Delicious! - Edit
The service was fantastic!! I was convinced to get dessert and I am so glad I did! I had the chikn-bacon-ranch sandwich with the Mac and cheese as a side, as well as a blueberry cake AND a giant cookie! All was fantastic. I can’t wait to be back in town to come here again!

A big improvement - Edit
Wow! We loved everything we got here. Nice to see a cafe that doesn’t rely on Beyond-type fake meats.
Read moreWe especially loved the “steak and cheese”. Everything was very well seasoned and portions were great. The prices were what I’d expect pre-Covid, which was a nice bonus.
We had been to this spot years ago when “Crave n co” was in the building and were very put off by the interior and freshness (or lack thereof) of the food. Glad to see something much better in its place. It’s now well worth stopping in Harrisburg for lunch or dinner on a road trip.
Pros: Fresh ingredients, The steak and cheese was amazing, Nice looking spot on the inside

Great - Edit
-BBQ Mac and cheese chickn sandwich - 9/10 great. Could definitely be more chicken-like if they used a plant based chicken rather than just tofu, but was still pretty good, and healthier from the less processed tofu.

This place has such good food and lemonade. I got the Philly Cheezesteak with kale salad and a cookie and all of it was devoured. They make everything from scratch and it makes a huge difference- high quality food and friendly staff. Love the actual ambience of the restaurant also.

Good food - Edit
I went double halfsies with my wife so I got to taste the Bahn Mi and the Eggplant Reuben. Had a side of chickpeas and chocolate chip cookie for dessert. The meal was tasty and original.
Read moreI vote the bathrooms as fine. The restaurant is a short distance from the capitol complex which dates back to 1906. The buildings in the area certainly are old but in this case I see it as a positive part of the dining experience.

Great food and nice hemp beer! - Edit
We had a lovely lunch sharing the eggplant Reuben and Bahn Mi sandwiches. Got to try their special beer which was nice on a hot day. Good chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Loved the chalk board too! Left our mark😄

OMGosh Heaven!!! - Edit
We’ve ventured off the 81/83 route to come into Harrisburg and without a doubt it was the best decision ever. Seriously some of the best vegan food I’ve ever had. Don’t let the review about the bathroom scare you off. It was old but clean (see pic). The eggplant Rueben was good. The tofu maple Dijon salad was the best I’ve ever had. The tofu is fried like chicken — amazing. Every part of the salad from the carrots to the beets to the kale had different flavor profiles and each one was bursting with unique flavor. Wish this wasn’t so far from my home. Very reasonably priced. I had leftovers of my salad to take home. Definitely a must try. I’ll be here anytime my travels take me back near Harrisburg. Five stars for sure!!!!

Well crafted food - Edit
Unlike newer vegan restaurants, they use tofu for many of their dishes. It makes for a very flavorful offering and not yet-another-beyond-impossible dish. Their chikn & waffles was made with tofu and an incredibly flavorful breading. They also make their own beer on tap and it’s worth a try!

Good food, resturant could be cleaner - Edit
The spicy mushroom soup was creamy and delicious. Just enough spice. The chickpea salad side was generously portioned.

Awesome! - Edit
I ordered the eggplant Reuben with Mac and cheese. It was amazing and so tasty! The flavors were really unique and delicious. Makes me wonder why when I cook at home, I can’t make food that stinking tasty! Mac and cheese had a little bit of heat and was perfect. The Reuben was delicious and was a real treat! Also had a cookie and berry ginger tea! Delicious and will definitely be back.

Popular spot - Edit
My friend and I came for lunch on a Sunday. They were sold out of about half the menu and most of the pastries. We split nachos, I got the crab cake pita, my friend got a the pesto grilled cheese. Everything was delicious and the presentation was really nice. Wish we could have come earlier to have more options, but the staff was very apologetic and helpful.

Would like to try again - Edit
We didn't have the best experience with The Vegetable Hunter. Despite the issue (I expressed my concern to the owner and hopefully for the female staff, it was handled). The meal was really expensive and nothing was made correctly. We ordered the BBQ Mac and Cheese Hot Dog, and they forgot the BBQ sauce, so it was super dry and defeated the purpose of it being a BBQ hot dog. We also ordered the cheesestake sub sandwich, and they forgot the cheese sauce, which again defeats the purpose of a cheesesteak. We also ordered a side of Mac n cheese that they left sitting in the kitchen, so it was cold by the time they brought it out.

Took an hour to get my food. It was just ok. It was also somehow only luke warm despite getting it right from the chef. This is the 2nd time I've been there twice, both were underwhelming

Great Vegan Meals - Edit
Good vibes and friendly staff. We made a pit stop during a road trip from NYC to CLT. The Harrisburg location was easy to get to from I81, with plenty of parking in front. The meals were healthy and delicious. We had the tacos (Korean tofu, beans, and chipotle beans), the Super Food bowl, and choco chip cookies. All was sooo good. We would be regulars if we lived in town.

Fresh food baby options - Edit
Very friendly staff. Jessica let us taste samples before we ordered. I appreciated the vast menu. So many vegan places serve only comfort food like vegan versions on unhealthy bar food (cheese steaks, Mac n cheese) but this place also has bowls and tacos. We had the cheese steak and pulled pork. They were good. We liked that there was something more than tofu and mushrooms being used. We thought the hot dog buns were just ok. They could improve that. We ordered a superfood bowl and ginger peanut bowl. Both were flavorful and fresh but had small portions. The desserts were too expensive for the size and quality. The peach cobbler cupcake didn’t have any peaches and tasted artificial. They definitely have a lot of great options.

Wildly interesting, well-balanced flavors - Edit
Having grown up in Central PA, I was pleasantly surprised to find a vegan joint when driving through Harrisburg, and even more surprised to be absolutely knocked off my feet by the truly interesting, divinely balanced flavor profiles. I had the sunflower sausage bagel with a kale salad and the rose cardamom latte, and each one was just so perfectly seasoned (the kale salad particularly surprised me, because it looks like it’s basically just kale at first, but the dressing is so delicate and delicious). I regret nothing, and think I’ll grab a pastry for the road.

Incredible food and inviting interior - Edit
Came here on a Saturday at opening on a drive to Little Longears Donkey Rescue! There were so many great choices I hated to narrow it down. We got the Mac & Cheese Pesto Sandwich and Chicken & Waffles. I loved that they had everything in supply and it was homemade (no Gardein or Beyond Meat, for example). We drew art with chalk on their colorful chalk walls and eyed their boardgames too. 😀

not allowed to have certain items because they weren’t already prepared for the day. - Edit
we got here when they opened at 11:30. we were told we can’t order the chicken and waffles because the waffles will take too long to make (it was a breakfast item though, so shouldn’t it be assumed that people will order breakfast as soon as they open?) we said we’d wait for them. we waited 40 minutes before the cook came out and said we couldn’t get the mac and cheese pita either because they’re just starting to make the mac and cheese and “it’s a process”. i don’t know why it took 40 minutes to know i couldn’t get that either though. so i switched to the sausage bagel breakfast sandwich. the taste of the food was okay but nothing amazing. we were the first ones there when they opened and waited an hour for our food. they said it took so long because they got so busy, but even so, shouldn’t the orders be made in the order they’re received? the whole experience was bizarre.
