This small place proves that big is not best - Edit
The menu and restaurant itself are small, but the food is fantastic. Worth searching out, but you might need to make a reservation

Best falafel I have ever had - Edit
This cosy vegetarian restaurant with an amazing chef who cooks everything by herself. I had a lot of falafel in my life but blooming Cactus has the best ones so far. The humus and Tzatziki are also a blast. Wish I could have had the time to eat all the options on the menu since the musaka and the curry were outstanding. I will be back the next time I'm in Lanzarote for sure a big recommendation

Cute vegetarian restaurant - Edit
Had the satay veg curry. It was really tasty! Definitely get this.
Read moreMy partner had the chilli which was okay - very spicy and the mince used was not great. It looked like a huge blob of mess with kidney beans.
The chocolate dessert was nice.
Huge respect to the owner who was on her own, hosting, waitering, and cooking for multiple tables. We expected a much longer wait, but it was all fine and couldn’t fault the service.
Pros: Chocolate dessert was nice, Lovely host, Large portions
Cons: Limited vegan options, Presentation of food

Amazing veg find in Lanzerote - Edit
Blooming cactus was a godsend as many other restaurants in Puerto Del Carmen and further afield were closed down. The restaurant is so quaint and cosy. The staff was so friendly and sweet, it made the whole experience that much nicer. We went two days in a row, getting the chilli sin carne, veggie burger, and vegetable satay. We got chocolate tart for dessert both days which was insanely tasty. The food was very good and clearly labelled vegan or gluten free when applicable. 10/10 would recommend.

Lovely atmosphere, food & host - Edit
Blooming Cactus is a charming restaurant on a quiet street. The decoration and lighting immeditately made us feel welcome and at home. Tracey is wonderful. The food is packed full of flavour. We had falafel, red salad, chilli sin carne, vegetable satay and our non vegan friends had Moussaka (has cheese). Very rich vegan chocolate cake! Our only regret is that we didn't have time to come back a second time.

Tasty, home made vegan food - Edit
Most of the dishes are vegan or can be veganized (eg the incredibly friendly staff made a moussaka with vegan cheese especially for us). We tried almost everything on the menu over the course of the week and enjoyed it all. The restaurant is lovely, great music, armosphere, staff and food. Take away food is cheaper than eating in.

The Best Vegetarian & Vegan Restaurant on the Island - Edit
This is essentially a lovely vegetarian restaurant with excellent and unusual vegan options. We had for starters the Falafel and the Rosti, followed by the Moussaka and Vegetable Satay for mains, and for dessert the day’s special, the Chocolate with lime tart/cake. All tasted delicious, and really unusual. Excellent service too. Good pricing and a nice ambiance.

Leckeres Essen - Edit
Vegetarisches Restaurant mit veganen Gerichten. Es ist in der Karte zu erkennen, was vegan, was vegetarisch und was ohne Gluten ist. Ich hatte das Gemüse Curry- sehr lecker. Leider eine kleine Portion. Dazu super frisches Pita Brot! Die vegane Schoko Torte mit Limettensoße war himmlisch. Danach war ich auch sehr satt.

Poor quality food, wouldn't recommend it - Edit
At first sight it's a small and cozy restaurant. I really had lots of expectations, but I was really really Disappointed by the food there. We ordered Greek potatoes, falafel, pita bread and an Indian dish (I can't recall it's name). Nothing tasted like it was supposed to taste. The potatoes tasted kinda plastic and old, very old, worst I've ever eaten, not Greek at all. The "falafel" weren't even close enough to be called "falafel", and they weren't even that tasty as an alternative to the original dish. So if you are craving falafels, you will be highly dissatisfied. The pita bread plain plastic, nothing to the original one. As for the Indian dish, I couldn't eat it, as I wanted to spit each of my bites. Wouldn't recommend, it was a very bad food experience, and it is not that cheap, compared to other restaurants we visited in Lanzarote. I would have rated 1 star if I could.

Cosy place and good food - Edit
Very cosy place in Puerto del Carmen, the waitress gave us a warm welcome and we sat in a nice corner with pictures hanging on the wall. We started with some nice hummus and warm pita, and then we went for a hot spicy vegetable curry and a delicious soy and bean chili with roast potatoes. We also tried their vegan chocolate tart, a whopping cheesecake-like slice of dark chocolate cake. Everything was delicious and fair priced. Highly recommended!

Really Tasty! - Edit
This was a great little find! The food was so tasty and packed full of flavour! A quaint little restaurant with a family feel to it. We had the satay and rice. Portions sizes were generous - one satay and rice between two would have been perfect. I also had a vegan chocolate tart for dessert - HUGE portion size and super decadent! (Perfect to share!) I’d also recommend getting the ‘sauce’ for the cake on the side as it had a jam like consistency - tasty but I’d have liked less of it. Unfortunately, they had no gluten free dessert for my friend and recommend she ‘only eat the top’ (?) - not ideal. Overall, super tasty food and worth a visit!

Came here for a birthday and ordered a variety of vegan and vegetarian food from chilli to moussaka. Everything was delicious - both exceptionally tasty and filling. The place is cosy and feels like a proper restaurant. The service was friendly and efficient. Definitely one of our top picks for vegan food on the island.

Average food - Edit
Potatoes were really good but mains only average. The mild curry was so spicy we had to send it back and there was only overcooked peppers in the satay. Rice arrived after we had finished the mains.

Wouldn't bother - Edit
Wasn't going to visit due to bad reviews but I am open minded, made this account to warn people not to bother.. We were the only customers and yet totally ignored, even though we spent over 40 euro.. and the food was more bland than the service unfortunately. No desserts, no sangria, very weird dark/spooky lighting, very out of the way, hummus was the worst I have ever tasted ( I didn't even know you could get hummus wrong). Wouldn't recommend unless you are local and even then you could probably buy supplies self catering and do a better job, really unimpressed.

Cozy interior, nice service - but the food... - Edit
We came here because of the great reviews. But compared to other vegan Restaurants/Restaurants with vegan options on Lanzarote the food here was simply not very good, sorry to say that. Terrible and too loud old french jarring music as well. Very kind staff though but too busy with chatting with friends. I am sure they could do much, much better.💗

I also would agree, the staff didn't care about us (their only customers) and was just stood chatting for ages before even acknowledging our existence. Did you try bistro arbol? They were amazing!

Nice cosy atmosphere with a decent range of vegan options and drinks. However I think there could be some improvements on the food as the Madras was not flavoured properly and the chilli was a bit bland.

Delicious Dinner in a very cosy atmosphere - Edit
We had a really great experience. Its a small restaurant with a very friendly and familiar staff, a great menu of vegetarian and vegan dishes, mostly greek, oriental and asian. Very cosy with candle light and nice music! A definitive „Yes“!
