Limited menu - Edit

We had for starters salsa and a plate of tempeh, for mains . SpAghetti “ carbonara” and risotto . And two drinks apple and ginger . Great drinks , the mains were tasty but the bill came to a high 7000 yen or AUD 75 for two. Even in Tokyo a similar meal was around 5000 yen. By Australian standards it is a cafe with restaurant prices . As we not allowed in before 6pm even though the coffee area was supposed to be open we found a great new Tokyo beer lab around the corner that has vegan food . But we came back here to try it out and found it ok but not worth what we paid

Pros: The drinks , Fast service , Tasty

Cons: The price, Limited menu, Getting the bill with the main course

Best Coffee in Japan!!!! - Edit

Coming from Australia we have a large coffee drinking culture and this bonsoy latte was even better than that I would have gotten at home. Also the veggie panini we ate was absolutely delicious with tofu feta and pumpkin. Definitely recommend! We ate the breakfast menu so not sure about lunch or dinner. Enjoy!

Pros: best coffee

Yummy but not belly-filling - Edit

Very good food, nice space and view, but the portions are crazy small for the price you pay! Yummy but not worth it.

Staff are super friendly and the food is amazing. A beautiful outlook over the river and bridge puts a cherry on top of such a great spot.

So chic and delicious - Edit

I love this place. Bright and cheerful, big windows allowing plenty of sunshine and facing the river with a view of the bridge (七条大橋). Will definitely visit again next time I'm in Kyoto. Other than the restaurant, which serves delicious food, there is a small shop area where you can buy vegan baked goods (cookies), and some organic ingredients like red lentils, coffee, etc. I bought some cookies as souvenirs. As for the restaurant - I wanted to try everything on the menu but of course I had to choose. Was torn between the paninis, avocado toast and açaí bowl, but in the end I went with the açaí bowl (it was a sort of açaí smoothie with some granola and fruit for topping and a soy yoghurt base at the bottom of the bowl), with a vegan muffin (muffin of the day was chocolate the day I went) and maya nuts au lait (a sort of coffee drink - so good!) My meal was very satisfying and filling and so delicious. I saw other customers having the panini and the avocado toast that I had "forgone"... and they looked so good, too...! No regrets or buyer's remorse though, I'll just have to try those some other time. Highly recommend this place. It's stylish and chic and when I returned later in the day (evening) to buy the cookies, they were having a dance performance - seems like a very hip and artistic hub.

Pros: delicious food, chic vibe, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, small shop area where you buy vegan goodies

Cons: none

Original & delicious vegan dishes! Oishi! - Edit

We had the daily Soup, Taco Rice, Tofu Carbonara and Green Curry Risotto. A very unique use of herbs create some great vegan flavours - my wife wa surprised that it was vegan. We finished with a Bonsoy Chai latte... perfect! Highly recommended.

Beautiful, delicious and nourishing - Edit

We ate here twice while staying in Kyoto. Although it wasn’t close to where we were staying it was worth renting some bikes to eat here! Wonderful atmosphere and real food and coffee (they even use bonsoy - the only soy worth drinking).

Pros: great coffee , beautiful atmosphere , delicious food

One of my favorite places in Kyoto - Edit

I love the river view at this place and the food is consistently good. On my last visit I had the panini plate and it was amazing- tasted just like any other panini, but totally vegan. It had vegetables in it, not cheese. It is so rare to find vegan panini in Japan.

It also came with homemade pickles, salad, sweet potato, and soup. Everything was great. The soup was scaldingly hot.

I went late and they were sold out of all the desserts but one, and the coffee machine was broken so they could not heat soy milk for coffee. But just the food itself was so good. I always recommend this place.

You can walk there easily from Kyoto station as it is only around 850 meters away, or take the subway.

Pros: Great view, Good location, Food is consistently good

Cons: Might sell out of things if you go late

very good - Edit

I tried the banzai lunch special and i have to say it’s delicious. It has a variety of different foods some of different origins and it was very good. If you’re coming for lunch try to make it before 3pm otherwise you won’t be able to get the lunch

Beautiful Fine Dining - Edit

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff with great English. I recommend the carbonara pasta, I’m not a pasta fan but it is SO Devine! The hot wine is also delicious and comforting if you’re visiting in the winter. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fancy dinner date location. It’s a little expensive but you get what you pay for - good quality organic meals etc.

Pros: great food , atmosphere , hot wine!

Good vibe, great food! - Edit

Went there today for dinner. Fantastic river view and we managed to catch the sun set over the water. This place has a lively vibe and staff are really friendly. They have an English menu and offer a variety of choices.

We ordered the tofu carbonara and the green curry risotto. The pasta came with an extremely rich and creamy sauce which I loved. We also ordered their chocolate "cheese"cake (raw vegan) and coconut muffin with choc chips for dessert. The raw cake was heavenly with a rich cholocate flavour. Would go back if I have time!

A great place - Edit

The place is really nice and pretty. I enjoyed the food but it was too spicy for my liking and there wasn’t a lot of options. They also sell interesting snacks there but they’re a bit pricey, though it’s still a nice place!

Cons: spicy, if you’re not a fan of spicy food

Refined cafe - Edit

This was a lovely minimal style cafe that’s all vegan. I went for breakfast and had their toast special, which was delicious. Their coffee is very good and they offer hand drip. The prices were expensive but it was quality and had a great view.

Pros: delicious, open for breakfast

Cons: expensive, small portions

Not a favorite - Edit

I wouldn't call this place bad, but I can't recommend it either. My dish was not very interesting. Also, while the restaurant claims to have cafe hours until 6pm and serve dinner after that time, arriving at 5:30 means you have to wait outside until they are ready to take dinner orders. At least the service was quick!

TOURIST TRAP - Edit

Total disappointment! This place is utterly a tourist trap. The prices are insane and portions are tiny. Plus the food is very average. I would give it 0 stars if I could. Tiny glass of juice from bottle $6! Took 35 minutes to get starter!

Cons: Poor quality food, Expensive, Small portions

Nice place, lame menu - Edit

Dropped in for breakfast.

I was underwhelmed by the breakfast menu with only a few simple options. Toast, a veg panino and a couple of yoghurt bowls.

I orders the panino (disappointing) and the acai bowl. The acai bowl was really poor - not enough fruit and hardly any granola.

I was also disappointed by the service which was very slow indeed.

I'm sorry to say, I can't recommend this place because the food is well below par.

very tasty food, lovely staff - Edit

We had diners every night at that restaurant that was just next to our hotel. Fresh food and extremely tasty. Loved it! Only downside was that it was no gluten free options except from rice and salads. They had really tasty vegan burgers and muffins but they had gluten.

Delicious - Edit

The restaurant was top notch, cosy and had a perfect location by the river. The food was amazing! We tried two of the three dinner plates, nr 1 and 3 if I'm not mistaken. I'm already looking forwars to try the last one! The appraisers were also good, the potato was a bit to salty, but the fried tofu (I think) was tasty.

Pros: they really put their soul in the food, and you ca

Cons: Bit pricey, but totally worth it if you are lookin
