busy with many full tables inside and out.
The service is welcoming and the setting is idyllic, in the middle of a park, next to Goodrington Beach. All are made to feel welcome, including dogs and children.
We eat here a lot, as although they serve meat, there are always vegan options. All the food is freshly cooked, so they can always make something. They also do regular music events, which are always well attended. We have no vegetarian or vegan restaurants in Torbay, so we have to settle for veg options. This was truly the best, most inventive vegan food I have eaten in a restaurant in the south west of England (to date).
We will probably see you there.
Pros: Monthly vegan nights , Freshly cooked food, always vegan options , Really friendly, helpful staff
Cons: It gets very busy, so sometimes it is fully booked, The vegan barbecue night started at 7pm, they ran
