Great chippy with vegan options!

There is a vegan menu where the chips and food and cooked separately. We ordered of the vegan menu and got chips with curry sauce, chips, fishless fingers and chips and a vegan battered sausage! We sat outside to eat and the queue was out the door the whole time we were there. Great value for money and food delicious.

Pros: Vegan options , Food cooked separately , Good value for money

Vegan chippy options ☺️

So much choice for vegans! Very hard to choose and even more so by the many signs around the cafe with new vegan options on. Overheard other tables ordering vegan options which was lovely too. Keen to go back and try more.

Great choice!

How lovely to be able to go to the seaside and have chips, something we've not been able to do for quite some time! I had the battered sausage, chips and curry sauce whilst my partner had the falafel kebab. All very tasty! We went on a Wednesday evening and it was very busy, we had to queue for quite some time and unfortunately the cafe was shut. We had hoped for a vegan pudding but these weren't takeaway which was a shame. All in all, a good experience and we will definitely be back when in the area! The curry sauce was even a hit with a seagull on the sea front, who dipped his head in it. I hope he also enjoyed it.

Unexpected find!

I've never seen a fish and chip shop with so many vegan options. We had jackfruit balti with chips (cooked in separate fryer), battered sausage (think it was a richmond) and Moving mountains hot dog in brioche bun with fried onions!
Had a few other options too but was so pleased to find a fast food place at 8pm in Llandudno! Nice staff member who took our order too.

Lots of options but not great quality

It's wonderful to see a regular cafe with so many vegan options but Id prefer they had less options and did them well.

The battered sausages (Richmond) were undercooked with hardly any batter. The tikka chicken was ok. Even the chips weren't cooked properly - its very rare I don't finish a tiny portion of chippy chips but lots of them were inedible. Very expensive if you're eating in. A small portion of undercooked chips was £4.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Food not cooked well.

Amazing vegan options but a bit hectic!

The food we got was awesome. Not had a battered sausage in years and it was amazing! "Chicken" burger was super good too. The falafel kebab was disappointing though, just a few falafels and a portion of chips, nothing kebaby about it. They do always seem to be very disorganised, missing items, giving extra items, etc. So double check you've got everything, it's all vegan, and you've been charged properly!

Plenty of choice

Large vegan menu and extra vegetarian options with classic sea side dishes. I had the battered sausage and chips, perfect to eat down by the sea side. I didn’t try it but they also offer some vegan ice creams as well as ice cream for dogs! Adorable.

Separate vegan fryer. Great chippy, love the battered sausage.

Great food. Expect a few minutes wait as the food is cooked to order but the staff are really friendly and helpful. I holiday in Llandudno just to come here for my chips by the sea. A minutes walk to the beach. New vegan options on the menu this year. The curry sauce is so good.

Pros: Lots of vegan options at cheap prices, Nice friendly staff, Good portion sizes

Amazing

One of the best places to go for a vegan chippy tea! They have an entire vegan menu which includes most items from the normal menu as a vegan version. When in the takeaway section you can see the staff preparing chips, gravy and fried items separately and carefully kept away from non vegan products. My favourite is chips, mushy peas and gravy because you cannot get that classic combo for vegans at many other chip shops.

Pros: So many vegan options you are spoiled for choice!

Words are not enough

We walked in and were amazed at the menu. Such a wide range of lovely vegan products, really refreshing to see a well established restaurant embracing the vegan movement. The lady behind us in the queue said 'look at all that vegan food, is that really necessary', as if we aren't allowed a range of food options 🤣😂 I felt like asking if the 4 different types of fish on the menu were really neccessary 🤣😂

Pros: Great vegan menu, Friendly staff, Outside seating

Delicious!

A really lovely chip shop with an extensive vegan menu. We even asked for onion rings which weren’t on there, and they handmade some vegan batter in front of us. Really satisfyingly crunchy batter and not too greasy. Yum!

Pros: Long vegan menu , Lovely and helpful staff

Didn't disappoint!

I had benn looking for somewhere to eat for after our coastal walk. I'd found Barnacles on Happy Cow and decided before the walk that this would be our reward!
We sat in and can't fault the service, the young girl who served us was knowledgeable and friendly. There was plenty of choice for mains and desserts, ( each having a seperate vegan section in the menu). They also have vegan wine! We both ordered sausage and chips and for an extra 20p per sausage you could have them battered. A satisfying sized portion that really hit the mark after a long walk on a cold blustery day!

Pros: Vegan section in menu with plenty of choice

WOW WHAT A TREAT! Vegan fish & chips is a rare luxury & these guys provide!

I’ve been here a few times now for take away & eat in & every time it’s been awesome. It’s not often u find a fish & chip shop with a full vegan menu offering nostalgic classics like battered sausage. The chips are great & the cooked breakfast was delicious. They housed a party of 8 easily in the restaurant & the food (& beers) came out quickly. Nice to round off with a vegan Magnum😉The staff are friendly & the price is reasonable. Thanks guys, we’ll be back again.

Pros: Loads of tasty vegan options, Eat in restaurant as well as take away, Friendly staff

Cons: None, I’ve enjoyed every visit

Delicious and lots of choices!

Amazing little find! Tons of vegan options for mains and dessert. It was delicious too with great sizes portions! Only negative is the drinks aren't cheap and they fill the glass full of ice so you barley get anything, so ask for no ice or only a couple of pieces to avoid feeling over charged!

Pros: Lots of options, Delicious, Eat in it take out

Cons: Drinks are expensive

Extensive vegan options

Wide range of vegan mains, sides, desserts. Drinks also include vegan milkshakes. Ensure you state you’re ordering off vegan menu. Ate with omni partner and waiting staff got a bit confused over what was vegan and what wasn’t. But glad staff asked instead of guessing.

Pros: Great vegan menu, Desserts available , Dairy free shakes

Fantastic!

VERY friendly helpful staff. Lots of options for vegan veggies gluten etc.
Big portions. Wanted to try the cakes but far too full after a vegan all day breakfast ( made the mistake of ordering a side of vegan potato scollops!! THEY'RE HUGE!! Got a box and brought them home).
Lovely owner who has a family member who's vegan so they understand.
The ONLY and I repeat only change I would make is more oil free options for us on WFPB no SOS. Pos grilling some?
But I am nit picking. Can't recommend it enough. Especially if you have any non vegan/veggie etc in your group.

Pros: Fantastic food.

Cons: Need more oil free options

Vegan battered sausage & chips by the sea!

Barnacles offers vegan battered sausage and chips which you can take down to the seaside, only a few mins walk away. They were very careful about cross contamination. Can get very busy on a summers evening!

Vegan curry sauce!!

Enjoyed a filling and tasty meal here last weekend. Staff were very friendly and double clarified which meals and sides we wanted vegan. Enjoyed a spicy bean burger and chips with a jug of curry sauce on the side. Vegan puddings were on offer but I was too full. Also have a gluten free range too.

Pros: Quick, tasty, good portions, Lots of vegan choice, Useful if you're out with omnis
