Good lunch options - Edit
Went today for a work colleague leaving lunch. The dirty vegan burger was really nice, and the hippie bowl looks nice (although I didn’t try it). Pleasantly surprised, they had 3 or 4 options including a burger, lasagne, salad etc.

William it was really something - Edit
Bill’s already has a good reputation of being vegan friendly anyway but it certainly goes that extra mile with its extensive Veganuary menu. The Durham branch is large and multi-level. A very nice setting indeed. As typical northerners it’s main course and drink only. You are chucking money away on starters and desserts in chain restaurants. It’s like Harry Winks scoring an own goal for the Totteringham Hotspuds. Our main courses of mushroom and tarragon suet pudding on parsley and white bean cassoulet and beetroot steak with fiery fries and vegan mayo with pea shoots were quite exceptional. Some of the best vegan food I’ve ever had in a non vegan establishment. After a quick Google confirmation that the pinot grigiot was definitely vegan we ordered a couple of glasses. Free table water was presented as standard. The whole bill came to a reasonable £40 including the moral dilemma of an unsuspecting 10% discretionary charge that I thought only existed in the depravity of London. Just as well we didn’t go for starters and desserts isn’t it!
