222 Veggie Vegan - Edit
I liked 222 Veggie Vegan overall. Their potato croquettes appetizer was delicious. However, the seitan and turnip/potato mash entree was OK...I'll try something else next time. Cute restaurant with decent food, just a trek from zone 1.

Friendly and tasty! - Edit
Popped in at short notice and were made to feel very welcome and relaxed. The menu had a great variety of tasty options and our 3 courses each were all really well prepared, full of flavour and looked good on the plate. Highly recommended 😁

Dissapointing - Edit
Was rather excited for this as we had seen so many reviews but unfortunately found the food fairly bland and thought there to be better vegan options in the neighbourhood.

Healthy & great value - Edit
I went for lunch and it was a small buffet style where you can fill up your plate as much as you want. There were lots of healthy salads and hot foods and they were all very tasty. It can be hard trying to eat your veggies whilst travelling so this was much needed. The staff were also very friendly and the place was small but cosy.

Great start! Downhill from there... - Edit
Arrived around 19:00 on a Monday night, no booking. Walked in, asked for a table of two, told “that one’s empty” with a point and a smile, odd service for how the place is presented but thought nothing of it.
Read moreStarters arrived after a short-ish wait. Artichoke hearts and cauliflower/polenta croquettes. Artichokes were AMAZING! And the cauliflower pretty good too, very much looking forward to the rest of the meal.
We waited what felt like a very long time for our mains.
Mains came, the ben’s stir-fry was too spicy (we were told the hot wasn’t very spicy, so went for medium), the veg was crispy, but seemed like it had been cooked too long in oil too hot as it had lost all its freshness and was quite oily. The noodles were very soft and unpleasant. The oyster mushroom rachlette(sp) was very tasty, first bit was bliss, but the portion was so big it became almost a chore to eat it by the last bite. I would have happily paid as much for 2/3 of the portion.
When the waitress took the two plates she did not ask how the food was, so the half eaten stir fry was not questioned, this to me is very bad as, being a chef myself, i would always want to know if there were any issues with the food i was making.
After an even longer wait we were asked about desserts. We chose the crumble, and ‘warm’ choc gateux. The gateux was served cold, dense, and dry enough to such the moisture out of our mouths leaving a not quite gritty/furry texture.
The top of the crumble was bland and gritty. The apple filling was slightly spiced, under-sweetened and had a slight sweaty taste to it. Altogether a very disappointing final course. Again, my partner only finished half her plate, and the waitress did not question why.
We reluctantly paid the whole bill, having not been given the chance to provide feedback, and feeling it would be too rude to unload it all at the end. So, 3 hours after we sat down, we kind of just stood up and left, feeling a bit upset and disappointed with the whole experience.
Pros: Amazing starters, Wholesome food
Cons: Front of house staff, Portions too big, Desserts awful

This place is the best! - Edit
Never fails me - the dishes don’t vary hugely but it means you know what you’re ready - delicious, home cooked, nutritious food. And it’s all you can eat! Ben the head chef and owner has a winner on his hands

Tasty, vegan food - Edit
Very tasty, all vegan menu. Well spiced and flavoursome. Eaten here many times. It’s a very small space so it can feel cramped if it’s full, and it’s London prices (expensive) but the food is delicious

Standard lunch buffet - Edit
I have been meaning to visit this place after hearing great things about it before it turned completely vegan and finally got around to doing so.
Read moreMy impression is that they are not quite as comfortable being fully vegan, as I could see why some reviewers were unimpressed with the buffet. It was reasonable but, as others have mentioned, uninspired. I have had as good from non vegan places with salad buffets. Of course, it is always comforting to know that everything is vegan but, for me, not worth a return trip now that there are so many better options.
Having said that, my review is based mainly on the buffet. It may be that menu options are better. Unfortunately, I couldn’t order the cake that I had my eye on, as I found myself ignored after the initial approach and gave up. staff were nice, just not inclined to approach and it was too difficult to negotiate past the buffet and tables just to ask for dessert.
Pros: Fully vegan , Inclusive buffet price , Staff seem friendly
Cons: Inattentive service , Basic buffet options , Have to be seated but then get up to pay.

I've never been disappointed with the food whenever I visit this place. The buffet is varied and has lots of healthy, delicious food. The only downside is that there aren't that many tables, and the area near the buffet is cramped.

Disappointing - Edit
We went for dinner. Had a starter, the burgers and the pancakes for dessert. The burgers were very dry and I couldn’t taste any truffle? The pancakes tasted odd and had a sauce that tasted like it was shop bought. Will not be going back😒

Simple but good - Edit
Went for a buffet lunch. It was simple but good enough to be satisfied. There were 5 different salads, potato wedges, mashed potato, rice, and 2 curries (veggies and chickpeas). I would say the choices were not super exciting, but they taste alright. We ordered two drinks as well which took quite long to make regardless of the restaurant wasn’t very busy, they’re nice though. Would I go again? Yes, but only if I’m around the area, wouldn’t take a long journey for it. In conclusion, easy meal and full tummy!

Poor buffet, probably better on dinner - Edit
We went on lunch and it was deceiving. £12 and there were few dishes and quite simple. The buffet in camden (dou dou) is a lot more variate and cheap. We looked at the menu (just served for dinner) and it looks nice, we'll try again

delicious food, but loooong wait - Edit
222 is a vegan small restaurant located in West Kensington. During the weekend, it gets overcrowded and the wait for more than one hour, even with a booking. The place itself is a rectangular room that’s probably more suitable for a café rather than a restaurant. The place is very busy and it seems like they overbook, accepting customers who haven’t booked in advance. The tables are so attached to each other that you will probably have dinner with a stranger. Not the best place for an intimate candlelit dinner! The raw vegetables appetizer has three different dips: red bell peppers hummus, guacamole, and cashew cream. The texture of the sauces is intense and enveloping, you can easily binge on them if you just have had tortillas instead of cucumber sticks! The mushroom and seitan stroganoff is hearty and filling. The seitan has a meaty texture is properly cooked . The cream is simply like a taste of heaven and it’s full of fat mushrooms. The prices are slightly expensive, but totally worthy for the quality of the ingredients. Super recommended, if you will be patient enough to wait for you table!

tasty all-vegan casual - Edit
This place did not disappoint. We had the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet then splurged on a raw chocolate torte made with nuts and dates. Everything was absolutely delicious and vegan. Service was friendly though we did need to catch the server’s attention (she was the only one working the front). While small, this restaurant has thoughtful modern decor (mirror running the length of the place is a wise choice, and graphic art mural is fun to look at).
