Wonderful food - Edit

My daughter and I went to the Blossoming Lotus and had a wonderful evening and meal. The Mock-tails were creative and tasty. We tried all of the appetizers and sampled many of the desserts. They were all tasty. We had a great time.

Pros: Friendly staff, All of the food items were "safe" for me to eat.

impress your nonvegan pals!! - Edit

I went once with family and then the next week for my birthday with friends! Great cocktails, impressive menu with a wide range of dishes. I was the only vegan in a group of 8 for my birthday, and everyone loved their good, especially the bibimbap and the cheeseburgers. The special blood orange margarita was also a big hit. On weekends, expect a wait.

this place turned me vegan - Edit

No kidding. This is the restaurant that inspired me to go vegan. I've been vegan since July 2016 and am absolutely loving it. The delicious green bowl here convinced me how tasty and refreshing healthy food can be. Their creativity with their menu and the heart that goes into their food has made me see and feel food in a whole new way! I neeeeever thought I'd ever be a vegan but now I can't imagine going back. Thanks Blossoming Lotus! Love!!!!!

open, airy and delicious! - Edit

Loved this place! The food was great and the atmosphere was classy with high ceilings mostly bistro tables. I had the squash tacos, DH had the Thai wrap. Followed by the chocolate triffle (really rich!) and an apple turnover. Everything was great and recommendable.

Delicious dining - Edit

Enjoyable, delicious dining experience at Portland's Blossoming Lotus.
Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable service, even on a very busy Saturday evening. Casual, laid back atmosphere, cool venue, off of a busy avenue in a semi-residential area. Plentiful on street parking outside, and nearby.
Awesome food. Non vegan dining companion impressed by the cheeseburger and potato wedge fries. Soup of the day was a bit spicy for her; eggplant, carrots, zucchini in a rich cilantro infused broth, so I finished it with a moist corn muffin to soak up all of the broth.
Shared a tasty side of creamy Mac & cheese with my toddler grandson, who gave it the kid approval rating by devouring it along with fingerling potatoes.
Was craving greens, so I ordered the Lotus salad, spinach, kale, carrots, cucumbers, ginger-pickled beets, cherry tomatoes, garlic mustard sunflower seeds, in a maple Dijon vinaigrette with coconut bacon. So good.
Ample portions, affordable prices, good dining vibes enhanced by sweet soul music... Will return next time in Portland.

Pros: Excellent food, ample portions, Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable staff, Casual, laid back atmosphere

Cons: Expect wait time for seating, medium sized venue

Delicious brunch and friendly staff - Edit

Came for brunch on a Sunday around 11:45am. Had the buttermilk pancakes with fruit compote coconut whip cream and they were kind enough to assist with a side of sausage made from lentils (need my protein). And I had the herbal tea. Everything was so good. The pancakes melts in my mouth, and the marionberry compote was so creamy but not overly sweet. And the coconut whipped cream was light and tasty and again not overly sweet. The sausage was ok. More like a bean burger than a sausage but it did taste good.

I'd come back here for sure! In fact I might come back tomorrow for lunch.

The staff was so friendly and accommodating. They let me taste the compote before I decided on ordering yr pancakes! It took a while to get my food, but not really that long. I think because they actually take their time and make things fresh and well and well worth the 15 minute wait!! (Which isn't really that long but I was super hungry!!)

Pros: Food, Service

Delicious Vegan Cuisine - Edit

Very Fine Vegan Cuisine in a pleasant environment with friendly staff. There is no finer restaurant! You would choose to eat here even if you aren't vegan! The pasta was incredible tonight, the starters were raw and amazing, the drinks were pleasant and the dessert was fantastic!

Pros: Delicious Food, Friendly Staff, Pleasant Environment

Delightful and Tasty! - Edit

This is a terrific little cafe with a bar and terrific food. Service is friendly and informative, e.g. letting you know what's to-do (burrito) vs. faves like the big cheeseburger and filling/flavorful tacos. The cheese platter as a starter was fun and delicious. I had soft serve ice cream for dessert, what a great!

Pros: Flavorful food, food ambience. bar

Cons: Wish there were even more to choose from!

Magnificent Brunch - Edit

We have been meaning to go here forever and finally made it happen today. We will be regulars. The food was all outstanding and the service was wonderful. You can't miss the cinnamon roll. It is also the first vegan restaurant we've found in Portland with great coffee.

Pros: Service, Quality, Selection

Cons: Small so there can be a wait

My Favorite - Edit

I have visited here several times on trips to Portland. So if I'm lucky I get in here about twice a year. If possible I will actually plan a trip to Portland with a planned stop here in mind. I have tried many items on the menu and it never disappoints. I love the salads, the tacos, the pesto, the desserts, the smoothies. This is the only restaurant where I will purposely order more than I can eat (or afford) so I can take something with me.

Pros: Delicious and elegant, Friendly staff, Beautiful presentation of food

Our Favorite Spot - Edit

Blossoming Lotus has got to be hands down our favorite vegan restaurant anywhere. It took us a little while to find this gem, but once we did we ate here quite often. Portland has a lot of great vegan options, but this is the best. Some of my favorites are the french toast and cinnamon rolls for brunch. Their Pear and Brie is AMAZING!!! The cashew brie is to die for. Love their cheese plate too. Can't say anything bad about this place, just wish there was one in every city we visit. Will be back when we are in town again.

Pros: Brunch, Cheeses are awesome!

Consistently good - Edit

My partner and I go to Blossoming Lotus far too much. I highly recommend going for all their offered meals. Staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is delicious. Also, if you like desserts, get the cake they're serving that day. I've had about six different flavors and they're amazing. Highly highly recommend this place.

Pros: cake

Cons: parking (not a huge deal)

Friendly Service Fulfilling Food - Edit

Located in a quiet trendy neighborhood North East off of I5 just outside of downtown Portland, the Blossoming Lotus serves organic, freshly made, vegan cuisine with cooked and raw food options. Open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. They also offer gluten-free and soy free options.

The restaurant is trendy and cozy at the same time, with tables to seat 2-4. Service is quick and super friendly. The entrees were beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked.

The dinner menu offers appetizers, salads, soup of the day and a great selection of entrees.

I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a great vegan place to eat in Portland.

Pros: Great food, Friendly service, Street parking

Wonderful vegan food - Edit

I had the Pear & Brie sandwich, which was delicious! The "brie" was actually made from cashews, and tasted a lot like brie. The atmosphere was relatively quiet. The staff friendly.

Pros: Really good vegan food. Not loud. Friendly.

Cons: A little pricey, but worth the price.

Disappointing, except for the cake - Edit

We read all the reviews and were excited to try this restaurant. We were there after 1:00, with one other occupied table. We ordered the Breakfast Burrito and the BBQ bowl. The wait for the food was a little longer than was acceptable. Once the food arrived, it was not hot and I sent mine back. The mac and cheese in my BBQ bowl looked like the mac and cheese I ate out of a box as a child. The cornbread was good. It took entirely too long to replace the BBQ soy curls and by that time they arrived, everything else was cold. The server did discount the meal, but it was a total disappointment. My spouses' burrito was not hot either, but she was too hungry to send it back.

The one saving grace of this meal, was the Chocolate Grasshopper Cake. It was to die for. It didn't make up for the disaster that was lunch, but it gave us one enjoyable experience at the Blossoming Lotus.

Pros: Grasshopper Cake, Portion size

Cons: Food not proper tempature, Slow to get order, Mac and Chesse out of a box
