Excellent vegan fast food - Edit
Veggie Grill offers a good variety of burgers including ones with Beyond Burger patties. I took the steakhouse burger with vegan cheese and found it excellent. Nothing was missing in this burger. You really have plenty of vegan choices in a diner-like restaurant. Besides, portions were generous for a very decent price. Would recommend it without any doubt!

Tons of good tasting vegan options. Not the best vegan food I've tried, but consistently good across the many locations. Very good iced teas, lemonades, and agua frescas. No hot tea.

Veggie Grill is consistent no matter which location I go to. My husband got the beyond burger and loved it! The kids meals are great (my daughter got a beyond burger with fries and carrot cake along with a drink at a very reasonable price). I got the kale salad with tofu added and ranch dressing- yum!!

A casual date night favorite - Edit
One of my favorites in the area, this Veggie Grill--tucked into the corner of a small strip mall across the street from the Carlsbad Flower Fields--has a great vibe, excellent food, and really friendly staff. We usually sit outside even when it's chilly as the seating is more private and there are heat lamps. The carnist restaurant next door is revolting, but the two establishments standing practically side-by-side serves as an interesting juxtaposition: an icon of cultural dichotomies and, in my optimistic view, symbolic of the rise of veganism.
Read moreAs anyone who has eaten at multiple Veggie Grills knows, their dishes tend to vary depending on at which location you eat them--sometimes for the worse. Returning from a short trip to Seattle I re-ordered the Bahn Mi tofu bowl (which had been mind-blowing up north) and was sadly disappointed by how different it was, here.
But don't be mistaken: I *love* this place.
My favorite go-to burger is the Santa Fe Crispy Chickin' with the patty tossed in buffalo sauce. Definitely try their Southern Fried Backyard Spicy Fried Chickin' platter; everything on it is amazing, including the pinto bean stew--which surprised me, as I don't usually like pinto beans. The Seoul bowl is so-so and the Sonoran bowl is incredible. Their Mondo Nachos rival Native Foods' Native Nachos (I think it's the cheese...or maybe it's the chickin'). Get their dense and deeply chocolatey brownie for dessert: you'll want to eat it all in one bite and savor it slowly over the next few days and then you'll cry knowing you can't do both at once (and how is this possibly gluten-free??) but then you'll buy another one under the pretense of sharing (you probably won't, and that's okay).
Pros: delicious food, nice vibe, great waitstaff, food comes out quickly, ample opportunities to make carnists uncomfortable

Just have the beyond burger with french fries mac & cheese and a brownie. Amazing food great menu items and friendly staff. Definitely will be driving here in the future just for a meal. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for delicious healthy options.

I went here with my husband to get the ever anticipated beyond burger. It was great! We both got the beyond burger, could've gotten it with two patties for sure (we can eat a lot lol). The fries were good as well. Will definitely be back!

Thai Taco - Edit
Driving back from San Diego this was the perfect place for lunch. I tried the Thai Taco, with Asian slaw, and added Fresh Little Salad for $3.95! This was delicious and it is my new Veggie Grill favorite.

Great for Dinner with the Family - Edit
I am typically a raw vegan, but when I want to have the family/kids all go out together I love The Veggie Grill. They have food to appeal to any diet, that tastes great. The kids menus are a great deal. I wish they have more 'pure' raw options, but their salads are 90% raw so I can survive or ask to have them prepare meals custom and they are happy to oblige. This is a nice location with great parking, and outdoor seating with nice heaters.

I love all the options here, the food is cheap, delicious and ALL vegan. Someone gave this place a bad review because some of their fried food items, that is a very personal preference. In terms of taste and quality this place is 5 out of 5. If you want something on the healthy side they have a plethora of salad options. Veggie grill also has an app that gives you points every time you eat there which can be redeemed for free food. Awesome!

Vegan junk food - Edit
I've been there once and that was enough for me. Fried foods, whether they're fried in "healthy" oils or not, are still fried foods. The majority of the menu seems oriented towards people who want fast/junk/flavorless food with things like burgers, fries, etc. They do offer some less unhealthy options (I got the Gluten Free Power Plate - some tempeh and portobello mushrooms - it was OK, but mostly without flavor or distinction. The atmosphere was very corporate - no real warmth, lots of orange colors (which is used in a lot of fast food places because it seems to get people to leave quicker, thereby freeing up table space).
