Another very good rice bowl - Edit
Whew - I have had lots of rice bowls in Portland.
Read moreI am systematically working my way through NE Portland's vegan eateries and Blossoming Lotus was my lunch destination yesterday.
I asked the server what the most popular gluten-free item was on the menu and they told me that it was the Bibimbap. So that is what I ordered.
There was a very good selection of items in the bowl - soy curls, broccoli, brown rice, marinated button mushrooms, pickled carrots and daikon radish, and a few other items.
It was tasty.
They marinated and sauced the soy curls VERY well. They had some good bold flavour.
It was a good filling meal.
The bowl was 18$ which is on the very top end for a meal for me.
The service was good.
Pros: Filling and tasty
Cons: A tad on the expensive side for me

So Nice - Edit
This restaurant was recommended to me on a trip to Portland. It didn’t disappoint. It offers a full sit-down dining experience with a complete menu and fun creative alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. We went in the evening and it had a nice dinner ambiance. Though I like to try new restaurants, when I return to Portland, I plan on not missing Blossoming Lotus. I want to explore their innovative menu more.

Bliss at the Lotus - Edit
I ordered the Classic Breakfast, which includes tofu scramble, fennel sausage, roasted potatoes, and a biscuit and jam. The jam was too sweet for my liking, but the biscuit was . The meal was so filling that I skipped lunch.
Read moreTip: Smoosh the sausage, and then mix it with the tofu and potatoes for a super scramble!
Warning: There was only one server, so everything (seating, ordering, paying) took longer.
Pros: all vegan, big portions, outdoor seating

Great Breakfast - Edit
We tried the vegan Benedict and biscuits & gravy. Benedict was the best I’ve had. Biscuits and gravy were with veggie gravy which was unique and not something I was expecting. The coffee was really great too.

We love a good 100% plant based restaurant. We came here with two non-vegans and we were all very satisfied. The green adobo potato tacos were well balanced and the Thai wrap had a tasty peanut sauce. Also snacked on the raw nachos that were oddly addicting.

100% plant based. Presentation was beautiful. Everything from the live nachos to Yakisoba Noodles were delicious. You can’t go wrong with anything. The deserts were amazing. The handcrafted cocktails used fresh ingredients and were just perfect.

One of the best vegan dinners in Portland! - Edit
The food was absolute incredible. My partner and I had the raw nachos as a starter. We also shared a Cheeseburger and their BBQ bowl. The staff was also incredibly friendly and all around, it turned out to be a great dining experience. Most definitely recommend.

Great environment, great food, and really healthy compared to the usual oil drenched foods of Portland. Been here for dinner and brunch, both times the service and food were spectacular. The raw nachos are definitely worth trying, couldn't have imagined that would be as yummy as it was!

A great dinner. - Edit
After a snowy drive from Seattle, we settled in our hotel and perused the many vegan options in the city. Settled on Blossoming Lotus and so glad we did! Had one of the non-alcoholic specialty drinks, the dinner salad with lemon tahini, the udon noodle bowl, and the barbecue bowl. Everything was stellar. It’s also a lovely setting. Will definitely come back! #Veganuary

Great addition to our Portland trip - Edit
This was our best dinner in Portland! I found a local porter beer here that I loved that I looked for everywhere. For a starter, we ordered the fingerling potatoes. The ranch dipping sauce was some of the best I've had. The BiBimBap bowl was full of flavor, although a bit spicier than I had thought it would be. The fettucine noodles with maitake and oyster mushrooms were better than expected. For dessert the berry cheesecake was light and refreshing.
