The Best!

I have only been to this sanctuary so far but they are amazing and treat the animals with respect. They have the important vegan education too that not all sanctuaries have and should have. Their tours are highly informative and educational. The animals are well cared for and obviously very happy! The staff is super friendly too! I have been there 3 times so far and am a member, in addition to donating frequently. Their events - when they can have them - have great vegan food vendors to! I miss those! Their little gift shop is great too and has vegan snacks!

It's a great peaceful place to meet rescued animals living their best lives! Highly recommend for all veg people!

Amazing experience

A friend and I visited Woodstock back in July 2017, and made a day of it by visiting Catskill as well.

Absolutely loved the staff at Woodstock, they were all incredibly kind and compassionate. Love and care radiated.

They heavily encourage veganism and the tours are great and informative. The animals were all so sweet.

They let us hang out with the turkeys for a bit which was a great experience.

Saving the World One Rescue at a Time

An amazing place to connect with the animals we all love. They do great work and to get a full value volunteer and spend a day helping their residents and filling your heart.

A beautiful, educational experience

A really unique experience. Not a petting zoo; they are a little more of the mindset that you can interact with the animals if the animals are interested. But you will almost certainly have interaction; especially from those goats. If you take the tour, they allow you into the gates with the animals, and tell you a bit about their stories and struggles, along with a lot of surprising info about the animal agriculture industry. My tour guide was very generous and helpful, though she was probably just a bit heavy-handed with the vegan messaging for some people I imagine, but not enough to not enjoy the experience overall. All the staff was super kind. Was not crowded at all for us, and was a beautiful day.

Amazing experience

I love everything that Woodstock Farm Sanctuary is about!! They take great care of their rescues as well as the land. I went on a Saturday and had amazing food from 2 different vegan vendors.

Amazing!!

I visited the sanctuary for the first time today and had an amazing experience! The staff was very informative and so kind and caring towards the animals. The tour was about an hour long and was very educational. Our tour guide told us where all of the animals had come from and about the awful ways the animals are treated in the agricultural industry. We got to meet a lot of the animals, feed chickens and even give a pig belly rubs!! It was very heartwarming to see the animals thriving and living happy, comfortable lives. This sanctuary also offers a membership in which you can visit for free and also get discounts at loads of vegan restaurants and stores throughout New York, which is pretty cool. I will definitely be returning, and maybe even volunteering in the future! :-)

Pros: kind staff, amazing experiences, educational tours

Heaven on earth for rescued animals

This is an idyllic spot for animals rescued from factory farming, cockfighting, etc. The tours last an hour and are informative and unapologetically vegan. You get to pet, feed and interact with the animals. Great for kids.
